Sunny Thursday ...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Thursday ...

Postby Getupngo » Thu Jan 13, 2011 5:51 am

... at least that's what the weather report predicts. As it is, it's quarter to four in Utah and I'm STILL up. At least the laundry is getting done.

But I have my Snickerdoodle coffee on (oh, could THAT be it?) and I'm watching a NUMB3RS rerun. Sad, I know. Life in the fast lane.

SO ... GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

Biggest thing in my life right now is making my snotty little dog eat. She's always been hard to keep weight on ... and she has gotten EXTREMELY picky / resistant. And she's so underweight right now I can't just "wait her out" (as in, "she'll eat when she's good and hungry"). I canceled a trip to Los Angeles because I can't board her while she's not eating. I know THEY won't cook specifically for her.

She is right now refusing to eat two-day-old pot roast. Grrrr ... Little snotty dog.

Sorry to hear about LS dog....have you tried the high nutrient stuff that comes in a tube. You can place it on their tongue and for some puppers it will stimulate the appetite. I have used it for ill cats before, also. Cats deteriorate fast when they don't eat. Stay warm everyone....definitely NOT sunny here in SW Ohio. I need to start making lists and start packing if I ever want to get out of town. I will need to turn some heat (electric) on in the bus to tolerate the packing process and I also need to wait until the road clear a little b/c I believe I am out of propane, too. Mostly I want to stay inside read a book and stay warm.

Guess I won't be planning on passing through Atlanta any time soon..... :o :) And Carol thought that her mountain might be clear by the end of May.... I can always head more east and make my way through NC and south.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

I hope your little 4-footer gets her appetite back soon, Janice---it's no fun trying to coax a reluctant eater to get some nourishment.

Today dawned a bit chilly outside, and much less fuzzy than yesterday morning at this time! It took my body all of 36 hours to recuperate after my birthday celebration! My son, on the other hand, got himself up and out of bed yesterday morning to get to the DMV early enough so he didn't have to spend an entire day there getting his car registration re-done----or maybe it was his FL driver's license, too. At any rate, when I called him later, he said it was surprisingly fast for the DMV! Melissa slept a bit later, but got herself up and out while it was still morning. My body demanded a supine position until about 6:00 last night!

I hope that Pete and Beth take notice of any truck campers that might be for sale at the RV show today. I wish I had the funds and gumption to drive to Tampa and see the show for myself, but it will have to wait for another year. My next paycheck from SS will be deposited into my account a week from yesterday, and I will be shopping on that day to get prepared for my leaving for the GTG in Ocala a week from today. I plan to have enough food to keep myself happy for a week, plus some to prepare for the couple of potluck dinners we will all share. And, of course, Recipe ingredients. At this point, the thought of Recipe makes me feel a bit queasy!

I'm not sure if we had a frost here last night, or not, but time will tell. I am planning to get my new oil/gas lease document notarized once again, and then put into the Fedex drop box back in St. Cloud. The last document had some errors, or confusing words in it, according to my brother, so he had the company re-do the whole thing. It's nice to have a brother versed in legal language enough to see what needs to be fixed! I might wait for tomorrow to do that, however, if the weather is to be freezing down here again tonight. This house is much more comfy than the trailer if the wind is whipping and the temp is below freezing!

Anyway, I am once again among the living, and will try to get caught up on all the posts and email I have waiting to be read. I am also going to start a list of things I need to bring to the GTG next week. I am hoping to get my canoe into the trailer once again, among other things like my guitar and fiddle. Have I practiced? HAH! Not one single time! Perhaps this week??

Thanks for the coffee, and I hope all you northerners still have power and can stay warm while you shovel out from that latest storm. Some areas lucked out with less accumulation than they predicted, but I hear that other places got MORE than expected.

Happy Thursday to all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

It is a Sunny Thursday here !!! The sun is out, the sun is out!!!!! Its only 7 degrees, but the sun is out. I doubt much of this snow will go anywhere, its hard as a rock, and so much of it. But the sun is out and that makes for a GOOD day . :P

The only good thing about this confinement is I am going to have a cleaner, less cluttered house. That is after I get all the bags of trash out of here !!

Janice, sorry your little dog is trying to give you a hard time about eating, sounds like how some kids do :) You just haven't found the thing SHE WANTS  I hope thats all it is, that she is just having a few days like everyone, nothing sounds good, so we don't feel like eating. Keep us posted.ok?

Hope everyone has a great day, Sarah, hope your snow melts faster then I think ours is going to here, so you can get ready and on the road. Be careful of that ice out there, its terrible here and probably lots more today with low temp and scraping that was done yesterday. So far I haven't heard of any power outages here, ( crossing fingers ).

Nite Janice, good morning everyone !!
CArol :)

Tried to post and there was Tina and Soos, stopping me !! Tina, if you plan to leave before this week end, which ever way you try to go down, check the roads, there is snow and lots of it, where there never has been before. Do your packing, forget the book, :) , till you get to Fl. and when weather is good, get on down there before more of this lovely stuff comes.

Glad to hear you are feeling better Soos, yes recovery takes a little longer as time goes by. I'm good for about 1/2 glass of wine so my drinking days are pretty much over

Tina I hope it warms up enough for you to get organized. We are supposed to get another round of bad weather the first of the week but too early to tell how bad, I always cringe when they say snow mixed with rain. Right now the sun is out giving the impression that it is warm, not-- it is only 11 degrees out there. brrrrr I think I'll wait till later to do errands. Maybe some hot oatmeal for my second breakfast would be tasty.

It was 25 here over night. I know that's nothing to some of you but it's cold for here. I wish the cold weather made me feel like cleaning instead of eating. I need to be walking but my toes are still sore. I told my son that if I'm still limping around Feb 1 I would go to the doctor. Don't want to rush into anything. lol We left the water dripping in the bathroom on the North side and the cats have enjoyed that. The little fur balls have something for running water.

Janice, you could borrow a neighbors dog so your dog would think someone was going to eat her food. lol Dogs usually get greedy if they think they have to share. I noticed lately that my oldest cat has lost some weight. I think she is about 12. I need to get her some canned food and shut her up alone so she can eat it. The other 4 are on the pudgy side and don't need extra food.

Don't know what I will do today. Our trash pickup runs tonight and my latest mission is to fill the can up every week. Can't see much of a dent yet. Between the house and barn trash it is pretty full anyway.

G'morning!
I haven't looked outside, but with the sound of pitter patter on the roof, my guess is, RAIN! It poured on and off all night. The temps are rising, getting to mid 50s daytime. Weird. Avalanche warnings in the passes, so be careful travelers in our area.

Yesterday around 1:45 I get knock on the door. It's the Whacky-doo neighbor lady. She has a Dr appt and her husband can't get the car to start, "could I take her"? I say, 'of course'. She is such a sickly thing, has so many health issues. Well as I'm getting ready I get another knock. It's the husband. He needs a ride to Napa to get some parts for the car and can he get a ride, too. Ok, as it's right on the way and neither places are that far to drive it's not a problem. So for the next 2 hrs I was either in Napa (I did buy an air filter for my car), or sitting at the clinic waiting. Oh, and I did tell her the bright light was Jupiter and I still think she wanted to argue about it.

Today I need to transfer some $$ to get the lawyer paid. Financially being an executor to an estate, can be quite burdensome. The bank with my X's accounts have up to 40 days to release the funds, plus there was the funeral expense that needed paid upfront.

Praying traveling mercies to all who are traveling.

Hi Everyone,

I am not sure how this site works, so please tell me the proper protocol, I don't want to be "That person!"
I have intermittent internet use as I prepare to leave for the road. My date to leave was pushed back to
Feb 4, and that is the latest it can be pushed back. I am trying to get the house rented, and the stuff
out. It is seriously the hardest thing to do, getting the rooms packed up.
I have to take the Vista in tomorrow for some minor things still covered under warranty which are not right.
I want them fixed before I take off and have to find a place to do this on the road.
The Winnebago warranty, along with the extended warranty I purchased should be good for these things,'but it is still inconvenient.

I guess I need to put my photos on photobucket or something for this site, so if you want to see pics you'll
have to go to my website until I have some time to get that all figured out!
I want to do a tour of the RV and put it on there this weekend, we'll see how time management goes.

I do have a blog on the website if you want to read more, but I am not sure if I should just post the blog on here?
Today's topic is something you all can relate to I guess...."calling your RV Home"

There is a link on my website for the blog, so if you want to read it, go there...

Sorry to hear about your little dog not eating. When I picked up Wrigley after leaviung him for a week he looks
like he did not eat the whole time I was gone. i feel very guilty for leaving him...he was always "wirey", but now
he is skin and bones. I am trying to "fatten him up" while slimming me down!!

Tomorrow I will be at the RV shop all day...do you stay with your rigs? I said I was staying (because it is an hour from my
current house), and they acted like that was odd....

hope you all are enjoying your day, I can't wait to be out there joining you!

The local RV shops near me won't make an appointment to do something and let me wait. They are an hour from my house and it's a pain to have to get someone to come get me when I leave it and bring me back to pick it up. I don't know how they treat people that have to have emergency work done while on the road. You hear good and bad stories about people having to have repairs done. After spending 5 hours at a camping world waiting for a toilet to be installed I can see that it's not in their best interest to have future customers viewing their operations. This camping world also sold RV's and after spending the day with them I am real sure I wouldn't be buying one from them.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Weather today is suppose to be good. It's 39f outside now and suppose to be in the low 40's today then climb to 50 on Saturday. Oh I can hardly wait. :D The sun is shining hard out there so it might even get to 45!

Kelly finally went to the shower rooms and is now at the store. She's picking up that most of all important stuff, toilet paper! Plus rice and a green pepper for supper tonight. So as soon as she gets back the chicken and the rest of the fixin's will be tossed into the crockpot. Doing a recipe that was on the back of a box of Lipton Garlic and Herb soup/dip mix. Sounded really good and it will for sure be different than what we've been eating but still cheap.

Nothing exciting going on here of course. Will have to ask Kelly when she gets home if the bathrooms have been cleaned yet? The girl that is "suppose" to do them, doesn't!!! Have complained to the manager but apparently she has a real blind spot for the girl? I don't think they're related, soooo? Will probably complain again. We've been taking a spray bottle to the showers with us with bleach water in it to spray the floor, walls and shower curtain so that at least WE know that they have been disinfected! I'm not a clean or neat freak but???? When ya see disposable razors in the showers for over a week ya just know it ain't been cleaned.

Still no hot water and it's a real pain doing dishes. Yeah, I know, heat water on the stove. But then we use up the propane faster than we like. So we've been heating water up in the micro and in the coffee pot. At least ele is included in the site rent! Sure do have a lot of plans for our income tax returns!

Ok, better get to chopping up an onion for the chicken. Hope everyone has a good day and please be careful in all that you do.

Love to all

I would really have to question why they don't want you to wait??? Especially if it's not gonna take overnight!!! Wasn't it Jenny who said that she always stays with the motor home while at the shop? And then caught a mechanic or salesman who was gonna "show" their MH to someone??? Shocked the heck out of the guy that she was in there! Would have loved to seen the look on the guys face. Seems to me if they have nothing to hide they wouldn't care if ya waited or not.

Just my opinion!!!

Good Morning Ladies

Still looks as if I'm stuck on my hill until at least Saturday when temps warm enough to start melting the driveway (white concrete driveway so will melt slower than dark asphalt). Many encouraging signs however: sun is shining, news reports say most major roads are now open, more businesses are reopening today, mail and garbage service resuming in some areas, etc. High today mid 20s and low tonight of 10, but tomorrow should see 35, then 43 on Saturday. Hard to believe that will seem warm but I sure am looking forward to it.

Has anyone seen any reports on what is causing all the strange bird deaths where they are reported to just fall out of sky? There was another report of that happening last week near Taft, TN and yesterday more than 300 birds dropped dead along I-65 about 30 miles from Huntsville.

Wishing all a good warm day

Grrrr!! Just wrote a long post about my hike yesterday and lost it! So I will just say I had a great day and a long, long hike, took a ton of pics and will post them later. (Will write again about it in more detail later on the Campfire Thread)
Sunny and 67 right now! Perfect day!
Been working on my plans for my trip to Santa Barbara next week. I can't wait! Found a cute little motel right across the street from the beach!

Hope you all are digging out, warming up and traveling safely today!

(Also heard about birds dropping out of the sky somewhere in northern California the other day too! What the heck is going on??)
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

What I have been told about waiting on my RV is that they don't know how long it is going to take. It just makes me think that they don't have a very good person doing their scheduling. I have never pushed it with them. One shop kept my motorhome for a month to fix 3 things that involved ordering parts. Instead of figuring out everything that they needed they would work on one thing, order the part, fix it and move to the next thing. Won't be going there again if I can help it.

Jenny and Dan are full timers and they have cats in their RV. If I was on the road and needed to see about a pet I would be right there too.
