Sunday Mornin'

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday Mornin'

Postby asirimarco » Sun Jan 09, 2011 7:29 am

Woke up about an hour ago and realized The Driver was up - he didn't come back to bed so I got up to investigate. He was playing chess on his laptop just a sniffing, sneezing and coughing - CRAP he caught it!
And it is COLD in here - asked him why he didn't turn the heat on and he said he didn't want to disturbe me. How sweet. Heat is now on.
So any way fresh coffee is brewing, I am wide awake and up and he is back in bed. Hope when he gets up he feels better.
We went out to the Plaza Machado last night for dinner and music. Had the delicious Italian Salad with grilled chicken. Also a couple of guys were in the plaza playing saxaphones. So nice to sit and enjoy and watch the people go by and listen to the sweet music. We left about nine when things were getting really crowded and the big bands were cranking up. Bill has made friends with all the old men who "watch" your car for you when you park so one of them always "saves" (as a space big enough to park in opens up they put a traffic cone in it until we come along) us a place to park. As he says speaking the language well has advantages.
So Good Morning to All when you are up and about (by then I just might be back in bed.) Have a good day.
Just finished an update to the blog about the evening and about something that happened to me 50 years ago - went to a fortune teller then.......

Good Morning all,

Hope everyone had a good day yesterday. I cleaned up the snow from the drives, porches and my deck yesterday morning. Was a fairly quick job as it was so light and fluffy, I was able to run the blower at a little faster pace than I would for heavier snow. So I'm all cleaned up till we get more of the white stuff later this week. Otherwsie, didn't do much yesterday. Watched some old John Wayne movies on TV, took the dogs for a nice walk, caught up on my bookkepping etc.

Today Is of course Chruch this morning and then the rest of the day is a question mark. Not sure where it will lead. I know there will be a dog walk in there somewhere. If it's nice, maybe a little picturetaking ride someplace around here. Temp at the moment is around -3, and a few late stars still shining out there, so it has the makings of a nice day.

So nothing exciting to report around here. From the looks of the weather, it looks like the entire country is going into a cold spell except a few spots. Enjoy your Sunday, keep warm and those of you in the south, facing a storm, stay safe.

Good Morning Ladies

Well, I had a fabulous day yesterday. For all my intentions to say in my jammies and bunny slippers, a friend called to meet her up in Richmond at the Cheesecake Factory. And she was paying!!! :o How could I say no. So we planned on me picking her up. I was getting ready to go when I glanced out the window. OMG, it was a blizzard. I could barely see across the street. And the grass was snow covered already. With the wind, the snow was going sideways mostly. It was the consistency of snow cone ice instead of flakes. So called up to my friend ready to cancel, and her hubby answered and said they had total sunshine at their house. :? Really???? So, trusting that the weather would change as I went north, sure enough, I drove about 5 miles north, and the sky cleared! Very weird weather...

After stuffing ourselves, we headed home; dropped her off, checked the Seahawk-Saints score (it was 10-0 Saints), and drove home in rapidly dropping temps. The rest of the evening is history (read the Football thread if you're interested).

Was one of the best unplanned days I've had in a long time. :D  :D  Even was a good night as all three cats started the night on the bed...one at the head of the bed, one at my feet, and the other one at the other side of the foot of the bed. This is a HUGE improvement over the awful fights we used to have.

Not sure what the weather will hold for the next 48...once again, the forecasters can't determine the storm path. Could be terrible; could be nothing...I'd like something in between--can you say SNOW DAY??? Anyway, I hope no one has the terrible snow, ice, and sleet they are saying might be included in this storm. Snow is ok, but the ice and sleet is horrible and causes all kinds of probmels we don't need. So bundle up, hunker down, be safe if you're going out, and enjoy this Sunday! :) :)

Good morning ladies
I'm on my second cup of coffee, catching up on posts and planning my day. Have to
go in to work at 1:30 and do a full shift so all the stuff I need to do has to happen
this morning. Have been doing some research on the computer, searching for a lost
book I loaned out years ago and never got it back....I'm hoping to get it back and
trying to locate this person, I came across his uncle's business that I remember he
used to talk about. Hopefully I can get the book back, it was a book my grandmother
gave to me, back in the 80's, called The Living Bible and she had signed her name
in it, etc. I was foolish to loan it out but the friend said his mother was sick and
would enjoy reading some passages in it. We'll see what comes of it.
The girls are still sleeping, I can't believe they have not gotten up to bug me for their
breakfast. Will have to go in and make them get up I guess.
You ladies have a great day and I hope somebody has nice weather.

Good morning All:

Thought i would pop in here, it has been awhile. We are in Cle Elum, WA, East of Seattle on I90. God stuck on the ice/snow when we pulled into the campground last night but made it safely to the campsite after some chains, prayer and determination. Woke to 5" of new snow. Checked the pass report and chains are required for anything over 10,000 lbs ~ yep, that's us :D

Made a breakfast casserole and now we are both on the computer for a little while till we decide what to do. I am hoping we make it home to Blaine today. Have lots to do and Ron has jury duty starting tomorrow.

Other than that life is good! Wishing you all a blessed day!!

Morning...still AM here.
I've been up since 2, because I went to bed around 7! :o I was feeling somewhat better so attended my 2 GDs basketball games (3 different towns). The weather held, no freezing rain in the mountainous areas and my DD/SIL have studded tires on their car so we felt comfortable. All and all it was a great day and I got some close bonding time with my DD. The last game got over around 5 and then a 45 min drive back to her house. By then my throat was starting to burn again and I felt a bit feverish so I drove straight home and crashed. This morning, no voice! It was iffy yesterday and the day before, too. Sniffing and coughing is the order but I know I could feel worse. The past few colds I've gotten have been fairly mild.

This morning my DD/family all flew down to AZ for the funeral/memorial. The whole family went down and will fly back tonight. I think that was a good idea for the 2 GDs sake. Also the youngest who turned 9 on the 6th, is doing much better after taking meds for her walking pneumonia. She played basket ball and didn't cough once. I was amazed at how fast she's recovered.

Predicting a snow storm for us by Wednesday. Still not sure if we will get hammered by snow or rain, though. I vote for rain.

Hoping to get back to feeling like myself but I know I have the rest of the month and 3 surgeries to get thru. I have high hopes for all three. Keeping the faith.

Please be careful if you have to be out in these predicted snow storms. Anyone needing extra prayers and good wishes? You got it!
Hugs, dear ladies.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Weather here is pretty good this morning  . Temp is running at 39f. Finally talked to camp ground manager and she was all a flutter about some big storm coming in here? The weather website I use says "20% chance of snow"? The ? station for the website is 5mls east of town here and so far I have found it really accurate. One of the ladies we worked with at the Lodge has a daughter who is a meteorologist and it's the website she recommended to her Mom to watch. The URL is www.wunderground.com seems to be pretty comprehensive too. It is suppose to be cooler here Mon and Tues in the low 30's Weds in high 30's and Thurs back to the low 40's, so I'm not gonna really complain.

Wifi internet is back on today!!! YAY, WOOHOO AND WOOT WOOT!!! About drove us nuts not having the wifi for 2 days and only the stick to share!!! OK Beth, we need a crazed out smiley now! ;) Or one showing it pulling out it's hair!  Make it really freaky and red eyed and then you have a good rendition of Kelly and I with no internet!

Nothing exciting going on here now that the wifi is back on. Sure did think it was get that way tho!!! Life isn't too bad for us really except for being broke! But at least we aren't in tents. But then again if we were living in the tents again this winter we would be a lot further south than this!!!

Carol, yesterday you posted to the morning coffee about us hanging on? We are, sometimes by our fingernails but none the less hanging on for sure. And yep sure didn't have any real time to do much in maintenance on this thing before living in it and finding all the little problems. Slowly but surely they will get worked on and fixed. Unless of course we win powerball or the megabucks lottery!! Of course THEN we wouldn't have to worry about it as we would only leave a dust trail on the way to the "dealers" for a new RV.   Kelly and I play a "What if" game. We ask and wonder what we would do IF we did hit the lottery for big bucks? It's a dream or I guess a fantasy. But it's fun and sure does pass the time. We have really kicked around the idea of which we would get? Another truck and TT or a Class C. To tell the truth as much as I like a TT I do believe I would get a Class C and a toad. Get Kelly use to driving it and then get her one one of her own! My toad would be a small 4x4 pickup and she says she would get a small C and a 4x4 jeep. But first we would travel to places by air. Hawaii, Ireland, Australia, Russia, Austria etc. Then we would come home and jump into the C's and go. Summer in AK and then hook up on the bumper of Carol and Bill to MX!  By goodness I bet Kelly would get some learning and practice on Spanish then!   But of course ya can't win unless ya play and right now we can't play the lottery. We will again when we get back to work. Wouldn't have been so broke this winter if it hadn't been for buying the truck. From June to the last of October, right up to the next to last paycheck almost all of my pay went to paying off the truck. Only had my very last paycheck and Kelly's small one to work with when we got done at the Lodge. Next fall will be much better tho!!! Fun to dream tho!

OK enough rambling, time to read some postings and get caught up. For goodness sake!!! If you are in any of the areas that will be getting that crappy winter weather be careful!!! Be safe and don't take any unnecessary chances! Hope everyone has a good day.

And Ali!!? I really hope you and Ron decide to sit still and let the weather get done with itself!

Love to all

GOOD AFTERNOON TO ALL!

It's a bit late for coffee, but I am now back in my house in Orlando. I unloaded the truck after loading it up at Goog's, with some groceries I bought while there, the bed I took for the grandma to use, and a few odds and ends of clothes. It was a great weekend, ending with a really neat campfire last night out at the pond. Melissa's grandmother, Erma, is a remarkable lady who looks as if she is in her 60s or very early 70s rather than her 96 years! She gets around like I do! I sure hope I am in half that good shape when I get to be her age. It was fun talking to her and getting to know her.

Melissa has something special planned for her and Goog to do next weekend, and they are both taking Friday off to add to the 3-day weekend for Martin Luther KIng Day. She is not telling any of us what she has scheduled, but it sounds as if it will something really exciting! It's for Weldon's birthday, which is Tuesday. I can't wait to learn where they are going.

I am now tired, and might even take a nap. I spent a couple of hours trimming palm trees with the neighbor's lopper/saw thing, managed to brush my knuckle up against a palm trunk (they are extremely rough and full of very sharp fibers) and drove a long, black splinter into my knuckle, right on the joint. Luckily I found a needle and some alcohol, and, after digging a trench into my skin to get to the splinter, I managed to raise it up enough to grab it with needle-nose tweezers and extricate it. But, MAN! Is my knuckle sore now! The darned thing was nearly a half inch long, very stiff and sharp, and stingy!

Time to call a sick friend, then hit my lounger and watch some TV. I hope you all are having a good day. Glad to hear Kathy got her propane and some supplies while out and about.

Soos, who is Weldon?

It is pretty nice out here in southern California! No rain, ice, or snow! Will be sunny and in the mid 60's this week! Yay! Come on out here and visit!
