Swing on in, it's Monday...Morning All :)... yes, it's that time again.. I'm gonna be up to my eye balls in running (not me ) in and out and going through the house to make sure all has been checked off that list.. oh and that nervous energy that just makes you say things... I mean they just pop on out of your mouth...mmmm I mean to tell you .. the excitement builds and the energy flows and the words .. you know the ones you never thought you could say...yeah, they just flow...Oh lordy, I sure am gonna say a lot of "Forgive meez :)

Tomorrow we load the dog food..Oh yeah ! 400lbs of it and then the dog cookies (5) 10lb boxes..not to speak of the water.. so we don't have a problem. That's already in the frig in jugs...now for us.. a few meals to just pop into the microwave .. oh yeah and I'll have the crock pot going for a pot roast dinner..yep, put that baby in the sink with a towel and we'll be just fine and dandy.... and the huge bag of Apples.. the ones me and my critters share ...Have ya check my small cargo over... just imagine how people look at us when we unload..a lot of gasping... You ask why....cause I can't get their dog food in the state of Florida...but I'm working on it...cause this gets old...especially on the back...

Ok, speaking of which.. let's see what's about with our Sista's.....

Asirimarco (Carol) Loved that Pioneer Chores... some how I feel like I'm on a wagon...but really neat.. they do the dress up and show how things were done.. in fact I do believe the Amish still do things that way...but you are right.. I don't think I'd make it either..can just see my DH dressed like that and doing that kind of work.. Ha! when he bitches about just loading the rig.. hahahahaha

Oh and by the way do check out Carol's tip.. in Gadgets and Gizmos.. have use that product( not same brand) for a long time when we did the dog shows cross country.. not all of us were avid milk drinkers and worked great for coffee.. (not a canned milk liker either)

Fernie, good to see you got your computer fixed... it's tough when ya had to use the ole puter...and slow ain't the word...like that fast action and that flexibility.. LOL Glad you are back in the swing of leaning back and typing LOL

MollysMom (Trudy) Cougarfan (Laura) and Karen...got it together..of course we're waiting on pictures..but Trudy.. you got to scope out your next campground now that's pretty good... and oh, the Sea.. isn't it amazing...I love seeing it, and hearing the sounds come off it... and when she's rough.. oh man the foam on those waves.. Yikes... but glad I'm not in it !!
Trudy, can't wait to hear of your next adventure....Always full of surprises ....

SeeyaGal (Jenny and Dan) Wow, just reading about your Storm.. goodness I just get really nervous..been through them kinds in fact the one we had the night the Tornado set down..Fernie, I'm sure you remember that one ! My motor home was rockin and boy the wind was rough.. yeah Jenny, no one can sleep through that.. in fact I make it a point when I hear it's gonna be a bad storm I bring the slides in... just never like the thought of possible air lift eeek ! Now about all this crabbing.. do ya freeze it ? what do you make with it..? Anxious to hear ... and I do know what it's like pickin crab ... fingers get numb after awhile..

Avalen (Ava) thanks for that gas spotter... that's what I call them ... Always great to have as you are making a trip... Not sure about the Gas situation in the Carolina's and Georgia.. have heard there were shortages...but will check our area for sure...

DpF....(Pat) a 30 pk ? Girlfriend you is sure thirsty... by the way.. I think I remember awhile back you said you were going out in your "New" camper for a weekend... looked back and don't think we caught a glimps...?????? Got cha ....:)

Cedar, anxious to hear how your adventure went visiting that Museum at Blue Mt. Lake.. Isn't it neat when you know of someone's family members have done such neat things .. that it becomes a part of history....

Marslet (Sharlotte) thanks for the call... I always enjoy talking with you and glad to hear you had a great time at the lake.. and I just now that little tiny fur baby is just as snug as a bug.. and got you and Jim well trained already LOL oh yeah.. Hey, Sharlotte....a 20lb bag would last you maybe 6mos or better LOL

RetiredHappy (Karen) Gosh I sure hope you make out alright with those windows..perhaps another manufacturer can help.. something very similar..it's a bugger when ya have to wait on someone...and they seem to drag their feet... in the mean time I sure hope no heavy rain..

Redetotry (BJ) so nice to hear from you.. and I'll say you are enjoying that Mac.. it is a neat little thingy.. and doesn't it amaze you how much you can do with it.. aaaah you like that espresso.. me too... but I really can't have it any more.. too strong for me .. makes me rush.. wait, I might use it for tomorrow LOL but I do make an Espresso Chocolate Cake... and it's a hummmm dinger too !! Don't let your dreams go by the way side, BJ.. I'd like that TT too.. just even having it parked by a lake would be nice...that's my DH's dream when he retires.. when I put that picture together he told me.. "See, that's what I mean, that's camping " he'd have him his fishing pole and be up next to a tree.. hahahaha.. visions of Tom Sawyer flashed in my head ...

Gentleladybear (Nan) Haven't seen you around in awhile..sure hope all is well with you and family.. and hope things are going ok on the job.. I'll be heading down your way.. So hopefully we can get together..

Liz, bundle up.. and head south !! Waiting on ya :)

Carolinagal (Carol).. You too! now I'm gonna be sure anxious for our GTG .. and any of you that are in the Florida Area...we sure can muster up some good fiddles and sure gab till our jaws drop... Love meeting you too... all of you !!!

RVGranny (Lori and Ernie) sure hope that race was a good one ...cause that football game with the Eagles and the Redskins..went belly up .. bummer..Eagles sure ain't spreadin' them wings... yucko

Bethers you and Peaches sound like you had a great day.. I mean a great day .. and to just lean back and relax.. that's a good one too...aaaaaah but soon you will be buzzing with all those Sista's showing up for the Texas GTG .. it's gonna be a "Hoot"... and I seen that thingy about heading to Alaska.. I didn't miss it... but I'm lookin at maybe getting a group of us from the East Coast in doing a trip but flying up and taking that tour.. thinking about it...as don't think gas prices for us are gonna drop ..we have seen the way it's gonna be... and our big rigs suck it up like water.......ok... enjoy and wish I was with all of ya !!

Sunseeker (Jill and Tommy) sure hope all is ok.. check in with us if ya can...

Ok, Sista's I'm thirsty now..after reading all that crabbing and storm.. Yikes... Trudy, yeah did you have a bad storm where you were ?.....batten down them hatches..

Coffee is on.. Echo, Cedar, Ava...mmmm where is Mtntophounds (Mollie) you is missing in action .. hope all is alright with ya ... plenty of room at the table ya know... Coffee is smelling sure goood !! and oh I have Corn Muffins.. toasted too...

PS any one hear from Khenri (Kim) have to drop her a quick note to make sure she is ok..

Sista's it's that time and I've got to put the chairs in the wagon... I'll be gone for a few and I know between Echo, Cedar, Ava, and RV Granny... you all will be in good hands... I'll miss ya but it will take me a bit to get things together.. So please keep clicking on that Breast Cancer Awareness... Let's do help others.. it comes back to you in 10 fold !!

May your Adventures be Great Ones and your Journey be Safe too !!

God Bless

Thanks for asking Barbzeee! I have just been very busy! Fall break is here in a couple of weeks and Scotty is wanting to take a little trip. We shall see I guess. I have been working on the house here the last couple of weekends. Since I have summers off I normally do my deep cleaning then. Well, we went and got the camper and I spent most of my time in it. My house was in sore need of a good cleaning. ICK! Well, its time to get everyone started for the day. Take care all!!!!!

Goooood Morning to all.

Just time for a quick note this morning. I got up at 5:45, did my morning thing, grabbed coffee on the way thru the kitchen, took Shade out to do her thing, refilled the mug and sat down to read. Read some and dozed back off sitting here at the kitchen table. Kelly woke me up when something went crash in her room! I'm pooped this morning. It's gonna be a loooooooooooong day. I hate working until 9 on Sunday nights to only get back up and go back in by 8.

Good post this morning Barbz, nice long one and you've been keeping up with everyone a whole lot better than I have. :D

Hope everyone has a great day and stays safe!!

Love to all

Good morning all - love the picture this a.m. - I think the fall colors are by far my favorite colors.
It is just before 8 a.m. here and it is just now starting to get light. Whats with that? I thought I was getting up real early as it was so dark out.
Just realized we will be leaving for another short trip Wednesday (I was thinking it was a week from Wed.) OOPS guess I'd better get on the ball. The solar panels still haven't showed up at the RV place - so told Bill to call them and be sure to tell them if they arrive in the next couple of days not to do anything. As we will be picking Alfie up again Wed. We're going to the Covered Bridge Festival in Parke County Indiana - just 100 miles from here. But love it there. Will put a lot of miles on the jeep. Thank goodness for digital cameras or I"d own Kodak. Got my laptop set up to use a wireless printer (if we have wi-fi) also ran a clean up on it and will do the same for my PC later today.
Did I mention that when we were on our last trip somehow the door to extra freezer in the garage was left open just enough for everything in it to defrost. Trash day tomorrow - going to be an expensive dump. Off to Sams Club tomorrow to replace stuff.
Have a good trip to Florida (watch the gas tank) and waiting to hear from you.

Typical school thingy for emails and blogs, etc. i'll catch up on the pictures when I get back home this evening. But for now just wanted to say Good Morning to everyone.

Yesterday was a great day,...but cloudy and cold. Didn't make for nice pictures, dang it,.... and there were some views i really wanted colorful and sunny. What's that famous saying,...."maybe next year?" haha... :D

Have a great day everyone,.. and Zeeee,.... please do have someone else tug and lift on all that dogfood! :o

well good morning ladies
would have been nice to have slept in but my body clock said get up, and so did
the furbabies. Its very cool this morning, had to put my robe on just to keep the
chill off. It will warm up soon as the sun comes up. Gonna be out in the shed
re-arranging stuff today as I like stuff to be accessible and not buried if I need
it. Its time to pull out my electric heater for those nights where it just gets too
chilly to sleep comfortably. I didn't get propane ordered on this paycheck so it
will have to wait til next payday but I will take one of the portable bottles down
myself and get it filled just in case we have a really cold snap. Anything under
80 degrees makes me and furbabies dig out the blankets. I remember too well
the cold in my Colorado days and certainly don't want to get my arthritis to flair.
Coffee is ready and I'll watch a litle news and be ready for my day.
Have a great day ladies, and Barbz the picture is so cute, just love the little
scarecrow, but makes wonder why all scarecrows are guys, I've never seen
a girlie scarecrow.

Morning All, just putzing around this morning. It is cloudy and cool in Maryland. Ava, you did it now. I wouldn't be surprised to see a girlie scarecrow sometime soon. :) I am court appointed guardian for my father and stepmother and the court requires a yearly report. I can not put it off any longer so today is the day. I am going to put on some jazzy music and getter done. Barb, I am impressed, you are almost ready to roll. You will need your months in Florida to recoup. :P

Morning ladies. Its raining this morning. Fortunately for my leaking windows its a light rain so they're not leaking. Started raining around 2:30 am. Heard it and jumped out of bed to close all the windows I had open. I love it when the nights get cool enough to open all the windows and let the breeze blow through. Its always hard to get Sassy to walk and do her business when its raining. For a part Lab, she doe NOT like getting wet. Buddy, on the other hand, never seems to even notice its wet. Defrosted the RV frig yesterday. Only thing I miss from my house - a self-defrosting frig. Lined the curtains I had put up in the bedroom after noticing you could see thru them at night. Need to get the RV safety inspected this month which means disconnecting, securing EVERYTHIING inside and driving to the inspection place. What a pain! Okay, guess I can't put off walking the dogs in the rain any longer. Hope everybody has a great day.

Good morning ladies, I've been pretty busy lately and only popped in a couple of times, but it's sure nice to sit at Barbzee's kitchen table again. My mug is in hand and I'm trying to catch up on what you've all been up to.

I took a mini vacation last week without bf or dogs, to Vicksburg, MS. I had envisioned touring the antebellum homes and battlefields, but was parked at a fhu (comfortable) casino lot so didn't venture too far at all. I did a little gambling and tried out their 3 restaurants, walked alot and spent hours just propping my feet up and reading about Merle. What a pleasant diversion that was!!! Tommy would like to go next time, so we'll try to get the touring thing in then. It's about 3 hours from our home.

I am pleased as punch to announce my 32-year-old son has finally asked his sweetheart for her hand, and she said, "yes". They became engaged 2 weeks ago and I'm still all tickled about the news. I had expected it for quite awhile, so it wasn't a total shock. He is certainly getting a prize and she'd hold a special place in my heart even if she weren't to become his bride. They finally announced a wedding date, aug. 15 of next year, so there's not lots of time to plan a large extravagant affair, but they are in favor of keeping it small anyway. She is from W. Virginia so they will get married there. His family and friends are all from MI and Chicago so it's most likely most of them won't be able to attend...hopefully it will be video taped. They are also planning a MI reception at a later date.

On a sad note...Molly has been sporting a growth on her side for over a week now, and her vet appointment is today. It might help if all you gals send up a little prayer for us. I'll keep you posted.

Ah, to be so happy on one hand and terrified on the other. :?

Morning, All......
Well, we were going to go site-seeing today, but if any of you have seen the weather today, you know there's a big storm heading this way....70% chance of rain today upping to 80% this evening. So we've decided just to sit and wait on the rain......Ernie is doing his walk....those that have met him know that he walks all the time..... He's worried about weither to take the awning up or not.....keeps coming in asking me what I think......I tell him it is up to him..... The winds are to be a little gusty, but not bad.....but if he asks one more time, I'm telling him to put it up.....

We did a little drive around Ft. Chaffee on Saturday......interesting place.....it was a WWII training camp and Prison camp for German POWs.......the camp host here is very knowledgeble and has told us some of it's history.....maybe we'll do another drive around so I can take some photos.....it is now an Army National Guard training center.....yeap, heard "the sounds of Freedom" over the weekend as they were doing training.....

Okay, talked here more than normal today.....got to get back to those baby afghans.......

Have a great day, all..... :D

Yesterday would have been my mom and dad's 64th anniversary if he was still alive, so I took her to Anthony''s Fish Grotto for dinner. She had a great time and even flirted a little with the young, handsome waiter. She even recalled their 50th when John and I took them to Laughlin, NV and waiters at the restaurant sang to them.

I’m getting my teeth cleaned Tuesday and will leave here Wednesday sometime, hoping to get as far as Gila Bend, AZ that afternoon. There’s a wonderful campground there out in the middle of nowhere with lots of petroglyphs and beautiful sunsets. Since I’ve only got a limited amount of money to spend getting to Kansas, and most of its going to have to be for gas, I’ve been looking into all kinds of inexpensive or free places to camp overnight besides the usual Wal-Marts, Cracker Barrels, and casino parking lots. I’ll meet my bicycling buddy Steve (Jenny, I DID meet him at L.O.W. in Tucson) at Manzano State Park near Albuquerque, NM for a day or so, then head up to Santa Fe to see a friend from high school. From there I’ll try to hit part of Texas and Oklahoma before Kansas. Need to fill in a few more states on the map.

Yesterday Lou and I took two of the pups to the desert again, as we’ve done every Sunday for the past three weeks, and explored some slot canyons we’d found last week. One of them went on forever and included some rock climbing and dog-lifting. Good thing Sh’ Tzus are small. We finally came out at the top and could see all over – it looked like a mini-Grand Canyon! Perfect weather, lots of little birds overhead, and I left my camera in the car. I told him he’d have to do it again next week and send me pictures.

I finally need to sit down today and write up my evaluation of the season at the lodge, including a request for a nice raise in salary. According to our boss, Adam and I made a hell of an impression on the group as a whole. They've been saying we are everything they've ever wanted, and that for the first time in years, felt like they were welcome in their own facility. It's great to hear things like that, and even better, to be encouraged to raise the price tag on that welcome mat a little higher.

I picked up an excellent book at the zoo last week, "Last Child in the Woods," which I'd wanted to buy for a long time but never got around to it. The author, Richard Louv, chairman of the Children and Nature Network, says this: "The children and nature movement is fueled by this fundamental idea: the child in nature is an endangered species, and the health of children and the health of the Earth are inseparable." I remember while growing up, we played outside most of the time, exploring vacant lots, climbing trees, riding bikes, building tree houses and forts, playing baseball, and so forth. But even though my daughters still did things like that (they're now in their mid- to-late-thirties), my 20-year-old son's generation spent the majority of their time inside for various reasons such as watching a lot of TV, playing computer games, and parents' fears. The author stresses that even though parents always tell their kids to go play outside, lately there are fewer, if any, places to just play that aren't controlled in some way by rules such as condo and home owner association regulations, city ordinances, and so forth. There's a fear of lawsuits, of injury, and of strangers. I think it's very sad that children (and adults) are missing out on such wonderful experiences, so am appreciating the book quite a lot.
