SNOWY THURSDAY MORNING

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SNOWY THURSDAY MORNING

Postby Colliemom » Thu Jan 06, 2011 8:12 am

It's 8 a.m. in the morning and nobody's on here yet... Well, then I guess I have to make the coffee and get things rolling. Not much in the line of breakfast here though, so you will have to make your own.

Snowy morning out there this morning. But this is Northern Michigan and this is a snowbelt area, so what else is new. Actually it's been a pretty wimpy winter so far, but it can come roaring back at anytime. The businesses who rely on winter sports other than the ski areas who make snow, can really use a good shot of snow.

I enjoyed a beautiful walk in the snowy woods with the furbabies yesterday, as we had a light snowfall the night before. That real light fluffy dry snow. And with the blue sky and sunshine, that snow was just sparkling all over. Like walking in a field of diamonds. And you could also see the colors of the spectrum in the snow as well. Blues, greens, reds etc. Just awesome. Unfortunatly, not able to take a picture as it just doesn't show up like that on the camera. But it looked like somebody had just sprinkled glitter all over the snow.

Today however, the only thing I will be seeing, at least for the morning is a dust cloth and vacum  That time of the week again. Then we will take out daily walk in the afternoon, but this time in falling snow as it is supposed to snow through Saturday morning. Good scrapbooking weather.

Just finished getting caught up on the Welcome posts to all the new members. Hope I didn't miss anybody. Such an exciting bunch of new folks comng aboard. Going to be fun reading about all their adventures and also will get the rest of us excited about future adventures of our own. I'm already thing "spring'.

So off to the housework  and get this day going. Will dream while I clean ;)

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Rain overnight and early this morning, with some thunderstorms thrown in to cause Molly to make a dive for under my bed! We sure did need that rain, but it also made roads dangerous for the early-morning commuters, and there was a plethora of accidents and traffic jams out there on those damnable highways. I hope my son and Melissa made it safely to work. It's looking like clearing off this afternoon, so I may head back to the trailer then with this air bed on a frame for Melissa's grandmother to use this weekend. She and Melissa's parents and dog are coming by train from Tampa to St. Cloud tomorrow evening and returning on Sunday. It will be fun for me to meet her grandmother, who is 98 years old!

My new cell phone arrived yesterday morning, a day early, via Fedex, and in just a few minutes, they had all my prepaid units transferred to it and activated! So I am up and running once again, with another two months of service added before I need to renew or add any more units. I also got 60 more minutes added as part of the purchase price of the phone-----$19.99! The only thing I miss about my old phone is my ringtone, so I will go online and download one I like better than what came on this one. This one paired up with my Sync program in my truck way easier than my old phone, and all my address book contacts also transferred to the truck. All in all, I guess it was a good loss, other than my brand new sweat pants!

I also found a notary yesterday, a bike ride down the road, so I got my mineral rights contract for North Dakota notarized and ready to drop in a Fedex drop box in St. Cloud. Molly and I went for a nice walk around the neighborhood, and I did some trimming of the shrubs and flowers in front of the house that got frozen last month. I need to get the tree saw/trimmer/lopper that Goog has so I can trim the palm trees here. I also need to get my stapler back from them so I can block off my soffits and the holes the squirrels have made to access my house!

It's still nice and warm outside, in the 60s, although they are calling this a cold front that passed through. I like this kind of coldfront!

Sarah, great news about your CT scan! I had no idea what you were getting tests for, and was afraid to ask, but it sounds as if this litle balloon on the aorta is just a little glitch that bears watching, as you say. I knew a guy who had one for nearly his whole life, and it never seemed to change. For all I know, I may have one myself, and would never know unless they make CT scans a regular part of a yearly checkup. I think this would be a great idea, actually.

Hope you all are comfy wherever you are, and that you will have a fun day. Coffee is hot, Hazlenut flaored with vanilla creamer, so stop by and tell us a word or two.

Happy travels!

It's 5:30 a.m. here in the Pacific Northwest. I am up early due to a dream that woke me...apparently I was ready to wake up anyway...the dream was sooo silly....I worked for a company large, like Boeing, my boss told me he found out we were only getting nine hams a month instead of the ten promised hams (can you believe it, hams!) So, he told me to call and take care of it. I couldn't find their phone number and he was watching me and seeing that I wan't getting the task done, so he came out and yelled at me and slammed his door. Woke me right up! Silly, huh?

Pineapple Express is on it's way across the ocean from Hawaii. BUT!!! this time the jet stream is sending it to nothern British Columbia where it will fall on the moose, and they love being wet. Our freezing weather is gone, now it's mild and not raining. headed to town today to buy a few needed items then take a walk on the beach.

Good Day to all! Kathy

Good-morning Ladies !!

Not much news from here, just wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone, and hope everyone will have a great day in spite of weather or anything else.
Speaking of weather, we have expected snow again starting tonight, supposedly 2 1/2 inches. Last time we were told 2 inches, I ended up with 12 here, so Maggie and I, went yesterday and stocked up on her food and I needed just a couple of things for me, so we're all set. However many inches of snow accumulates outside, won't stop the projects inside. Still loads of paperwork to go through and throw. That is not a job, I can do every day, not interesting reading, just boredom but very necessary to make sure I don't throw something that might be needed later on. I have other fun things I can do too, so it won't be all hard labor here :)

My only concern about the weather is Monday morn. early I have a dr. visit, so I am hoping the roads are cleared and safe enough to drive on. This area is really bad for Black Ice, and its a 25 miles trip to drs.office, which won't be fun with that stuff. So I am trying not to think about it

I hope you all will have a wonderful day, do something nice for yourself, The endless daily chores, will wait for you :P
On to read of someone else's exciting life ,
CArol :)

Good Morning to All - I see it is supposed to start snowing again in Indiana but here in Mazatlan it looks like it will be another beautiful day. so far it's been around the high 70s during the day and low 60s at night. No fog, beautiful sunsets and sunrises.
And today for the first time in a week I feel human. Have not had a cold as bad as that for years. I complain to The Driver when he gets a cold and spends a couple days in bed. How can you be so sick from a cold? Well I'll keep my mouth shut from now on and be a little more patient with him.
Didn't even leave the RV yesterday - in fact I slept most of the day. Couldn't find my camera last night - discovered I'd left it in my purse and hadn't even taken my last pictures off it. Watched the movie It's Complicated with Meryl Streep and Alex Baldwin last night - kind of cute. Bought it here so it had Spanish subtitles -
Hopefully today we'll get out and about a little bit. Need to check out my pictures and do a little posting too.
Hope everyone has a good day where ever you are.

Carol, glad to hear you are feeling better. My theory is that we get the bad cold every once in a while..or food poisoning or sinus infection....even if once a decade.....just to keep us humble so that we can understand the pain of those that DO get sick more often. Every "body" has it's own strengths and weakness (nature/nurture) so not everything is under our direct control. I count my blessings of health when I can. :)

It is a bright sunny morning here, and that sun is showing a lot of dust so guess what I'll be doing later. The dogs will be so happy vacuuming is their favorite thing. Winnie has been fine since her sick spell yesterday morning, back to being as bossy as ever. She bullys my Standard Poodle Charley something awful and he is so patient. She's decided he shouldn't sleep behind the couch as we watch TV so she fusses and then barks at him until he moves in front of the couch where she wants him.
The woman I bought Charley from said the older bitches taught the new puppies manners so guess he got used to being bossed by a female early in life! Hummm maybe boys aren't bossed enough at a young age by their mothers. I bought Charley from a show kennel in Ocala and IF I make it to the FL GTG I hope to visit and show his first Mom pictures of him through the years.

I hope you don't get much snow Carol and for Carol in the sunshine I'm glad you are feeling better. My DH has had a terrible cold and thankfully he is also on the mend.
Just went for a drink and noticed Winnie has positioned herself in front of the closet where I keep the vacuum, I must have sent out vibes!
Well best get to work.

Good Morning to all... I got up very early only had about 3 hours of sleep this rain does a number on me... went back to bed at 9 and the phone rang at 9:20 they have my extended stay kit in and it will be installed on Monday afternoon (good for me afternoon)... turned on my mattress pad warmer and laid their until 11... will have to unhook and go get LP and some groceries today... may simply stay in wall mart parking lot if it is to late... now that I know I can use my furnace without generator...
The sun is shining today after the more than gloomy day yesterday and the rain thunder lightning and falling branches... so glad Shadow does not jump at the noises... he is a good guy just lays there and sleeps...
Sure glad the colds are getting better... it is hard to see someone ill but it is even harder to be ill!!!
I trust everyone is enjoying their day..

Good Morning
Soos - Just heard that a web cam has been installed in Lillie's new den and that researchers think she is now expecting with twins. They did not give the web address.
Some routine stuff to take care of today and maybe more sorting/drying stuff in garage. Got a lot accomplished Sunday thru Tuesday but yesterday was a bust - totally lacking ambition. A late start but I expect to do better today.
Forecasters are talking about potentially dangerous icy conditions coming in over weekend. Sure hope they are wrong about that.
Wishing all a safe warm day.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Oh goodness the sun is out there shining it's little heart out! I'm loving it!! Of course most everything is still covered with snow and ice, but Mr Sunshine is working at getting rid of it. At least he's worked hard enough to help thaw out my pipes. Temp outside right now is 43f. Ahhhhhhh

Only thing semi exciting that is gonna happen here is to wash up a big batch of dishes and then sorting and cleaning. ~sigh~ Such is MY exciting life. Good thing some of you do interesting things so that I can enjoy them. ;)

Carol in NC hope ya don't get hammered again with a bunch of snow!!! And Carol in MX, so glad to read that your feeling better!!! When Kelly was little she use to get ear aches. The X, her father would get very exasperated with her and I. He had NEVER had an ear ache in his life and couldn't under stand why all the whimpering, crying and why I would baby her. Not to long before the doctor put tubes in her ears her father ended up with an ear ache!!! He sure sang a different tune then. ;) But yeah it's hard sometimes to be patient with someone when it's been so long from having whatever yourself!!!

OK enough blathering!! Time to get 'semi' busy in here! Will of course do a little reading and catching up first! Hope ya all have a great day and be safe while your at it!!

Love to all

A sunny day today and already 64 degrees! Have to work this afternoon but a shorter shift today. Still not feeling good with this intestinal thing going on :( I hope it runs it's course soon!

During the night, I thought I felt an earthquake, just a quick jolt. This morning I wasn't sure if it really happened or was just a dream so I checked on the Earthquake map on-line, but no earthquakes overnight. Just a dream...

Tomorrow I am supposed to go on a hike in the morning with a Meet-Up group but will have to see how I am feeling then. I would really love to go tho! It is in a park up in the hills near where that gourd farm is. Very pretty area!

My roommate has been talking on the phone with the guy she met last week on eHarmony. They talk for hours at a time! Sounds like a good match so far! He lives in LA so not sure when they will finally get together to meet in person. Am interested to see how this all goes...

Well, I better get ready for work now. Luckily, only 4 1/2 hour shift today. I think I can get thru that OK with some more Immodium!

PS> More mass bird deaths in Sweden and fish kills on the East Coast...what the heck is going on?? Environmental issues or???
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I hadn't heard about any positive pregnancy, or anything about twins, but I know Lily and Hope are bedded down in the same den for the winter. The new den cam is set up here:

http://www.bear.org/livecams/lily-hope-cam.html

And it will very interesting to see what Hope will do if LIly is really pregnant. Usually, a yearling cub does not have to share her mom with tiny new siblings, as mother bears don't come into heat again for two years, if they remain with their cub. I am really hoping it won't be a masacre in that den that we will all be watching!! Sibling rivalry can be quite intense and viscious, especailly with one of the cubs being a yearling. They do inow that LIly was with a male during the times she was away from Hope and not nursing to ward off estrus. It's quite possible she is going to give birth very soon, if she did get prego.

I have been watching, but hibernating bears are none too exciting!
