Hello from Michigan

Come on in and say hello.

Hello from Michigan

Postby CampingBug » Wed Jan 05, 2011 10:22 pm

Hi everyone! My husband and I are from SW Michigan and enjoy camping 7-8 months of the year. We have a 32' Sunnybrook fifth wheel and find opportunities to use it as much as possible, given work schedules. We started camping a number of years ago in popup trailers on and off. Then in 2002, we bought a 27' travel trailer and decided to buy our current fifth wheel in 2004. We do most of our camping in Michigan but have ventured as far as South Dakota to the west, the Poconos to the east and Orlando to the south. We look forward to be able to go full-time someday (it's a goal anyway).

When we go camping, I keep a journal with information about the campground and the things we do while we are there. My husband and I looked for a program that would allow me to do this on the computer and were not able to find one. So my husband developed a program for me - The Ultimate Campground Log! And we would like to share it with others (no charge). I contacted Beth (website administrator) about posting a link to our website. She said that she would and encouraged me to become an active member so here I am.

Hi! I'm so glad you joined. I was about to go ahead and post about your software anyway - but now I'm even more willing to do so. Everyone - this lady didn't want to join and have everyone think she did so just to promote her software - but she is a fellow rver and has so much to share - PLUS she and her hubby developed this wonderful software. I've just been finally playing with it and know i'm going to be using it - check it out: The Ultimate Campground Log. They only ask for a donation if you decide it's for you. Meanwhile, whether it is or not - I'm glad to have you as a member - you'll be such a valuable asset to our forum - expecially if you like like-minded, wild and crazy women :)

Hello Michigan,

Kentucky here....I am also a newbie, but wanted to add my welcome to you.

I checked out your trip journal and it looks AWESOME ! My husband and I are about to begin our RV journey in April and this sort of thing is just what the doctor ordered. I will be using it and making a donation soon.

Looking forward to getting to know you and learning more about your travels. :D

Hi there CampingBug,

Finally, another Michigander has joined up. Get's lonsesome out here being the only one for awhle here :) I'm from way up in Northern Michigan near Gaylord. I just bought a new Rockwood Mini LIte trailer last summer and am still getting used to hauling the thing around, but I've enjoyed it so far. Can't wait to get going again this year.

I love the looks of your software and will be downloading it in awhile here. That will help me keep up a journal of where I've been and want to go. Looking forward to reading of your adventures so far.

During the summer last year I took a number of short 2 day trips up to Aloha State Park and one to Fayette State Park. I go on my days off from my job as a building maintenance worker at Otsego Lake State Park during the summers. This year I am hoping to spend at least a week up in the UP going from park to park, but probably not tlll fall.

So if you happen to be camping at Otsego Lake, give me a holler. I'll be running around in the yellow topped Gator. :)

Welcome to the forum! I sent your link to my good friend, Nick Russell, editor of the Gypsy Journal Newspaper. If he mentions it in his blog, you'll get LOTS of visitors and maybe some new users. Good luck with it!

Welcome Campingbug, from another Michigander, who hasn't lived there since childhood, but there is always something in your soul about your birth state. I have relatives and friends all over the state, so visit when I can.

So glad you found us. If you ever are able to attend one of our GTG's, I think you would really enjoy meeting some of the ladies here. We have a thread on the forum here about when and where and who. Please join in on any of the topics, we always love other opinions, and humor.

Glad you've joined this crazy bunch,
CArol :)
