Greetings from a fellow elementary school teacher, Vivian!

It's good to have another educator around -- it'll help keep those careless spellers in line. Actually there are quite a few educators on our forum, but most of them have hung up their chalk and gradebooks. Unfortunately I'm not one of them but am counting the days until I can toss my lunch pail in the trash.

You've joined a great bunch of gals here, and I hope you find them as amusing as we find ourselves. We'll look forward to swapping stories with you.

Hi Vivian, glad you joined the forum, even after reading, makes me wonder. Yep, like Beth said, we had a great get together at Petit Jean SP last year, beautiful country up there! Yes, I said UP THERE, I'm in SW Louisiana, there are other members scattered around this South Central US area too. And it doesn't matter how often you get to escape in your RV, everyone has something to contribute, so jump right in and join us.

Hi Vivan, i am from your neigboring state, OKlahoma but I'm full-timing and call Texas home now. Yes we did have a great time at Petit Jean SP. It was awesome. Dang too bad you were not here in Sept cuz you would have loved coming over for a bit, I am sure. Just remember that it is never to early to start practicing the art of retirement. We will expect to see some pics of your travels in that lovely state.

Welcome! I am a ways from retiring and also from owning an RV. Looking forward to when I can do both! Just dreamin' for now... I just moved from MN to CA and am loving it! Have been on here for a year now and have made lots of great friends so far! We love stories and photos! Do you have any pets? We love those too!

Another one of the retired educators. I purchased the RV 4 months before my retirement after 30 years ....I when ahead and bought so that I would not forget and sign up and teach "just a few more years...." I was able to spend a lot of time supporting my father before he passed and then began traveling and learning about the RV traveling lessons in shorter trips before I head off for the longer ones..... I also learned to pay off some of my debits so that my retirement would cover my dreams..... well that plus some seasonal work for gas money! See you down the road.....
