Tuesday tea ...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday tea ...

Postby Getupngo » Tue Jan 04, 2011 4:40 am

Good morning all ... although it's still night for me here. I'm a bit insomniac tonight and so I thought I'd help the rest of you welcome the dawn.

So, the coffee's on ... with hot cinnamon rolls steaming from the oven. Come sit at my table and await the sun.

GOOD MORNING JANICE AND ALL!

You sure are up early! Molly says HI to Kiwi, too! I usually don't eat breakfast, but those cinnamon rolls are making my mouth water!

It's another warm, nice morning dawning here in Central FL. This is what I envisioned FL winter weather would be like.....I LOVE it!

I ordered my new TracFone from their internet site yesterday, after checking out a few stores that sell TracFones and not finding the model I wanted. I called TracFone, and they said that once I get my new phone, it shouldnt be difficult to transfer my other units to the new one----we shall see! Last time I bought a new one, at least I had the old one with the exact number of units on it, but this time, I am going by guessing. The last time I looked I had about 2470 units still left on it, and my renewal date was August 11, 2011. I wouldn't have had it in my pocket if a friend hadn't called during our difficult cruise home in the howling gale conditions that came up on Lake Marian! The noise of the wind and the water coming over our deck made my last conversation on that phone a memorable one!

It is due to get here via Fedex on Thursday, and I will have to sign for it. That means I will stick around here until it comes, charge it up, hopefully get my units transferred, and be back in business. I have plenty to do here (Orlando house) until it gets here.

I may have to go to the vet clinic down the street to get some stuff to put on Molly's itchies-----not sure what is causing them, no fleas, but she must be allergic to something as she is digging her belly raw in places. I drove back to the house to get some Panalog to put on her yesterday, and will check those spots again today, but I am almost out of it. She also needed to have her flea/tick stuff applied and her heartworm meds given. What is totally amazing to me is the lack of insects, other than fire-ants, down here at this time of year. I can leave all doors and windows open and no bugs come in! You can sit out at night and not get bitten by anything! This is definitely NOT like the Adirondacks!

Today I will take down my outside house lights and balls, and store them until next year. I plan to leave my fake tree up until after Goog's birthday, as maybe they will come here to celebrate. I will bake a cake if they do, as I have an oven here!

Hope you all have a good day doing something fun after you stop by for some fresh coffee-----I look forward to the latest news from you all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Up at 4:00 this morning, menopausal insomnia, at 58 you'd think it would be all over but still not through that whole thing.

Today is the last day of sunshine and magnificence here on the Oregon coast, gonna start raining again tomorrow. It's been down in the hight 20's at night so even with the "Polar Package" I have been leaving water running through my lines at night...don't want any expensive burst pipe problems when it's easily avoided by running the water.

Yesterday I stood on a cliff looking straight down into the water and saw a single porpoise cruising around in the swells, I could see right down on top as it was underwater. I thought it odd that it was a loner, then I saw the HERD!!! out further, feeding frenzie was exciting to watch. I grew up on the ocean so I have seen them many times, but it's aways just as exciting every time. The gray whales are going by out about a mile and I've been "whale spout watching" for the last few fabulous sunny days. At that distance you see the spout then a quick shine as the sun hits their body for that fleeting moment. They actually came in closer for the same feed the porpoises were enjoying. I have my sea lion spots all figured out so I frequent them, very entertaining, they are considerably more limber than one would think as far as being able to climb those rocks in no time at all.

I sat in the hot sun and actually got some color on my face...amazing for this time of year.

A Good and Safe Day to All. Kathy

Good morning to All - I'm sitting here watching the sun come up from behind the palm trees. Just a few of the birds are making noise,
I've had/have the mother of all colds. Haven't had one in years so it is making up for that. The whole works - very sore throat -at least that part is over now - I'm starting to look like Rudolf and sound like a jack hammer. So haven't been doing much the last couple of days. Yesterday was the worst day but right now I feel pretty good - so hopefully I'm on the downhill side of it. Thank goodness for my nook. Downloaded a couple of "High Heel" series books - good to read when your concentration is not all there and you just want to smile. They are about a 20/30sih woman who has wacky friends and is always sticking her nose wehre it shouldn't be.
Need to do some catching up - didn't even look at the laptop yesterday.
Good weather to all and safe travels.,

Hope you are on the mend Carol, I was wondering how you were feeling. My husband has a terrible cold, yesterday he thought he was going to the gym and he could hardly move! He changed his mind pretty quick after being up for awhile. I'll have to check out the High Heel books I like to have fun books to read.
Soos your sunshine sounds good, and you sound happy I think Florida and being around your family agrees with you! Kathy hope you start to sleep better. Thanks for the cinnamon rolls Janice! Now I want a REAL one.

Good Morning everyone... it will be a nice day again today... hopefully some sun... oh Soos Shadow itches all of the time... no fleas either... my neighbor gives her dog oil every day she says it does help... I think the dogs are allergic to something in the sand or grass...
They did not get my extended stay materials in so maybe tomorrow... I am at a place of questioning as I cannot carry an extra lp tank in the MH so where on earth could I carry it... think I need to just use the parks tanks when I am planted for a while...
I will try to do some more laundry again... this time I have change enough to dry everything... it would be so nice if they had large washers but only regular sized ones... do not know where a laundromat is so will simply make the bed with the spread as it is...
It sounds like everyone is busy... enjoy every minute you have... life is: good at those times it flies by , full of trials and moves then so slowly... may everyone have a peace in their hearts as you go through this day

Well it is back to normal here. Hubby was off to work today. They were on this weird holiday schedule. The company his company is contracted with..does this thing..where if the holiday falls on a non workday. Then you get your paid holiday on a workday..but you don't work.
IE Christmas Eve/Christmas are paid holidays...since they were Friday/Saturday (this company office personal work a 4 day work week). Then they had Wed/Thu off prior to Christmas. New Years Day is a paid holiday. So he had yesterday off. So for the last 2 weeks he has had 5 day weekend and 4 day weekend. I do give him a hard time..as I never keep track of all of this tidbits of work stuff.

So I am trying to get into a better routine. Trying to balance things out better. One change we made..was Kodie was getting so distracted with school work..ie dining room table. That when we redid my scrapbook/craft room. We put a desk down there for her and moved all the school stuff down there. Some of it was kept down there anyway.

Well yesterday was day one in her new "school' room. It worked much better. There are not any distractions down there...no tvs, no toys, no computers, no coming and goings of the older kids.

Her new medication for helping her sleep is working. I doubt she will ever be an early to kid bed. But now she is asleep by 11:30 most nights. Currently I give her the medication at 11:00pm. I am working on backing her up. The first 2 weeks we gave it to her at 11:30 and now we are at 11:00. It now takes her 15-45 min to fall asleep.
Then in another week..we will work at maybe 10:30. It kinda got messed up with DH schedule. I am working on a strict routine with her. She gets ready for bed, has her medication and then gets 30 min of a cartoon. Then DH started letting her watch movies instead of a 20-30 min cartoon. So now it seems to take a bit longer. I told him that the routine is set. NO MOVIES..she can have a cartoon off "on demand". It has to be short one. Otherwise she fights the medication to stay awake.

Well i need to get off here. I told myself I was going to get back into my exercise routine. I have had my coffee and morning computer time and now I am off to exercise before the other kids get up.

Kathy, I sure enjoy watching all the porpoises, sea lions, whales etc. Am so glad you're enjoying it like you are. I never get tired of them.

Kris, glad that the new meds seem to be working and you're getting that bedtime schedule down. Even me, not on meds - if I put on a movie and I like it - I fight going to sleep and the next thing I know, I'm wide awake when the movie is over and up until who knows when. So, yep on that short cartoon :)

Hope everyone has a great day. I went shopping the other day and couldn't find my list. Missed a couple items (like dog food) so will head back out today for that. Still have a few days supply, but taking no chances. Peaches would be thrilled to "have" to eat people food, but not going to happen.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

I'm sorry for those who couldn't sleep last night, not fun. Last night for whatever reason I slept like a hibernating bear and sure didn't want to get up this morning. Shade had a hard time rousting me out of my blankies this morning so that she could go out. She finally resorted to trying to give my eyelids a through cleaning. I guess she was trying to get the 'sleepies' out! Gak! Whatever, it did the trick and I got up. :D

The sun is coming on hard this morning and goodness it's bright in here! When we went outside it was so bright that between the sun and snow I couldn't hardly see a thing! At least the idiot from across the lane didn't have his dog out running loose unsupervised this morning!!! Heard him whistling and hollering for it last night. Dog sounded like it was after something with all the loud barking. Apparently it's his habit to let the dog run loose? Really need to talk to the manager about it cause I sure the heck don't want the thing to go after Shade or be leaving piles in my site. They have 2 dogs and let the both of them run loose. Jodie said she chased a Pug out of her site that was ready to do it's thing. She is really fuming over the guy and now his dogs too! :x

The weather here is slowly improving here! It got warm enough in the trailer yesterday eve that I took off my sweatshirt and sneakers! I'm loving the warm up. Now if the warm up will just thaw out the dang pipes!!! Have been taking 'bird' baths in the bathroom sink since the weather turned so cold. Our shower leaks somewhere and there is NO heat in the camp ground showers/bathrooms. Also our hot water tank must be really tiny? I can barely get enough hot water to do dishes and that's about it!!

Nothing much else going on here. So I'll quit rambling and babbling and go off to catch up on other postings. Hope everyone has a good day and be sure to stay safe!

Love to all

Kathy, I hope you are taking pics of all these creatures to show us! Would love to see them!

Have had a lot of weird dreams the past couple nights! Last night I dreamt that there was a fear of Earth being destroyed and we all had to "fly" (like birds) to another planet to escape! I, along with a few others, decided to stay and take my chances here. I think that my have come from that story of those 5000 birds that fell out of the sky in Arkansas on New Years Eve. I just read about that last night, so thinking that triggered that dream! Strange how our subconscious mind works!

They just said on our news that there was another bird kill around Baton Rouge. This is weird. Someone said they might have flown into power lines. That is stupid, how many times have you seen birds sitting on power lines.

So call me nuts (which I'm sure many of you do anyway), but I think we're not hearing the whole story on the birds and fish...

Will avoid the part of whether or how you're nuts, but yep, there's more to these stories. Something is causing it - and someone knows what it is.
