Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday

Postby avalen » Sun Jan 02, 2011 9:58 am

Good morning ladies,
its finally Sunday, the day before going back to the fulltime job. Have lots of last minute
things to do today but have to work the airport a full shift. I'm still loving this and I'm sure
the day will come when I decide I need a day off and of course it will be in the middle of the
week cause the fulltime job gives me sick time. Right now my brain is focused on work, work,
work, so forgive me if I have no interesting stories to share.
Its still cold here, at least in Arizona standards but a pair of sweats under my pants keeps
me warm. Each day it will get nicer and nicer and before I know it it will be spring.
Coffee is really good this morning, I can actually taste it this time. A little toast and a
fruit cup and a bowl of steel cut oats for breakfast will get me through the morning.
Enjoy your day and be safe.

Good morning all, we have sun and cold. Quite a switch from the 60's just a couple of days ago. Yesterday as I saw all the people doing the Polar Bear Plunge and thinking who in the world would do that, only to see this morning that a couple of my friends participated in one they have in Ireland, boy did they look cold coming out of that water. What surprised me was the number of small children who were taking part. Guess if anyone had a hangover that would perk them right up.

I'm heading out to church soon, glad to hear you are enjoying your new job Ava.

Ava, don't apologize for your focus. Having gone through something similar after I first retired and knew that I had to pick up a jib to pay off my bills/credit card debit so that I could start to live my dream....I was focused on what the job/paychecks meant to my future. It made going to work all okay. I think it is especially neat that you get to do something that you are good at....driving....and meet new interesting people....always good!

No fear of catching me jumping into cold water here, BJ. :) I like warmth too much. Will be heading out to have brunch with a friend that I met at my Step Mother's old Residential Community. She is in her early 80's and is "fabulous darling." She has fought through depression several times in her life and has come out stronger through the journey...and with her sense of humor and perspective heightened. The dogs, of course, love her!

Izzy is entered in a dog show in northern Ohio and I am watching the predicted weather to decide if I can stay warm enough in the SB (Short Bus) or need to think about other lodging. The coast would be about a wash if I figure the cost of gasoline but food is so much easier if I take the SB. I am so spoiled. As Echo's post can tell, when the temps drop below the 20's it is difficult to stay warm (for those of us without the Artic package) Guess you know what goes on my future rig's wish list! :D

Take care stay warm and dry. And if you aren't already out there having adventures, keep your dreams alive and in the mean time hunt for those small discoveries that can brighten up each day and feed your soul. :)

Well, here it is -- the last day of my Christmas vacation. Laura's Limo will deliver the TX company to the airport in about 90 minutes and then it'll be a flurry of activity to get everything done to put my house back together and get organized for the school week. Rain's on the way -- again -- but I'm going to air this place out even if it means mopping up around the open windows. I'd forgotten how much older people like warm, stuffy houses. Yuck! It'll all get done & then I'll probably take one last nap of my vacation. :)

Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning...
Thought I would check in her real quick before leaving for the snow for the day. Taking DS and his friend up to MT Baker to go snowboarding.
I kick back take pictures and hang out in the ski lodge. On occasion I will get brave and sign up for lessons and rentals. Last year I tried skiing..this year I might try snowboarding. I will have to wait and see.

Then it will be back home and attempt to get back into the winter break is over and life becomes hectic again. Sports start back up, therapy appts for Kodie and school.

Planning on going to the SEattle RV show in February to look at trailers.

You all take care today.

Good Morning Ladies! It's cloudy but relatively warm here still. Rainy, but that's way better than snow and ice! Like Laura, it's my last day of vacation, and I'm working to get organized for work tomorrow. On Tuesday, we start two new classes with some 50 students. This is the first time for concurrent classes. This ought to be interesting. Got a lot of administrivia to get done today and tomorrow so we are ready for the students first thing on Tuesday. There's something to be said for having a whole new group of students each month...but that also means a lot of repetitive stuff each month.

I am going to spend at least part of the day going through closets and get started on the BIG CLEAN OUT! I have boxes of ???? that have been in the closet since the movers delivered them last Feb. Since they aren't opened, and I haven't missed whatever is inside, they are going to Goodwill. Hope the recipients like the contents. :)

And also like Laura, I think the first nap of 2011 is on the menu for today. Got a couple of outside runs to make today (anti-slip shelf liner for the RV)...but they won't take long. I may even stop by Panera and get myself a bagel... or maybe a run past Starbucks for a gigantic hot chocolate (I have a gift card for that!!!).

Have a great Sunday everyone... :D

hope you are going to at least make sure they aren't important papers or something
before you send that box away. Take a peek, at least or I will never sleep tonight

I'm laughing at those pics, Mitch. I agree with the rest, but don't think my mouth will do what that did. We'll see - only time will tell :)

Just helped a friend, via phone, fix some things on his website. And here I sit confused about these dang forums :) Might just not put the pictures back - we shall see. Got me too frustrated last night, and at the moment, don't need that. And why do the forums talk in computerese that makes no sense? Ah, no biggie, except I'd like to at least get rid of that "skip to content" wording that popped up out of nowhere and won't let go. And you know me, someday, I'll sit down and in minutes have a new image up there - just might be 2012 when I do that :)

No big plans today. Went grocery shopping yesterday and couldn't find my list - so didn't get dog food. Will have to make a run for that in the next day or so. Of course, Peaches says, forget it and give me people food. (Yep, she dreams, too).

It's colder today, but sunny - so will take what we've got. And it'll be warming back up some in the next few days. Still not sure how long I'll be staying here. Need to make a decision on that tomorrow (when I'm due to check-out).

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

OMG!! I am so glad that there's not a decent pic of me anywhere on here to be had. (should have never said that, mitch will use whatever she can find) Don't do it Mitch!!! I already have aged all I want or need to! ~sigh~

Geeze! Everyone is busy, busy, busy getting around and ready to go back to work and other things. Me? I'm in slug mode this morning... Truthfully I would love to go back to bed! But I'm up and mostly awake now. And not planning on a nap either. If I took a nap I would end up staying up and awake until the wee hours of the morning. In my younger days I was quite a night owl but have found out that I actually prefer to be up in the mornings and have the whole day in front of me. Of course it would be tons better if the truck was running and if the money was there to go and do ??? whatever I could find! :D

Jodie took me to the store yesterday so that I could pick up a couple of things. But of all things, I freaking forgot to get T-paper!!! Damn, I will probably walk down to the grocery store sometime later and get some. ~sigh~ I do have one thing that I HAVE to do today!!! Crawl under this blasted trailer and find the pipes that go to the kitchen sink and get them thawed out. Hope like heck that the hair dryer will do the trick. The new guy across the lane who broke the faucet T is on my sheet list for sure. He is not a popular person with anyone at the moment. The maintenance man dislikes him something wicked. Says he's arrogant with a chip on his shoulder. Jodie is really ticked and say he's a pompous azz and the campground manager sure isn't any fan of his!!! Jodie is really ticked as the guy lets his dog run around while he's outside and the dog pooped in the snow right at the bottom of her steps and didn't clean it up, she did! She said if it happens again she will pick it up and present it to him in a paper towel.  I would have done it this time!! I guess the guy might be presented with a repair bill for breaking the T on the water supply. Jodie says HE ought to be the one to take care of all our frozen pipes. All the neighbors on that particular water line have frozen pipes.

Gonna talk to a couple of the guys who live here and have experience with TT's. The only thing we use propane for is cooking and the fridge. The fridge is duel energy but all I can get it to run on is propane. Read the manual and it stated that it has "Auto Energy Select" and should automatically go straight to electric not gas when turned on. The manual really only talks about starting it using gas because of the Auto Select thing. So I am needing some experience here from someone who knows about the blasted things! ~sigh~ Maintenance man told me right off that he really doesn't know anything about the fridges as his has never given him any problems.

Put a couple extra blankies on my bed last night!OHHHHH! What a difference a blankie or two make in comfort.

Well it's time to quit rambling and go do some reading!! Hope everyone has a good day and please remember to do it safely!!!

Love to all

Echo - if you select auto on the fridge - when you're plugged into electric, it should run on the electric - and you can tell by the lights on it. I'd try that. Most use propane on the fridges when traveling or boondocking and set on auto - it goes there automatically. Just always keep an eye on the lights - as they will also tell you if it's not working.

And why aren't you using the propane to heat the tt? That would also help you from having the frozen lines - as most tt's have heat vents coming out of the floor (underneath where the pipes are) - even if you just use it to keep a minimum temp - say of 40 or 45 - espeically on those really cold nights you've had.

Good Morning
Watch out everybody - Mitch has a new toy!!! No telling what she will do next.

Most of my day will be spent dealing with the aftermath of lots of water in garage from early new years day flooding rainfall. It is much colder today but the sun is out. I've already taken a couple of throw rugs out to driveway to dry. Have to move a bunch of stuff to get to the last one. Many wet cardboard boxes out there too and I no longer remember what is hiding in most of them. Could find some good surprises in a few.
The water started receding late last night, think another couple of hours it will be away from washer/dryer enough to do something with all the wet towels I used yesterday to blot water up.
Since I remembered to say RABBITS yesterday, knew something good could come of this - just didn't know what. Now I think maybe it was meant to inspire me to get at least some of the stuff out there cleaned up a bit and totally reorganized. (Sadly over the past couple of years it has taken on the appearance of the rooms you see on the Hoarders show.) Think if I break it down into small areas, it won't seem as overwhelming.
Since the morning is almost gone, I better get going if I want to see progress this afternoon.

Have a great day

Well I know the thing was working on electric at the Lodge so why it's going to gas instead of electric I have no idea? Can't find an "auto select" switch on it. Dang manual says it has an "auto select switch" built into it and will choose electric over gas as long as the electric is supplied. As to not using propane to heat with I am economizing the best I can. Cost for a small tank of propane is about $18 and it would kinda hurt the budget to have to buy to much of it. We've done pretty good and have been warm enough with just the 2 electric heaters until we got into this deep freeze. This poor 'old' thing isn't built with an arctic package. Had all the cabinet doors open yesterday and the heaters aimed at them. Did get the bathroom sink running so at least we have water in there and now have water to flush the toilet!!! :D Will definitely be after the pipes to the kitchen sink today and trying to figure out the fridge!!! Then I can just use the propane for cooking. With the truck not running right again it will be hard and expensive to have to do the tank swap at the grocery store. They charge something like $26 or $28 buck for a tank!!!
