Postby Carolinagal » Fri Dec 31, 2010 7:46 am

Good morning, Coffee's made here and I can't believe I am first this morning, rare, now if someone is not writing also :D

Rains coming, I'm going to take my tree down, see if my car will start after having 8 inches of snow on it for most of the week :o Then see what else I can get into.

I have pumpkin bread, banana bread , fruit, whatever you'd like for the last day of this year. Bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, oatmeal, and even grits, served with cheese if you like. :) So come join me, would love the company.

Have a Great day everyone,

CArol :)

Good morning all,

Well, here we are, the last day of 2010. If any of us have anything we want to accomplish before this year is out, today is the last day to do it. Not that we are going to rush out and take that round the world trip etc.

But like Christmas, New Years has it's own memories to think of. Looking back on the year at all that has happened in our lives. The good, the bad, the friends we have made and others who just passed through for a short time, the loved one we have lost. Retirements, job hunts, successes and failures. Camping trips and travel adventures for many of us, hopes and dreams of those to come for others. They are all woven in the thread of our lives. And each year sews a new thread.

I cleaned my house yesterday, like that's big news , so I will at least start off on a clean slate. As I went through I cleaned the girls "nose art" off my window wall so they can start off with a clean slate too I know they will start "redecorating" it pretty soon They just love doing "nose art" . The window wall and my truck windows are fair game

As for me on this day, I am going out for one last and final breakfast for this year. But Carol's breakfst sounds good. What time is breakfast, Carol? :) I haven't had grits in a long time. Then off to Hoby Lobby. You get the drift I love that store I pick up scrapbook stuff as I go along, cause you almost have to do that when you first start out. Once you accumulate enough stuff, then you always have some to pick and choose from. My design ideas come as I work along. Also heading for WalMart for a set of new computer speakers. So I can listen to videos and what not on this desktop. My laptop could use them too as that speaker isn't the greatest either.

Soos, the picture ofthe rose was beautiful. My grandfather raised roses too. Had some beautiful ones in his yard, especially a climbing red rose right up the side of the house. The picture of yours and the mention of your grandfather, brought the memories back for me as well. The Peace rose was and still is my favorite.

It's going to be a gray, rainy type day here today. Just light rain showers, but snow is melting down and under the trees it's beginning to get a little bare. Temps are in the low 40's. All the areas I clear with my blower are now bare and so is my road. But it will refreeze when the cold air hits tomorrow. Even then, no big deal is forecasted in terms of snow. So we will start the new year off with some bare areas here.

So I am off to get ready to leave for town and breakfast. Not in a particular rush as it's not even 8 a.m. and some of the places here don't open till 9 or later. Have a wonderful last day of 2010 everyone.

Good morning ladies
we had snow in Phoenix yesterday, I guess hell froze over. I didn't see it but saw it on
the news and I know that area up on the north side of town often does get a little more
severe weather than down on the south end. The temperature predictions for tonight
are to be colder than Chicago of all places.
I don't have anything planned today, other than going to work later on. Might get a
wild hair and boil up some water to do the dishes as I watched Mr HP wash them in
cold water. I'll wait til he goes to work and then just rewash them. At least they will
be germ free.
Coffee is yummy, its Carmel Truffel and a little toast will fill the empty spot in my
tummy.
Stay warm and be safe.

Good Morning all...

Can't believe this year is nearly over. This time last year, I was still in Kuwait and was anxious to get back to the good ole USA. Hard to realize it's been a whole year already. It's sunny here, supposed to get up to 50 today. I hope the snow continues to melt off the rig. Here's wishing all of you the very best in the coming year...good health, good RVing, and good friends/family (including the furry, four-legged ones). Looking forward to a great year of interacting with all of you and learning more and more...and doing a lot of laughing as well! :D  :D   Happy 2011!!

And a Very Good Morning to All - The sun is up and shinning this beautiful morning. Went to bed last night with a cold and woke up this morning with a sore throat. Hope it goes away as we have plans to go to the Plaza Machado for New Years Eve... Have to share with you the menu for tonight - lost a little in the translation I think. "300 grams style cut angus, over glass with salsas and steak juice, served with potato lasagna and brussels cabbage and finest herbs. 3 milk cake with chocolate and nuts. Red wine glass. 12 grapes and accessory Kit of New Year." Not sure about the steak over glass or brussels cabbage (new type of vegetable?) Potato lasagna sounds like it might be scalloped potatoes.
Cannot believe the year is gone already. Seems like it was a couple of weeks ago that we celebrated New Years. Tomorrow will also be our 46th anniversary. Doesn't seem possible..
Wishing all of you a very Happy and Safe New Years Eve.

Carol, I would guess brussels cabbage to be brussel sprouts cause they look like tiny cabbage! :D

Morning greetings from balmy South Dakota. It's 3*, -15* wind chill and snowing. We're in a winter weather advisory until tomorrow afternoon. The sections of the interstates are closed and DOT has been advising no travel in the entire state since last night. I left for work yesterday and it was 38* and raining. By 10:30 one of the inmates came in my office and told me I'd better think about heading home. I don't have a window in my office and went into the main shop to see ice sheets on the windows at the same time the phone rang and it was one of my friends asking if I was keeping an eye on the weather! I closed up shop. It took me about 20 minutes to get the car deiced and I headed for home. Took me over 45 minutes to drive 18 miles...a trip I usually make in 15-20 minutes. Luckily the rain switched to snow around 12:30. When I got home we were without water...someone had slid into a fire hydrant on one of the side streets and knocked it off. The idiot didn't report it and it must have been quite awhile until one of the people on the block noticed a fountain spewing on the corner. DH works for the city part-time and they figure it must have happened around 9:30 and it wasn't noticed until about an hour later. They finally had it fixed around 4:00. Needless to say I had one cranky husband last night after working in knee deep water, mud, freezing rain then snow for close to six hours. Phone kept ringing off the hook here: "We don't have water" "Neither do we, a fire hydrant was knocked off" "When will it be fixed?" "I don't know" "Well aren't you on the city council?" "Nope...haven't been for two years" "Well! Dennis works for the city and you don't know?" "No..he doesn't check in with me." I remember why I did get caller ID when I was on the city council...after about 5 calls I started only answering those from friends.

Think New Year's Eve is going to be a pretty quiet affair at our house. Hope all of you celebrate the new year in your favorite fashion.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Good New Year’s Eve from Clearwater Lake.

Joselyn and I were blessed with Florida’s finest winter weather....mid 70s, a light breeze and sunshine. Perfect camping conditions. Now if only we can all wish the same for the January GTG.

I will be spending the last day of 2010 and the first day of 2011 doing what I like best...camping, hiking, and kayaking. Wishing you all many chances to do what you enjoy most in the coming year.

HELLO SISTAHS!!!

Yep I totally missed breakfast at Ava's this morning!! Couldn't make it as we had no internet here this morning!!! Must be it FROZE!! Temp outside this morning was 0 degrees!!! Sure didn't take Shade long at all to do her thing and scoot back into the trailer! But then again it was pretty freaking cool in here too this morning! Brrrrrrrr! Had both electric heaters cranked as high as they would go but dang! It was uncomfortable to even get dressed this morning cause my clothes were COLD! Now that's bad. But still at least it was warmer than the tent was last winter! So I can't crab to awful much. :D Kelly is sitting on the couch with a long sleeved T on and her housecoat draped over her legs to keep them and her feet warm. I'm telling ya that if she's complaining that her feet are cold then it's cold! That girl has her own little heaters in them feet! She can't even wear shoes in the summer or her feet break out in blisters!!!

Just went out again and the thermometer says it's now a balmy 30. I'm glad that thing thinks it's that warm. Maintenance man came over a bit ago and asked if we had froze up overnight? Nope, told him we hadn't. He said he did!! Said his heat tape on his water hose died. He went and got a new one and had put it on so he was hoping and waiting for it to do it's thing.

Well for whatever reason the truck is running shitty again! Went out and started it to let it warm up. Cleaned enough of the windshield off in front of the steering wheel to see to move it as I was gonna turn it around to let the sun help. But as soon as I put it in gear it chugged and quit. Have no problem starting it and it will sit and idle fine but can't move the blasted thing!!! Haven't drove it since Monday when I went to get propane and it was running like a champ then?? Now? HA! Called son, he again suggested changing the fuel filter. Be great if I could get to the parts store and had the tools to work with. And then again I haven't worked on a motor in more years than I care to think about either!!! Think I will wait until it is a tiny bit warmer out there to even try anything. Good thing we have what we need for now!!! Told son he needs to come out here for a short visit and work on my truck! Yeah, right Mom!

OK, with it being colder than a well diggers azz and no drivable vehicle? There's nothing going on here at all. Hope everyone has a good day. Stays warm, cool or comfortable while they're at it and remembers to do it all safely too!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my forum Sistahs. May 2011 be a better year for us all.

Love to all
