Come on in and say hello.

Froggi hops on in...

Postby froggi » Mon Dec 27, 2010 7:31 pm

I recognize several names here from an old forum I used to frequent. Nice to be able to catch back up to date with everyone.

I started full-timing in Oct 2007 with a used Class C and a small enclosed trailer for my motorcycle. My house was sold, I'd been widowed for 3 years and had started collecting social security. It was time to hit the road...

In July 2008 I met my now husband at the Escapees Escapade in Gillette, WY. He was recently widowed, a full-timer and a motorcyclist. We joined our rigs in August and were married in April 2009.

In March 2008 I had sold my motorcycle, getting a small car for a toad. In August 2009 I bought my own motorcycle again, then recently traded for a new one this past August. We plan to ride all of Route 66 in the spring of 2012.

We also added a little Boxer mix puppy to our household in October of this year. She has adapted to traveling wonderfully and really enjoys riding in her carrier on the back of Stu's motorcycle. She even has her own blog: http://sadiechats.blogspot.com

Welcome Froggi!
I would love to travel Route 66 one day! That should be a great trip! We'd love to see pics of your rig, bike, etc.

Welcome from a nearby Route 66 resident! I travel that road daily -- really! It would be terrific to either send you and Stu on your way or greet you at the end of your trip. It's good to have you join the merriment -- I hope you know what you've gotten yourself into! ;)

Thanks, Laura. We won't be doing the trip till 2012 now due to Sadie's age. But we are really looking forward to it! Would love to meet up!!!

Welcome aboard...I remember following your blog in the early years :) Look forward to meeting you around a future campfire....or just hanging around our imaginary one. There are fewer calories in the wine and cookies at the imaginary one.....but we do make up for that at any gtg :) Are you in FL this winter? I think Nick R mentioned traveling near...... if so come hangout at the gtg at Silver River .....

Hi Tina, yes we're in Florida. I'll have to take a look at the GTG and see what's up. We're already getting pretty booked with the Tampa RV show, lunch with RV Dreamers, my trying to set up an FL lunch for the Ft Myers-Tampa-Orlando crew, a lunch for my Rumble Sister riding sisters, taking two grandkids to Universal and hubby's Retired Firefighter Reunion. That's just the next 6 weeks...LOL!

Bethers!! So good to see you here...I already love this forum!!!

Welcome Froggi! It sounds like you have a truly wonderful time. Route 66 is on my "bucket list" I will likely be overcome with nastagia on the whole route, but gonna do it anyway. Look forward to hearing and seeing all your fun times.

What a great way to meet someone with the same interests! I am a now bikerless biker chick, but hope to get another bike when I can afford it again. Was wondering if Escapees was a good way to meet people. Hope to hear more about your love story sometime ;)
