Sunday Morning and It's Raining

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday Morning and It's Raining

Good morning Ladies:

I woke up about 2:15 a.m. and could not go back to sleep so thought I would get up and spend some time on the computer. It is raining here in Edmonds, WA. Yesterday we had lots of wind and rain. Not the best weather for selling Christmas trees. But we persevere. Six more days including today. We have 75 trees left on the lot. Hopefully today will be a busy day.

Yesterday sales were slow and I wasn't feeling very good. My left eye is red, swollen and sore. Not sure if I scratched it or if I am getting a sty. When I woke up a little bit ago it was all gunked up. Hope it doesn't turn into anything serious.

Ron is busy planning (well right now he is sleeping) our trip to Texas. My mind races with things I need/want to get done before we leave Blaine on Feb. 13th. I have to figure what all we are taking with us. I want to take some decorations with us since we won't be able to go to the storage unit like we do when we are in Blaine. I think I can pack what I want in two totes...just have to figure where to stow them while we are traveling. I don't want to put much in the Jeep because I don't want to have to haul stuff in/out when we use the Jeep. I am sure I will figure something out.

Had a rough day emotionally yesterday...missing my mom, it would have been her 75th birthday. Hard to believe she has been gone for over 5 years now. Struggling with Jamie & Suzanne (our son & his girlfriend, mother of Opal). Sometimes i just want to shake him and tell him to grow up and stop acting like a dumb teenager, he is 33. But then I remember I am sure we did things that our mothers probably thought were selfish too. Guess I just need to let him go a little more. Growing up is such fun.

Well before I get on a huge soapbox about my kid I will get off here. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning ladies
a tad cold this morning, only 55 and a little overcast, but suppose to warm up to 73 and slightly breezy. It should be a pretty nice day later on. I'm scheduled to go in around 1:00 to help
with the moving in of the new facility, lots of the office products got delivered and now its
time to get stuff put away and so forth. Everything needs done by the end of the day so its
all ready for the grand opening tomorrow morning. The phones have already been ringing
off the hook with folks asking questions, etc. Its so much fun to be right there on the ground
floor of a brand new business.
Will have a little time this morning to get a few things done, maybe a load of laundry. Need
to clean out my car but that's not gonna happen too early, its just too dang cold out there
before 10:00. I'm just a sissy when it comes to the cold temperatures
Coffee is brewed and in a little while I'll have some cinnamon toast to fill the empty spot
in my tummy, wishing I had a banana but I don't.
Off to check a few posts and do a little email. Have a good day and be safe.

Good Morning everyone, Ali it seems like yesterday you were getting ready to sell trees and now it is almost done... good for you two! now you have a full time job waiting in Tx how good can that be!! And Ava a new job and you will be there... many exciting things happening to those on the forum...
It is cloudy here and will stay that way this morning then the sun will warm us up to 70... love that... we have a pot luck after church today and this evening the community choir will sing... such a great thing to be able to share in this time... it is not often that many can get together from different churches and do what they do here in McIntosh... what a great little town..
Last night was light up McIntosh... there were a dozen little bell ringers they did a wonderful time... and there were so many cookies of all different shapes and kinds... also punch... the little community center was overflowing with people... I did not stay for the judging to be announced but I will find out today... they even have a gulf cart parade and santa arrived in the town fire truck... oh so very fun...
Have a great day everyone...

Good morning all. It's chilly here...only 37*, BUT another big warm up is forecast.....Sun....67*, Mon...76*, and Tues....81*!!! To continue in the mid 70s through week. Isn't that amazing? If not for holiday activities I would be heading out for a camping trip.

Yesterday we had planned an outing to the mall to see Santa. DGD wanted to 'make' Christmas things instead, so we colored, painted, cut and pasted all afternoon. This little girl loves her art box, the toys sit untouched. Funny how they are all so different even at young ages.

Brunch today for one of the young men home from the war in A. I'm looking forward to seeing him as he is always so happy and full of fun (inspiration I hope to his peers in family :).

(Ali, hope your eye is better!) Happy Sunday to everyone!

GOOD MORNING, ALI, AND ALL!

I see that it's just 9 deg. F. above zero back at home this morning at 10:00 am. It's nice enough for me to sit out here on the screened-in porch at St. Cloud and use my computer, although, my bare feet are a tad cold! I guess I should have worn some shoes over from the trailer. It's cloudy here, and misting slightly, making the grass wet.

I talked to Mandy last night, after I had gone to bed, and they were in the midst of their bonfire party and cookout at the party barn. They had a pretty good crowd of their friends there, and it sounded like a fun time. She said that while the guys were out getting firewood from downed trees, something smashed through a barn window, sending shards of glass all across the barn. The only critter I can think of that has ever gone totally through a window before is a Ruffed Grouse in full-flight mode----but she found no body or even any feathers, which makes it a puzzle yet to be solved. Perhaps in the daylight today they will discover what happened. In the meantime, I sure hope they board up that broken window to keep the snows out.

Heather, Melissa's sister, is the only person up at this house this morning, and she is on the computer inside. She said she went to bed early after their supper out, but that the others stayed up and partied until the wee hours. Pregnancy excludes partying, for sure! Molly and I went to bed at about 8:30, and have been up in the trailer for several hours.

I'm not sure what's planned for today for anybody. I will take my canoe over to the old house when I go there next, whether later today or tomorrow, so I can paddle in the pond and Shingle Creek. I can store it under cover in the garage there, which will be nice. I need to re-finish the gunwales with whatever Hornbeck suggests to use, and to find out what that is, I will have to call him or go online. Perhaps nothing should be used on it, for all I know.

It sounds as if Kathleen is having more fun in her campground now that the freezing temperatures are at bay....glad to hear it, Kath. And Cedar is starting her vacation with grandkids and family and friends. Say hi to Kathy for me, too, Cedar! She never talks on here, for some reason! My guitar and fiddle are over at my Orlando house now, and I intend to practice over the holidays. 'Intend' is the key word here!

Ali, I hope your eye is better when you wake up later today. Your Christmas tree selling adventure is nearly over!

Here's hoping that everyone will have a fun weekend getting last minute chores done before the big Santa day in a week. I have yet to buy any gifts, other than the one for my son, and I hope to fond a croquet set for Melissa----those may be the only ones I can afford this year. Financing two houses and a trailer and paying off loans is taking its toll! At least I have plenty of food frozen and stored to take me through to January.

Here's a bit of color to brighten everyone's day-----a bouquet of wildflowers from my property back home last spring!

Good Morning,
It's 9:30 here in the PNW. Kinda chilly out but I don't think we got down to freezing like yesterday AM.
Weather forecast: rain :) I'll take rain over snow/freezing rain any day.

Relatives are slowing leaving. My DD/SIL has 12 extra people to tend to. My SIL has been such a rock for us and my DD.

My DS/DIL are flying back to CA because he has to work a couple shifts in the ER, but will leave their DD (my DGD).
I'm hoping to convince her to come stay with me a few days to give my DD a rest so she can have some time with just her own family, just to
check in with her girls (my 2 youngest GDs), and to hear the silence again. My X's family are loud people. Funny, as my X wasn't that way at all.

This afternoon is my middle GD's basketball tourney here in my town. She has 3 games to play starting at 4PM. I'm exhausted just thinking
about it! My bottom will certainly let me know after sitting in the bleachers for that long. I remember the days of "bleacher butt" when sitting
thru all my kids games throughout their school years.

Soos, sounds like your nesting in FL is going well.
Ali/Ron, hope these next few days bring lots of tree buyers. I'm excited about your newest job in TX.
Barbie, I'm thinking the new job for you will be just the thing you've needed.
Ava, I hope your newest job will bring lots of joy. You certainly are in much better spirits. I'm happy for you.
Kd, thanks for sharing the OR coast pics. You are one strong lady with all you've been thru so far this past week or so.
Sorry if I'm leaving anyone out, but know as I read your posts you are in my heart and thought of.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Yep I made it while it is still morning. At least for me and some of the others at this end of the country.

Rain, rain and more rain! BLECH! I think I have found some little blackish spots on my body and I might be growing gills as I have these funny ridges on my neck now. If my toes start webbing and my complexion starts to show a tinge of green??? I'll have to change my name to Frog something. :? Suppose to be like this right up to Thursday now. Geeze, I can't hardly wait until the skies clear off and we have sunshine again. Thermometer says it's about 44 or 45f outside. Jodie chased her cat out the door this morning while it was raining! Says Bella has been climbing the walls due to inactivity and also attacking her!  Let me tell you tho Bella was not impressed at all with the rain drops hitting her head nor the water and mud underfoot. Every time she took a step she would stop and shake her feet off. She ended up under Jodie's truck then gave up and back into the house she went.  I know for sure Shade doesn't waste much time outside sniffing around to do her business!! She sniffs, squats and wants back into the trailer. Got her well trained tho! As soon as she gets up the steps she stops and turns around and waits for one of us to wipe her feet off! I started that while driving the big truck cause the first place she would go was the passenger seat or my bunk, right on top of my pillow!!! Yuck soggy pillow.

The other leaks we have found in here are driving me nuts!! Especially the one from the bathroom vent that creates a puddle on the hall floor. grrrrr I so want it to clear up outside so I can get the blasted thing gooped up and sealed. ~sigh~

Other than watching the rain drops in the puddles there is nothing what so ever exciting going on here. BLAH!!! Hope everyone has a good day and stays safe. Now I'm off to read some other postings to see what ya'll been up to. ;)

Love to all

Well, another big day in the neighbor hood, not. At least the sun is out but it is still cool, in the 50's. It's suppose to get to 75 in a couple of days. Wish it would stay but it's up and down and up and down. We just finished lunch, grilled steak, cabbage with tasso(smoked meat), sweet pea salad and biscuits. Glad I didn't eat breakfast. My youngest son came and spent the night. He must be extremely bored or he knows we cook on Sunday.

I need to clean out my van and wrap the presents I have so I can see if I'm missing anyone. The cats like to help wrap presents. The other day I went to wrap something and they had used the roll of paper to sharpen their claws. They had cut about half of it. The little darlings.
