BIG BEND, TX in APRIL?

Anyone interested in moving on to visit Big Bend after the Port Lavaca gtg in April?

Ummmm, let me think about that. Where would we stay?

No ty, but I'll be in Port Lavaca with y'all I was just in Alpine, which is a quaint lil town. But the drive there from Kerrville was 5 hours of nothingness. It was another hour and a half to Big Bend National Park going thru Marathon. The Holly Stillwell Ranch was interesting, which is right outside the park entrance. I didn't find the park that interesting, but you can't go by me because I don't have a great appreciation for the desert. You may enjoy it very much. But I don't need to go back there again. Looking forward to seeing you again on Magnolia Beach Easter sunrise services were wonderful there last year

Anyone interested in moving on to visit Big Bend after the Port Lavaca gtg in April?

I really want to go to Big Bend, but not sure if I'll have time after the GTG. My bi-annual dr. appts. are the end of April. Hmmm. Maybe before the GTG? Hmmm. Not even sure I'll go to TX then....saving money this year for AK in 2012. Hmmm, I'm sure I'll have hitch-itch real bad by then though. We'll see.

Diana, you do a great job with your blog. I loved the pictures of Lost Maples & narrative. You really should post here when you update...so those of us that forget to check back will know.

I could do it before Port Lavaca but probably not afterwards. I am still on the fence for Port Lavaca as I really want it to be warmer than last year.

I can't go before Port L as I'll be in CA , but another thought I had was to head to east Texas, west Louisiana, again, after Port L. Last year in April it was fabulous. I'd like to catch the dogwood blooming in Davey Crockett National Forest.

Last year it wasn't warm anywhere - Jean and I had to get 1/2 way down Baja before we were warm. April in Port L would normally be warm... but we can't trust anything anymore!
