I sure hope so, cuz I'm gonna spew. I teach new employees about being a government employee and about working in the Department of Defense. Because we have no official classrooms in our offices, so I have to drive 25 miles one way to north Richmond where we lease classrooms from the University of Phoenix. Since March I have basically done this by myself. Classes used to be three weeks; we've reduced it to two weeks. Employees come in from all over the country; many have significant time in civilian careers. they've come to the Government for security after losing jobs, having their own companies go under, or just because they want that security. I have recently gotten a second instructor on board. She sat through a full two weeks and was supposed to "absorb" the class content somewhat. I'm not sure what she did absorb... Then for the two weeks between classes, she was supposed to work on the website to learn how to navigate through the various sites we use to teach. Guess she didn't do that either. This past Tuesday was supposed to be her first day of teaching alone; I'm in the building, but I'm trying to stay out of HER classroom because I know i have a tendancy to "help"!! She deserves to teach without me interrupting. Yesterday, she came to me saying she was having a meltdown because she couldn't fina any number of websites and didn't know what to do. I offered to help and did so. Then at the end of the day, she said she felt bad about the meltdown and had given herself a headache. I wished her a nice evening and said I hoped the headache went away. This morning at 0630 as I'm checking my work email, I get one from her saying she's sick and won't be in. That means I have to teach her class now. Ok, I get it, we can't help getting sick. Turns out, she has strep--for the second time in three weeks--and won't be in tomorrow either. I had a number of things I was supposed to get accomplished during this "downtime" while she was going to teach. However, that's falling apart quickly. And now you ask why am I spewing? No, it's not because she's sick, and it's not even because I have had to teach for two days. No, I'm spewing because I am running a fever and have a sore throat and swollen tonsils! CRAP! Now I'm going to get sick; and I'm supposed to pick up Foo Foo on Saturday. I don't get sick but once every couple of years, and when I do, it's not pretty. DOUBLE CRAP. I do have some antibiotics in the house; I'm going to start taking them now. Please, please, all you ladies, would you send up a prayer that I don't get really sick... (and yes, I still have tonsils..so maybe this will stay in my tonsils and not get into any other systems; that is what tonsils are for, right?) Please pray, light a candle, or do a anti-sick dance... And thank you all!!! I feel better... hope I haven't brought you all down!
