WOW OH WOW!!! Ya'll are gonna have a fantastic GTG. 18 total so far between campers and day visitors. I wanna just sit here and cry. We would so love to be there.

For those who haven't been to the park, it's beautiful. Sites are really, really nice with lots of room. Bathrooms are nice and big plus super clean. But no heat.

Will keep my fingers crossed that ya'll have good weather and no cold icy pellet attack the GTG. Well I remember the cold and icy pellets camping there in January in tents. Brrrrr That cabin was a life saver for Kelly. Not to mention a nice hot shower in a 'warm' bathroom. LOLOL

Just checked long range weather forecast for Ocala area.

JANUARY 2011: temperature 59 ° (2 ° below avg.); precipitation 3.5" (1" above avg.); Jan 1-6: Sunny north, showers south; turning warm;
Jan 7-12: T-storms, then sunny, cool;
Jan 13-17: Rain, then sunny, cool;
Jan 18-21: T-storms, then sunny, cool;
Jan 22-24: T-storms, then sunny, cold; Jan 25-31: Sunny, very cool.

Sounds better than last year. Am hoping their assessment of "very cool" means at least in the 50s+, not near freezing.

I have trouble with their predictions a week out - not going to hold my breath for them a month out! But the Farmer's Almanac (I think that's the one) said this would be another cold winter for the east coast - so far, it's right :( I'm hoping it's worng about Jan - I'm so tired of cold. But will deal with whatever we get. As long as my heater gets fixed when in Alabama!

And the local paper says that because it's La Nina, it'll be warmer and drier than usual! So, I agree, it'll be what it is, and we'll have a great time anyway!

Happy NewYear! It's January and only 21 days until the FL GTG!

I see Marslet has just reserved site #26

It's not too late to plan to come; there are a few sites still available:

Two sites are still available for 5 nights, Jan. 23-28: Sites 27 & 30.

Site 52 is available for 4 nights, Jan. 24-28

7 sites are available for 4 nights, Jan. 23-27: Sites 03, 07 (pull through), 12, 13, 15 (Pull-through), 19, 22

Getting excited!

Are there any day plans for lunch? It doesn't make sense for us to move our rig and pay double since we are in one park for Jan/Feb but would enjoy coming up to see everyone. We'd come on the bikes with the dog (unless weather is bad) but don't want to show up and have everyone off doing "stuff". LOL!

We'll make day plans for lunch...just tell us which day you can come. We have no set in stone agenda, and the only things really planned are the pot-luck dinner Monday at the cabin #1, buffet breakfast Tues. & left-over dinner Tues. Barbzee is planning to come for a day too....which day, Zee? I recommend Mon. or Tues., but we'll be glad to see you whenever you can come.

I am sooooo jealous...but it will be a while before I can head off anywhere longer than a weekend with classes every month. :mrgreen: But I hope you all have a wonderful time and that you all post pictures so we can drool over all the fun! Remember that while singing "Little Rabbit Foo Foo," you have to dedicate it to me and the RV!!! :shock: :shock: :lol: :lol:

I wonder if we could plan a day at the cabin - and get all these folks coming for the day to come the same day? Not that they can't come more than 1 day - but make sure we all are around on that day. And isn't Carolyn also coming for the day one day? Whatcha say, Liz, FL GTG planner? (I say all this figuring I'll be there :) ) Oh, and not that we have to spend the day in the cabin - but figure in case it's cold, we would have that option? We could always have a 2nd potluck on Tuesday be a lunch. Then think of all the leftovers we'd have for Tuesday night.
