I do have a new digital TV. Am interested in this gadget that you are referring to, tho. Anyone know more about that?

Yeah, I have one (of course, being the geek that I am). It's just OTA (over the air) broadcasts and you'd better have a mighty fine, speedy, whompin' computer to stream the signal, IF you can get the signal. Your best best is your new digital tv for OTA signals.

This is the brand/style I have...not sure if it's the same model. POS, YMMV. Maybe they've improved in the past several years. I don't know.

My son, who is completely brilliant; his friends call him Einstein, watched TV on his laptop all through college. He seemed to prefer HULU...I just googled HULU went there before I wrote this and started watching Rick Steves do a trip through Bosnia...had to tear myself away to write this. Anyway, HULU is free, doesnt require a download of any type and seems quite intuitive. I googled "watching tv on the internet" and tons of stuff comes up but most of it requires you to download something...I never do that, lots of issues can result from downloading things. If you have a strong internet connection HULU it will work great.

Thank you Karen for the Hulu suggestion! I just got done watching an episode of Two and a Half Men! Yay! Now I can get caught up on all the episodes I've missed! Will have to see what other shows I can watch on there.

I'm getting plenty of channels on HD here. I'm one of the few RVers that doesn't use my satellite dish. I'm glad you figured out how to watch TV on your computer, Barbie. Too bad you spent money on a TV. You can still use it to watch movies.

Barbie, Have you even tried to see if your tv picks up the local channels as is? It might.

And please, before you watch any tv using your roommates internet - make sure it's okay. You could end up costing her (and therefore YOU) a lot of money.

I did try to scan the channels here and nothing came up. Will ask my roommate about the movie thing. I know she watches TV shows and movies a lot on her laptop. But I will still check with her. I may try the antenna thing. There seems to be quite a few to choose from at Walmart from $10 up to $40.

Echo, if you're using an air card for your internet connection and watch many videos you'll suck up your data allowance like a sponge. And if you're using the campground's wi-fi and they have a policy against watching video you might get yourself in a heap of trouble.

Watching video and pay-for-data just don't mix. But the companies that provide data plans don't tell you that. They just charge you an arm & leg when you exceed your allowance.

I'm just saying ...

Yeah there's no way I could watch any thing like TV using the air card. Your right it would eat up my bandwidth in so time flat. As a matter of fact we had the air card turned off for "vacation" while at the Lodge for 6 months. It hasn't been turned back on sooooooo that works for me just fine as I'm not paying the extra $$ every month for it right now. I will nose around and see if I can find out if the camp ground in limited or unlimited on bandwidth before I get into watching TV.
