COLD MONDAY MORNING

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

COLD MONDAY MORNING

Postby Colliemom » Mon Dec 06, 2010 8:25 am

Good Morning everyone,

I had a post all typed up and was just finishing it when I lost it due to operator error. So will start again.

Seems to be cold all over the whole country. The cold being experienced in FL and along the east coast is the same storm system affecting us. It's cold here too. 20 degrees and a fairly stiff breeze blowing. We are under a Lake Effect Snow Warning today for possible 2-4 inches of snow, but winds making blowing and drifting situations. In these lake effect conditions you never know what is going to happen. Wind shift and the whole picture changes.

I had planned to spend the day inside cleaning house and putting some of my stuff back up on my kitchen walls. But my next door neighbor called last night and asked if I could clear her drive out. Her house is up for sale and she has moved downstate to live with her son and daughter in law. I've been doing their drive for them for the past three winters. They pay me to clear it. When she moved this fall, she didn't say anything about it so I haven't bothered. But her real estate agent has been showing the house and the snow is getting a little hard to walk through, so would I mind doing it again No problem. So as soon as I finish up here, I am going to do up my breakfast dishes and get out there and start clearing drives. Hers and mine are both around 200 feet long. But hers is long and straight. I have about a 3-4 car width at top of mine, plus I also clear next to my garage and into my fenced in backyard, the which of I clear abuot half out for the furbabies, so they can take care of business and move about a bit. So depending on how much snow we get, I can be out there for 4 hours sometimes. But there are some areas around her drive I don't have to do now that nobody's living at the house. So that will cut down on time. And people ask me what I do in winter......

So I will probably clean house tomorrow instead, but might hang some stuff up on the walls today though. Then of course the furbabies are going to want to go for a walk..... Such is life in the north country in winter.

I ordered a Memory stick/adapter card from Amazon yesterday along with a spare adapter, so I will be in business in the camera dept. again by weeks end. Thank you to all who gave me ideas and tips on where to get them. More snow pictures will be forthcoming.

So I am going to bid farewell to you for this morning and get my act in gear around here. Have a great day and hope it warms up for you. :)

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Brrrr, shiver, shiver! It's not really 'cold' but it is down right chilly outside. It rained over night and it has sprinkled this morning so it is really damp out there and the sky is a dead light gray. The dampness and chill sinks in and makes for a really dreary day. Kinda matches my mood today. For whatever reason I am feeling down in the dumps and super blah. Don't really have an idea why tho? I know the feeling wont last but at the moment? YUCK. Maybe it's a carrot day?

Nothing planned here today except dishes and some house cleaning. Might run to the store quick like to pick up a couple of things and that's about it.

Next door neighbor, the one who has lived here for 3yrs has been on a cleaning, re-doing, hoeing out and remodeling frenzy!!! She had to work today but was still up at midnight last night trying to put her TT back into some kind of livable shape. Helped her carry in her dresser last night at 11:30pm. Told her she was gonna be dragging butt today. She groaned and said she didn't want to think about it! She had her TT decorated up in sort of a Moroccan style, says she's not sure what way she is gonna go this time.

OK, enough of my exciting life. Hope everyone has a good day and does their best to stay safe.

Love to all

GOOD VERY LATE MORNING ALL!

I am now in Orlando, sitting at my new dining table where the computer is at the best level it's been since I left home over a month ago! It was 33 at the trailer this morning, again, and is only about 55 inside this house right now. I am waiting for the appliance company to come and fix my furnace in this house. Goog came over during his lunch hour, to make sure I had tried to light the gas furnace properly, and I had, indeed. But the burner won't kick on, no matter what we tried. I got the pilot light lit just fine, and the thermostat turns on the fan, but won't ignite the furnace. Luckily, as it's due to get into the 20s here tonight, someone will come to try to fix it later this afternoon. I left my trailer furnace on, and the hot water heater, to keep my pipes and heater from freezing over there tonight.

Weldon helped me move in the table, too, on his lunch hour. Here are a couple of pictures of what the living/dining areas look like now, with my new area rug for the sofa, and the table and chairs right where I am sitting.

The new area rug makes the sofa really stand out so much better now!

New table and chairs.

I hope everyone battens down the hatches and stays warm tonight, no mater where you might be! If Broward can't get this furnace running, I am heading back to my warm trailer!

Happy Monday!

Happy travels!

Sorry, Echo, that you're having a bad day. Those cold, damp, gray days are no fun.
It'll pass and you'll be back to your upbeat old self (well, not that you're old, which you are, but I mean your TYPICAL, upbeat self). ;)

Gosh Mitch, you sure you aren't suffering from "almost foot in mouth" type ailment??  Sure glad Echo has a great sense of humor, for your sake. :)

Soos, I love that table and chair set. I'd love one that size, is this the one also that had the piece to enlarge it? ( can't remember right word :? )CRS, you know?(can't remember stuff)

Kathleen, sorry you had a day of hurting. Hope the days ahead are better.

We had snow here yesterday morning too, and boy is it cold outside. Florida is too, so no place to run :( even if I could.

Hope everyone is having a good day, in spite of weather or anything else. Morning is long gone, but Have a great day for the rest of it.

Stay safe and warm,
CArol :)

Lookin' good kitchen set/rugs, Soos! You did good!

Yesterday I watched my GD play basketball. Lost both games, but the last one was pretty close. I had a sinus headache or some such going on, so was glad to come home and take some meds. Today I'm feeling better.

Just came inside. I finally got off my lazy butt and pruned back the front yard rosebushes. I really don't like the job as the thorns are horrid, but so glad it's done for another year. My lawn guy was by to put on the iron and said I needed to get the grass in the back yard shorter and some of the leaves up, so I mowed that, too.
Tomorrow it's suppose to start raining and continue for like 2 wks straight, so I'm very happy to have it done!

Last night I got some pictures of my 14 yr old GD. She and her girlfriend went stag to the Winter Ball at her high school. She looked so pretty and grown up. Her dress was pretty short, and she is 5' 10" so she looked to be all legs! I'll have to try posting a picture, altho the ones I got weren't very big.

Echo, what's a carrot day?

Soos, that rug looks nice there and fits perfect! Was thinking maybe you could get a glass top to put on the wicker table there. The dining set is vey nice too! Looks like you are getting everything put together nicely! How many bedrooms are there?

Sounds like I am the only one with decent weather! 68 and sunny today! (again  ). Talked to my dad today and he said he is already sick of winter and it's only the first week of December! So glad I'm not there!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
