Hello! I was just in Port Orchard visiting family! The eventual plan is to be parking the RV in the folks' driveway in PO! Did the electro outage affect you as well last week? Thanks for the welcome! I hope to meet up with you and others on the Left Coast in the next couple of years! :-)

No outage here, thank goodness. No lights means no heat.
Check out the Bandon, Oregon GTG for next August.

Welcome and congratulations on your new rig and upcoming retirement.
I left the DoD contractor world after almost 35 years. Wonderful career but to my surprise, I don't really miss much of it.
Looking forward to getting to know you and read about your travel adventures in CONUS.
Be sure to post pictures - have the dealer take a couple of you picking up your rig tomorrow - what a great way to start.

Well, so much for being all excited...the dealership got the dates mixed up. :( They were planning on my picking up NEXT Saturday. I'm bummed, but what can I do about it. At least I got to walk through her again, and show her off to a friend. And we'd already stopped and had breakfast at Cracker Barrel so it wasn't a totally wasted morning. Alas, disappointment is the primary feeling right now. So now I guess I'll have to go get my laundry done after all! Now I'm really bummed! Have a great weekend everyone! Stand by for next week's unvailing! ;)

Welcome! I'm usually a little late doing things...if I get them done at all. Just checked out your new rig...what a honey! You will enjoy it so much. DH and I are just weekend RV'ers right now and plan to be snowbirds when or if we can ever retire. Until then we are frozen to the ground in South Dakota! I'm extending the same invitation to you that I have all members on the forum. On your way to the left coast if you're going to travel through SD to see the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore you are more than welcome to park at our house for a day or so. We have a 30 amp hookup and plenty of water...no sewer. But husband works part-time for the city and he can get you dumped if you need it! We're not very far from Mitchell...home of the World's Largest Bird Feeder....er I mean Corn Palace. ;) If you come on a weekend I'll be more than happy to give you a tour of the area....if we're not camping ourselves! ;)
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

DPF: Thank you for the welcome and don't be surprised when I do, in fact, contact you to exercise that oh-so-kind invite. I've never actually been in SD, myself; but my parents went and absolutely loved the area that spring. It's definitely on my list. Have a great Sunday!

Ha...just reread my post and I need to correct something that could be misconstrued! We are connected to city sewer in the house...just don't have an RV hookup for it! Just didn't want you to think we were using an outhouse! We even have electricty and running hot and cold water too! :o By golly South Dakota is movin right up in the world!

Hahahaha! I actually knew what you meant the first time. If I hadn't, I would have asked if you needed to borrow my self-contained RV! :D

Hi Li,
Welcome! I am new too, just within the last month. I don't get on to the site on a regular basis as my life is a bit silly right now so I just now stumbled onto your introduction. You are delightful!

I just picked up my new Zinger t26rl and had the, hmmmmm guess you could call it a walk-thru. But, got the basics....One thing that is of tantamount importance when you are at a hook-up with sewer is to leave your black tank closed until it fills up pretty well then dump it. That way the toilet paper, ETC!!!!! won't just pile up at the bottom of a fairly dry tank and become unbudgeable. I have always added Calgon water softener or a cheap dry laundry detergent tot he black tank because it causes the tank walls to be real slick and stuff doesn't adhere. Hope you didn't mind a little toilet-talk, you probably knew this stuff anyway. Can't wait to see photos. Love those photos....someday I will upload some too.
