SUNNY THURSDAY, BUT COLDER

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SUNNY THURSDAY, BUT COLDER

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

It's another sunny, but cold day out there this morning. It didn't get frosty here last night, but the rather strong winds and the temperatures in the 40s is feeling downright cold. I came in here to the main house to make some coffee and type my morning stuff where it's warm. IOt syas it's 29 derees at home, so I guess it's really warm by those standards!

Goog's car has a brake caliper that is stuck nearly shut, and he has been trying to get the wheel off to replace/repair his rear brakes for three days now. The salt from up north the winter he lived there rusted the car so badly that he can't get the wheel off----it's as if it's welded on. He replaced his front brakes with no problem, but that back one needs a sledge hammer, or a special tool, to get it off. I hate to think of him driving on these highways down here with that stuck caliper, but he passed up the chance to use my truck today and stick with what is familiar to him. Plus he also has an E-Z Pass which saves him much time driving to work. Last night he tried once more, even driving around his fields with the lug nuts off, but for two slightly on in case it broke free, but no luck. I hope he can trade that car soon, or get it to a repair shop where they have a wheel puller, or something. Makes me very nervous. I guess these are the things I have been unaware of back in the north country as he has been on his own down here in the south for nearly 14 years. Sigh.

Today Molly and I will go walking along the lake front again. I have enough groceries in my trailer refrigerator now, and in my pantry, so no need to shop any more. I stopped at the auction house yesterday to look for stools and clothes washers, and found a lot of both items. But we will be going to the other house for the weekend to get my table and chairs set up and then go out for night on the town. No auction this weekend. If my old washer still leaks, I will have no problem getting a replacement, whether used or new, after I save up some funds.

Here's hoping you all are having a good day, no matter what your weather. I guess that cold front that swept through here yesterday brought nasty and dangerous weather to some north of here.....tornadoes and wicked rain and snow and flooding, and ice and more snow. Please all, keep an eye to those weird skies.

Happy Thursday!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

This was the scene that greeted me when I woke up this morning. As you can see, winter has indeed arrived and was busy last night. Forecast calls for another 2-4 inches today and again tonight. So there could be another 4 to 8 inches or so on top of this yet.

ImageImage

So I will have enough to keep me busy today. After I get out of my jammies, make bed etc., then I am going to check over my newly painted kitchen soffits and do some touch ups here and there. Then declare it all done. Gotta wash the plates and rehang them. And yes, there will be pictures forthcoming tomorrow cause I know everybody's gonna want to see the difference.

When I get the painting done, I will give the kitchen a good cleaning and eventually, if not before, I will go outside and take the snow off my deck, so the girls can go out and not have to wade in the stuff. Plus they pack it down with their paws too. As to my drive etc., may wait till tomorrow to do that since more is coming anyway. My blower is capable of handling it.

Otherwise, not a heck of a lot going on around here, but the days seem to fly by. Now that the kitchen project is about done, I will turn my attention to the laundry room and put frresh coat of paint on that, maybe next week. So by the end of this year, I should have all painting done in the house here. Then into spring cleaning. Once the weather starts getting nice in spring, I want OUT!!!!

Gotta keep my eyes out for a potential Christmas card scence around here. I've been making my own cards for a few years now and everybody enjoys seeing pictures from "Up North" on the front. It is getting expensive to do that anymore with ink prices etc. going up, not to mention postage. I've pared down my list a bit over the past couple of years too.My next door neighbor used to show them off to people who came over to their house during the holidays. And she has keptevery one of them with the intention of framing them. I am going to do the same.

So have a great day out there everyone.

Good Morning from crispy McIntosh... but it is warmer here than at home and it will be a nice temp here 65 later... good for taking all of the things out of my basement storage areas as they are wet... the man that put my toilet in must have done something very wrong... it leaked all over my carpeting and dripped into the storage... I have the water turned off now and will wait for him to come...
Liz was here last night and she now sees why this is a Bright Hope... I really like her she has all that I wanted in a MH... we had a nice chat it was so good to see her...
I hope you are enjoying your day...
Sue you sure got things done in record time... Soos what a great place to walk Molly not in the knee deep snow...

Good-morning Ladies !!! Sun, is out, but oh so cold outside, or my body thinks so :) but Maggie has to go out, you know how that is. I loved looking at your pix of outside your window Sue. They are so pretty. I bet you get some really good pix for your cards. Almost thought I was going to be looking out my front window and seeing some of that white stuff. Just have really heavy frost, my car is covered, steps are icy, but sun is out and all will be ok, shortly.

Haven't been on for a while, went to friends for the holiday and visited for a couple of days afterwards, she didn't have to return to work and we don't see one another too often. Always kind of down when I first get home from visiting anyone, plus had a couple of problems to deal with, so kept my gloom from here :) . Today, am thinking I might get my tree up, just the small one. Seems I shall be here this year, and decided I do love having a tree up with lights on at night, so doing it this yr. just for me :) Have my cards out and ready to start getting them ready to mail. I have always enjoyed sending my cards and enclosing in some, short notes or letters, depends on who it is. Always make sure to mail letters to the older ones, but you know what, not to many older then me anymore

Have really been enjoying the christmas programs on the Hallmark channel, something to look forward to each evening this time of year. Now to get on to see what some of you have been up to. Soos, seems you are settling in really nice, enjoying those warmer days huh? Good, for you. Loved your pix of your place, where your trailer is and also your house. Kathleen, so happy you had such a good trip south and now settled in to visit with old friends, enjoy the warmer climate, for all of us up here. :)

Stay warm everyone, and enjoy the season, busy, busy time of year. Hope you all will be able to take it slow enough to thoroughly enjoy each day.
Safe and Happy travels for those on the roads,
Take care all,
CArol :)

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Brrrr, was a chilly 25f this morning in southern UT. But of course poor me had to brave the cold as Shade was dancing and letting me know it was time to get out the door so she could do her business! As soon as she was done going P and her morning sniff around, she wanted back in the TT to snuggy on the couch with her sissy! HA! Fooled her cause by that time I was sitting at the picnic table drinking my first cup of coffee. After getting the piece of bench under my butt warmed up enough that I no longer shivered, I wasn't about to get up that quick. She had to settle for jumping up on the end of the bench on the towel and steal some body heat from me! Suppose to be in the mid to upper 40's the rest of the week during the day. Kinda feels like a heat wave in a way. ;)

I am so proud of myself! No more frozen water hose!!! YAY! And no more frozen sewer hose!!! YAY! All of that is done now. I think tho that I will add a thin flat rock under the rain gutter I got for the sewer hose to prop it up just a tinch more right at the TT outlet. It has been OK but it lays just a 'little' to level for my liking. Really wish I could get a better downhill angle but oh well. Work with what I've got. Had to get a piece of foam rubber insulation wrap from the maintenance guy as what we got ended up being about a foot short. ~sigh~ Did end up having to have another extension to plug the heat tape into. Good thing I had a multi plug that I could use as now I have 2 extensions plugged into it. If things freeze again I am gonna be at a loss out there! And sitting out there with a hairdryer again. :x

Haven't found a job/jobs yet. This is such a small town that if a job comes open a local hurries up and grabs it. Will just have to keep trying. Will be talking to the camp ground manager today about the bathrooms and showers not being cleaned. Talked to the maintenance man and asked him who was suppose to be cleaning them just in cast it was the managers job during the winter? It's not it's another girl here in the park. So.....I will be talking and checking into taking the job over. Neighbor says cleaning the bathrooms should knock $100 a month off the site rent! He77 yeah, we can handle a discount like that for the next 5 months! ;)

Ok, time to go check out some other posting and see what ya'll have been up to. Hope everybody has a good day, stay warm/cool, upright and in one piece! Be safe.

Love to all

Good afternoon all.

HAPPY HANUKKAH to all that celebrate the Festival of Lights.

Weather is still up and down here. Today and tomorrow it will be in the high 50's and 40's overnight. Over the weekend should be in the high 40's and 20's at night. Just can't make up it's mind,.

Sue, the picture on the right looks like a pretty good Christmas card picture to me.

Take care all and travel safely. Linda

Just got an e-mail from my sister-in-law. Good news and not so good news... My niece (her daughter from a previous marriage) is expecting their first baby in June!
My nephew (my brother's son with her) is 22 and was diagnosed a year ago with sarcoma, and they removed a tumor from his lower back. There are signs that it may have come back but he will be getting tested again shortly to see for sure. Here is part of the e-mail she sent me about it...

"...Jeff has another scan on December 14th. So fingers crossed. It is urgently critical to make it for the first year with this type of cancer….if there is a recurrence within the first year, it is extremely bad (as in less than 10% survival). If he can make it longer before next occurrence, well the longer the better. Seventy percent of patients with Soft Tissue Sarcoma DO have a recurrence. We aren’t out of the woods yet. I’ll keep you posted."

When this type of cancer comes back, it usually goes right to the lungs and brain. So include a little prayer and some positive thoughts for him!
