Good morning Ladies!

Hoping each of you have a great day!

Kathleen we have good friends who are from Cullman and their daughter still lives there. Another RV'r that I follow is also in that area this Thanksgiving holiday with her son and family. Very small world.

Woke to more snow this morning. Supposed to warm up and get rain tonight. We are still waiting for our trees to get delivered. Will be sometime on Friday ~ the snow and bad roads delayed them. We have decided to just take it easy today as we know we will be having some long days beginning tomorrow.

Spent about an half hour with hubby in bed this morning listing all the things we are thankful for. There are lots of things/reasons for our thankfulness. God is good and we are loved by Him and many others.

We have duck marinating and will put it in the crock pot about noon. It needs to cook for 5 hours so we will eat about 5:15 or so. Sure hope it tastes good. Never have cooked a duck before though we ate it once at a friends. Also making stuffing, mashed potatoes w/gravy and green beans followed by pumpkin pie.

Echo, good luck with your turkey in the crock pot...I don't even think a 10lb would fit in my crock pot and don't recall ever seeing one much smaller than that. A friend suggested cutting one in half and baking it laying down in a 9x13 pan. Will think on that and maybe do one later next week.

Ron is watching football and I am just goofing off on the computer. Whatever you all are doing...be safe doing it and have a great day!

Happy Turkey Day to all! It's been really warm here for several days, 75 -77* all morning, and then a few minutes ago the wind came up and the temp began to drop! It's down to 65* so far. I think the cold front they have been forecasting has arrived!

We are going to my DD's sister in laws for dinner. I tried something different. It's been on a few food blogs this year to bake the stuffing/dressing in muffin tins. I did a regular pan and then 12 muffin tins. They turned out really cute. If it's a hit, next year I will do it all in muffin tins. :)

It's so strange to me not to be doing the big meal, but also kinda nice to hand it down to the next generation. I miss my family home in CA, talked to all on the phone. It's freezing there, the ski resorts are all open for the holiday week-end too! yay for the local economy.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours today. After years of all-day cooking & slinging massive amounts of food at voracious kids & (very helpful) husband, I'm bringing ONE holiday dish to my son's house today. Actually, I really MISS the marathon food prep, that houseful of kids -- and the husband.

But I'm grateful for the blessings in my life. I take nothing for granted -- especially my health and that of my family and friends. I try to acknowledge my tremendous wealth, by world standards. I have a roof over my head, warmth in the winter and cooling in the summer, plentiful food, fresh, clean water delivered right to my home, and I don't have to worry about being gunned down in the streets (most days).

So to all who have at least one blessing to count, happy Thanksgiving.

NEXT? BLACK FRIDAY!!! Nyaah ha haaa!

Janice, I too miss that large noisy gathering of family and friends. The over loaded table, the hungry circling voracious beasts of years ago. The groans and agony of the after effects. Oh and the snores!!! I use to do T-day dinner for the family and friends as I lived in an old farm house with a huge kitchen. A few years we had 30+ people at our house eating Thanksgiving dinner. Those years I would be baking pies for 3 days. One year I made 22 pies. Gads I was glad and THANKFUL when I baked the last one.

It's just Kelly and I this year but I'm glad that we are together. David went with his house mate to another friends house for dinner today. So while the 3 of us aren't together I know that he had a good dinner today. Next year tho!!! I will be cooking up a storm and David will be making green bean casserole. Kelly will be in charge of the potatoes!

I've spent Thanksgivings with friends when I was by myself. And the next day did up my own Thanksgiving turkey and dinner. Now days without that huge gathering? It doesn't matter whether I spend this holiday by myself or friends, I have to do my own turkey or else it just isn't Thanksgiving without MY leftovers! ;) Now Kelly isn't that into having a fresh T-day dinner? But she said she is looking forward to the leftovers. Go figure!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I had a wonderful day at my new home in Davenport FL (Orlando). Was invited to lunch with the "noodles" group and it was so good. NOW don't laugh, I now have a better understanding of the difference between stuffing and dressing. Stuffing is definitely a northern thing. It's was made with bread, lots of herbs, oysters, and other things. Dressing is a southern thing that is made with cornbread, sage, chicken broth, good stuff. I really love dressing, didn't really care that much for stuffing. Margie had warned me that they serve stuffing down here.

Mitch, I tasted some Chocovine. It's red wine with chocolate flavoring. Marilyn had little cups taking it around so people could sample, thought about you at our gtgs.

I'm so glad we have this forum. Great ladies!

Margie & Roger went back to TN for T'giving so I had to make it on my on. I looked at a park model that just went on the market. It's 2br2ba and is very well kept up. Neat place, not sure I'm ready for that big leap but did find out there is storage for an RV for $30 mo. Hummmm!

So glad to see so many have had a good, thankful day.

I had a wonderful gtg with Wendy and Kathleen in Cullman - a great way to spend Thanksgiving. Yes, there are photos and I will get them loaded/posted in the morning. Too tired tonight and have 2 wet dogs to deal with now (rain held off for our gtg and long enough for the drive back; turning cold and wet tonight after a high of 75 today. Tomorrows high of 47 will really feel like winter.)
