WHAT DAY IS THIS??!!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WHAT DAY IS THIS??!!

Postby Nasoosie » Tue Nov 23, 2010 6:25 am

GOOD MORNING ALL-----and I think it really is Tuesday today, yes?? According to my task bar on this laptop, it is indeed! Sorry about my day thing, and I actually wondered why I hadn't seen any post from Sue! Sigh---life is more confusing than ever down here in wherever I am!

The washing machine repair man came yesterday, replaced a huge top-of-the-tub gasket, tried the machine out----no leaks. As soon as he left, I put a load of clothes in. Leaked all over the place! Got immediately on the phone to call him back and it was lunch hour-----nobody available! Decided to try Orange County Utilities (water and wastewater) once again, for the fourth or fifth time, to get them to allow me to log onto my new account that they charged me 16.00 to set up. That 16 dollars was now due, so I paid that over the phone. They said that by tonight I should be able to once again set up an account online using my email address as required. We shall see.

Meanwhile, I was able to get the repair man back out here and he has now ordered another gasket-like thing for the bttom of the tub. Hmmm.....the old machine really does a bangup job of cleaning clothes, and I would rather keep it than replace it with one of the newer, tin foil models they make now. Until that get installed, I will just mop up the floor when I do a wash. It's out in the garage, so doesn't matter.

We had the first rain yesterday that I have seen since I arrived here. Luckily I always keep a raincoat in the truck so I went into Publix super market in a torrential downpour and stayed dry. Unfortunately, the rain didn't last long enough to make a difference in the drought.

I am up early this morning as I wanted to make sure I put all the garbage out by the road. I am wondering if Carol is up, as she says she usually is at this hour. Hi Carol!

Today I'm off to Lowes to exchange the garbage disposal unit (Weldon and Melissa forgot to tell me that the dishwasher dumps into that defunct old disposal, and, as I wanted to see if the washer worked, I tried it out! More flooding in the kitchen this time!) And I need a ladder to get up and clean out the rain gutters and drains that the squirrels have stopped up.

Then I hope to spend some time in the pool and spa before heading back to St. Cloud. I can't believe it's Thanksgiving, and it's warm enough to swim!

Hope your trek is going smoothly, Kath! It sounds as if Pete has been busy getting the glitches out of his huge new rig. And Bobby is just plain as sarcastic as ever! Sue is also very busy, and so is Karen with her wonderful Mac!

Here's hoping you all are having a family-planning feast day for whatever day that comes on! Happy travels and experiences to all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Vickie is spreading her artistic wings and made me a new avatar - kinda like I helped Linda with...
I'm not sure I'll use it, but THANKS, Vickie, for thinking of me.

Actually, I was up early, but didn't get on here cause I have a chiropractor appt. at 9 and wanted to wash my hair and take a quick bath. Also see the dentist this afternoon, so busy day of appts. Now I have a half hour before I leave so will get on for a short.

Did get the house cleaned yesterday, so that will take care of that for awhle now. Took my dogs for a walk afterwards, over to the park as they love it there. That's when I started writing my post "It's Time" in my head as I knew it was time. And indeed it is. Snow is on the way in. Should be here in a cople of hours. After yesterdays 50 degrees, it's windy and cold here now. With wind gust in the low 30's, snow will be blowing around a bit. And cause the winds are coming from the west, we will see it for sure. West winds kick in lake effect snow here really good.

Went to Hobby Lobby yesterday and got some stuff for my scrapbook, but forgot to check the colors of my insert sheets for each camping trip, so am going back today after my appt. this morning to get the colored card stock and some tape, letters of various colors etc. Then I can start that scrapbook when I want.

Sooos, I do agree on the washer. The new ones out today are much better and more energy efficient. You use less water. I have a front load Maytag and I love it. Easy to use and my wash comes out really clean. And with the new soaps on the market for Coldwater, I don't use hot water anymore either. Actually I think the wash comes out better in cold. Colors are bright and not faded, whites are cleaned and not stained etc. Willsave you money in repair bills and water in the long run. And now that you are retired, saving money is the name of the game.

Well ladies, I"m off. Have a great day.

It is a cold day here, last night at six when I went to yoga class the temp was 74 degrees this morning it is 39 and feels like 33. Brrr hard to get used to the cold when it changes so fast. But the sun just came out so should feel better soon.
I am finally doing better after this dental saga. I had a reaction to the mouthwash they prescribed me to use 3 times a day, after a week my entire mouth turned ugly! A word of caution if you have laser periodontal work done tell them to only treat the area affected!!!! I only had two places that I needed work done and he did most of my upper mouth. When I asked why, he said to be honest, the company that makes the laser said to do the whole mouth so they could pay for the equipment faster, can you believe!! He said he doesn't do that as he wouldn't be able to sleep at night, well hello neither would the poor patient!! It took me a over week to be able to eat anything other than things made into baby food consistency. Also, the antibacterial mouthwash shouldn't have been prescribed that often for that long as it destroyed all the good bacteria in my mouth which caused all the other problems. Yesterday my regular dentist said in another two weeks I should be doing much better
Well that sun is showing all the dust I've been trying to ignore so better get with it, I also need to bake bread if I want any for lunch.

Mitch, that look is good for you!

(Linda, be glad that Mitch fixed your avatar, not Vickie! :o )

I work all day today. I am excited about picking up my new kitty tomorrow night. Her name is Precious but I may change that. I hope she works out well here. It will be nice to have a kitty to keep me company again. This time I am using a hard-sided plastic carrier to bring her home in!

I hired a pet psychic the other day to see if she could communicate with Lola. She described my area very well and said that a woman took her in and is keeping her and that the cat is happy there. I am hoping she is right. I have nothing else to go on at this point.

Got my new little TV last night but now have to wait to get my DirectTV hooked up next week. Still need to get a VCR/DVD player. Will look on Craig's List for that.

Have a good day gals, and Soos, I'm glad you are back on the same day as the rest of us!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Tried to post here yesterday but couldn't. I could read the postings but not post. Every time I tried it told me, "server not found". Grrrrr So here I am today and it's Tuesday. Everybody says so and I checked my laptop calendar. LOL

Cold here today 'wunderground.com' says it's 35.6f and clear. I can vouch for the clear and for the cold temp. T-day is suppose to be really cold. Took Shade out to P at 6:30am when I woke up and as soon as she was done she wanted back in the trailer. She was shivering. She has blown her coat and she's not near as fluffy and thick as she was. Poor thing. It'll grow back right quick but for right now her coat is pretty thin. Have left my water in the kitchen sink dribbling for the past 2 nights so that my pipes don't freeze. I've got the gray valve open so that the tank doesn't fill up. Wen I need to dump my black tank I just run some water down the toilet. I don't really want to close the gray valve until I figure out how I want to repair that pipe so that it doesn't leak like it does. Will probably get a pvc connector, cut it in half length wise and then glue the heck right out of it. ~sigh~ I still need to find a sewer hose connector that will actually fit on the pipe coming out of the black tank. Hopefully someplace out there has one big enough!

Not sure what we are gonna do for T-day? I would love to get a small turkey and do it up in the crockpot but got to weigh the cost all the way around. It's tearing me up not being home with David this year. He's going thru a really rough patch with his soon to be X-wife. He's so stressed out that he got crying on the phone the other day after they went to mediation over visitation rights. She is trying to limit David to 66 days of visitation per year. David is climbing the walls as he wants 50/50. Told him that much isn't gonna happen but to push for as much as he can get.

OK, Shade is bugging me to go out again. So will take her out then come in and finish my coffee. Hope everyone has a good day, stays safe and warm if your temps are like mine here!!

Love to all

We're not a day ahead but I think we are a couple of hours ahead. I was fussing about all the meat my DH had in the refrigerator so he put a pork tenderloin on the grill and it was cooked for 10:30. So we had lunch pretty early.

I have an appointment to get my eye checked this afternoon. The doctor found a shadow on my retina about a year ago and this is the second time he has checked it. I had never heard of that. I don't think they know what causes it and I can't see any difference in my eye sight. It is just very unconformable when he shines his light in my eye for so long.

I brought my motorhome to get serviced yesterday and hope I get it back by tomorrow. I miss the extra refrigerator space when cooking for a holiday. Still haven't planned what I'm going to cook. Probably a deboned stuffed chicken from a specialty meat market here. It's hard to beat their chickens but I like to have left over turkey.

Afternoon all. Been up early and doing some shopping online. Way more fun than dealing with all the crowds from now through Christmas. I did manage to find a small turkey (10 lbs) this year instead of the 14 lb usual size, which required way to much leftovers. I really prefer the side dishes to the turkey anyway. I always double up on the stuffing and sweet potato pie. YUM.

Temps here have been up and down. Yesterday was 75, today 56, tomorrow 73, Thursday will be a high of 38 and Friday back into the 50's.

Anyone traveling, drive carefully and stay safe and everyone else take care. Linda
