New RV with built-in Dog Kennel

Wonder when this will travel to other rv's - not just this one brand and type.

I would be concerned with the comment "dogs can ride in there with "relative safety". I would only have them in there when parked.

That was my concern too. Putting a dog or dogs in that kennel while on the road is asking for trouble. They don't want people riding in a TT when it's on the road, so why should a dog. A kennel at that level puts them close to the road, where they can get exhaust funes, debris, rain spray and who knows what thrown at them. It would be a good place to put them if you need to house them and run off some place when parked.

To me it's just putting a dog in a danger zone. Like a pickup truck. I hate seeing people who let their dogs jump into the back of an open pickup and then drive off down the road with that dog loose back there. I've seen it many times. Now, what's going to happen to that dog if the driver has to make an evasive manuever or rolls the truck, jams on the brakes etc.... I don't even think they should be in casges in back of an uncovered truck for the same reason either unless those cages are anchored down. Off my soapbax.

you don't want to put any human or animal in the trailer when driving.
most TT's don't have shocks so it'd be a traumatic experience.

i drove my DW for about a mile, with her in the trailer. when i opened the door, she took a swing at me. she thought i had hit holes and swerved on purpose to scare her. i told her that i drove as slow and as smooth as possible, which i had. and it still scared her. and that was only for a mile.

it would be kinder to put her and the crate in the bed of the truck, than in the trailer.
