As to propane? Yeah I will probably end up doing the exchange thing. Ya know it seems to me that it WASN'T all that long ago that you could get a 20gal tank filled for $8. Then I remember it jumping to $14. Now it's s20. HELP!!! ~sigh~

Barbie, I am gonna check out a few thrift stores first but will probably end up at WallyWorld to get one. But it's not a dire necessity right at the moment cause from where we are sitting it's, I think, a 99ml trip to the closest WalMart.

I'm sorry to hear about all the 'new' challenges you are dealing with, but after all you two have been through, I know you'll conquer these as well. I keep remembering how you suffered through the winds & cold, etc. while living in tents...Absolutely don't know how you did it & know I couldn't have. I guess my point is, whether everything works or not, at least you're out of the weather & with your experience of facing everything head-on, you'll come out winners with your new home too.... :D Just hang in there......

Well we have power again. Finally found the power panel. For whatever reason someone taped the wood down under the mattress in the bedroom? Talked to a previous owner of a 1985 Cimarron TT, he said that as far as he could remember the panel was under the bed. So Kelly got on the floor and crawled under the bed and WOOHOO, she found the panel.

Now we need to figure out why the &^%$((*&@% fridge wont kick on and run. I KNOW it was working good up on the rock before the TT was unhooked and moved down to where we were living. ~sigh~ Got to get the groceries put away before we lose them all.

Is it dual mode? (electric/gas) If so, did you switch from gas to electric? If it's just gas, then that's the problem. Hope it's an easy fix. If neither of those are the problem, open the outside panel and check that there's not a small piece of stuff that shook down on the igniter on the trip down. Blow on it...it only takes a very small smigeon of crap to keep it from lighting.

First and easiest...check and see if you have a GFCI outlet in the kitchen area that needs to be reset. Plus there is usually a little fuse in the back of the refrigerator (that you have to access from the outside door) that might have blown. You said that you had trouble when you first plugged the unit in so it could possibly be either of these things.
Edit: We've had both things happen to us.

Yeah it's duel mode. It ran on electric up on the rock so I shouldn't have to flick or turn any switch. At the bottom of the fridge is a small green lite that is on with from what the little instructions inside the thing said should be on if running correctly. Earlier it was green then went to red which the instructions says means it didn't turn on correctly. So I followed the instructions again, turned it off then back on. Lite is still showing green. But that fridge is dead warm on the inside. I think the freezer might feel a little cooler that whan it was earlier but I'm not gonna say that in 100% confidence tho.

Talked to the guy that does maintenance here and he said it takes a long time for them to chill off. But damn that was at 1:33pm almost 5hrs ago. I should be able to feel some chill in the fridge by now.

What's that saying??? "If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all"???? :(

Maybe when I wake up in the morning it will magically be cold in the fridge?

Hi Echo...so sorry you have so many hurdles to get things running correctly. Hubby says to make sure you are level - that can cause the fridge not to run correctly. We bought a thermometer for in the fridge. It helps a lot to keep us aware if it is getting too warm in it or not. How did the propane work out? In our motor home we can't run two electric heaters (one front and one back) at the same time as it causes the breaker to throw. What we do is run the front one during the day and then at night we turn the back one on. We also don't run any heater and the mcrowave and coffee pot at the same time. We can do heater and and one or the other of the other two. One more thing...do you have a CO meter? (carbon monoxide) We have one in our bedroom to let us know if there is a problem - remember you can't see or smell that and it can be a killer.

Glad you are out of the wind and rain this year. Looking forward to reconnecting with you.

a thermometer is important to have...it will tell you how cold it is getting or how warm! I do know that they warm up real easy...
but it sounds like its not functioning at all... so good luck with that
I am curious though why Kanab?

Thanks for the updates! It took me awhile to catch up, but I think I got it. I'm so glad you made it safely to your winter "home", in spite of your tire incident :o Hopefully you have the time and funds to get her up and running sufficiently. Glad you found the breaker box. I had one located at the foot of the bed, too. In Myrtle, the GFCI breakers tend to trip occasionally, especially in bad thunderstorm...and I have an expensive surge guard! I know I'm not alone when I say I feel better that you are all no longer staying in the tents ;) I do admire that about you, though. Makes me want to meet you :D I thought I was tough to tent camp for a month every summer with little ones. I remember a picture of me, holding my toddler son, all bundled up, sitting in our tent, all bundled up, in the cold rain in MT. You would think nothing would make me nervous after all I've survived! I will be praying for you ;) Be safe!!!

P.S.

Sheila, Kanab UT?? Cause it was close by and pretty cheap!!  It was only something like 77mls from the lodge to here. With paying off the truck and buying the TT we sure didn't have much money left over. Couldn't really afford to buy new tires, if we had it would have shorted us even more on money and there was no way we were gonna attempt the trip to Blythe on the old tires. Campground here isn't the greatest but it's only $300 a month with everything included. The one in Blythe last season was only $50 cheaper. Supposedly once I figure out it the TV antennae on the roof works or not we will even be able to get either 6 or 8 local channels and we got wifi too. We will be going back to the Lodge in the spring for another season, so again, from here it's not a long trip back up there. The following year in '12, we are planning on jobs at Dollywood in TN. Working there we will only be about 2hrs from home, son and grandson. Then we want to go back to Maine for a season to see our friends up there. Either on the way up? Or most likely on the way down and south we want to stop in NY to see friends and family. Would really like to have a newer lighter weight TT by then.

No workamper job. Tried to get one here at another campground but I don't think the owner was impressed with the pics of the TT. I guess she wanted a newer and shinier one for her unpaid camp host. We would have gotten the site free in exchange for working 3 days a week. Would have helped out big time, but oh well. So we will be looking for work. Have no idea what we might be able to find here in town? Hopefully something that pays more than unemployment!!!

Echo, did you consider going to St George? It ins't all that much further away and averages about 20 degrees warmer than where you are now. There probably would be more options for jobs there too. Just a thought...

Hmmmmm?

We still have power but we are using the 110 from the power pole, a heavy extension cord and a power strip to run the 2 heaters. Gonna rerun the other extension cord thru a back hatch, under my bed and I will use the separate cord for the smaller of the 2 heaters. Will make me feel lots better.

After our little hoppy shifting ride the night before? Yesterday we repositioned the trailer and now have all 4 stabilizer legs down. Sure wish I could put a block/rock behind the tire on the door side of the trailer but the ground slope here in the site is such that I had to put blocks under the tire on the door side to bring it to level. Have 3 blocks so all in all together they are at least 5 1/2 inches high. I do have big ol' rocks behind the tires on the 'drivers' side tires.

Today we will be doing some cleaning again, sorting and rearranging things. Then I will finally make sure my water hose is nice and clean, get the water hooked up and then the sewer hose. Then?????? I think we will have it!! :?:

After reading that over?? I think I'm ready for a nap first!   8-) Gads it seems like I'm really tired and haven't done anything. Getting lazy I guess in my old age! hehehehehe

Barbie I kinda thought about going to St George and setting up camp. But just didn't really want to try to pull this thing to far with the old tires on. And as it is with blowing the one tire I doubt very much that we would have made it very far at all on just the remaining tire.

OK, got ribs in the crockpot for supper tonight so that's about taken care of. Now it's time to try and go to work on this place. Wish us luck!!! Hope everyone has a super great day and remember to stay safe doing whatever your doing.

Love to all

Sounds like it's all coming together for you guys :D It still may be worth looking for workamping jobs in your area. Usually the national, state, county, or Corps of Engineers parks allow their workampers to have older TTs. At least you have unemployment. May I ask how you qualified for it? How old is your DD? I've forgotten.
