WET Saturday!!!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WET Saturday!!!

Postby Redetotry » Sat Nov 13, 2010 8:57 am

We are getting a little rain at last, not much but at least maybe will settle some of the dust. Everyone has been using face masks to mow their lawns because of the dust, well actually to mulch leaves, the grass died long ago from the drought unless people were watering big time.
I still don't feel back to normal and recline a big part of the day, but I'm getting better at eating mushed up food, the trick is don't look at it! I'm debating about juicing, the veggies are raw and organic, I do wash them off well, but I'm sure some germs are left that cooking would take care of, but...I really miss my fresh juice! The dentist said to keep my mouth as clean as possible so I'm not sure. Oh, and I tried to call him Fri afternoon with another question but the office was closed and the message said to call the number we had been given for after hours, there was no number in my paperwork.
Winnie was funny this morning she did not want to go out in the rain and kept giving me one of her 'looks' I know you are all familiar with those looks!
Did anyone see the special on PBS last night about dogs? They showed a border collie that was amazing. They could show him a picture of a toy and he would go find it in another room. They said he knew 300 words. I don't know why they seem surprised at how much a dog understands I believe most dogs who live day to day inside with their people understand pretty much everything said to them.Think how many words you have to spell!!

Morning everyone!

Its a beautiful day here in Panama City Beach, Florida.. and I hope to take advantage of it with a little bike riding. I've been away from this forum for a looooooooooooong time... almost as much time as my rv spends in the repair shop. I will be attending the GTG in Florida and look forward to meeting those that can attend.

The constant repairs due to mechanics of very little skill and my own inability to do my own work, put a damper on my rv enthusiasm. The expense has been tremendous, way beyond the norm. I'm on my third rv.. and this one is my last. (famous last words).

But I have a new mechanic, new hope. My new hobby of geocaching (www.geocaching.com) also adds great fun to rv camping. No matter where I go, I have something fun to do. So with renewed hope and interest, I say...

Happy RVing! :)

Hi Alice, I noticed that you are new to the forum but must have missed you in 'introduction'. I will look forward to meeting you in Florida.

Hi again...

I'm not actually new to the forum. I was here long ago.. but my account and all previous posts were deleted during a clean up of inactive users. I was more than inactive.. I had cobwebs. :)

I also hang out at the ORS forum. I found it difficult to post in both forums without being redundant but will try harder this time.

I live in Panama City Beach, FL and use my rv only recreationally.. when its not in the shop. I live alone except for my dog Abby..a chocolate lab. Abby is still too hyper to travel with me - perhaps next year when she matures a bit.

My hobbies are cross stitching and geocaching. I have discoverd two cross stitching retreats with rv camping, one in Kentucky, one in Florida. Still looking for more. Couldn't make the Kentucky retreat this month due to uncompleted repairs still needed from the Florida retreat last month. Its never ending with me.

Geocaching can and is done everywhere. I love when I can combine all three interests in one trip. Geocaching is a new hobby for me and it is largely responsible for my renewed interest in my rolling repair bill.. er RV. I can't wait until the repairs are all done and I can plan more trips. I especially enjoy the Florida state parks for pricing, beauty, and geocaching. Just wish my dog Abby would settle down. She is a rescue that I adopted last Xmas, after the passing of my very much loved dog named Sandy. I still can't discuss Sandy without tears. But as much as I complain about Abby, she does have her qualities.. camping just isn't one of them yet. Her activity level needs to come down a few notches before we try it again.

I'm happy to be "back" in the forum and real excited about the upcoming Florida GTG.

Whew.. after this long winded post.. one would think I had entirely TOO much coffee this morning!

GOOD MORNING ALL!!

It's another beeyoootiful day here today----quite a shocker to my system to have over a week of sunshine with no rain. It's not good for the Floridians, as they need rain desperately right now, but, for me from the dark, cold Adirondacks, it's a blessing.

Each day I clean out more space in the trailer, and re-sort and re-shuffle stuff. Much of the stuff will go to my rooted house in Orlando, leaving me with just what I need for here. Yesterday, Sue and I filled my fresh water tank with water, de-winterized, and turned on my water heater. So far, so good---no leaks! Nice hot water, too, for dishes and washing stuff. I will need to excavate the sewer hose so I can then use all my facilities using the pump and tank until we can get this extra well primed and running. Then I will need to add my pressure control doodad to the lines, along with a fillter.

Today I have no clue what we will do, other than take my generator out of the back of my truck and clear it out for transporting furniture treasures I may find for my rooted house. Perhaps we will have a bonfire tonight, with some guitar music and dancing around the fire.

Alice, it's good to know you are having some fun now after all your trials and tribulations! Abby has to mellow some day, so hang in there.

Redetotry----it's tough having mouth stuff done----here's hoping you heal fast now.

I am looking forward to meeting all the ladies and a few gents at the GTG in January. All I have to do now is find a safe, non-scary way to get my trailer up there. Of course, I could just drive my truck/tent camper!

I hate to use my kids' WiMi card, so I will make all my posts brief until I can get on my own cable connection at my rooted house.

I hope you all are having a nice November wherever you are, and whatever you are doing.

Good morning ladies,
Alice, its good to see you posting again.
Soos, so glad your enjoying the sunshine, and my my my, you are a busy gal these
days with all the unpacking, rearranging, shuffling, etc.
Today is filled with some routine chores of course, laundry, dishes, dusting, and
of course theres groceries to get as well, but not too many as I still have to
clean out the pantry. Will do some of that this weekend as we have a food bank
at work and I'll donate some of the stuff I know I will never eat, like canned beets
somebody gave me. I know some people love beets, but to me they taste like
dirt.
Taking a few items over to my daughters today, and a few other items over to
my friend Ron.
Whatever you do today, be safe, and hopefully its something you enjoy doing. :P

I posted early and now want to comment on a couple of later posts. Soos, just wondering if you have a house there and are moving to it, how comes you took your big trailer down? Since you don't like hauling it around, have you thought of trading it and your truck for something like a Roadtrek or Pleasure Way? I see several advertised in FL.
Good luck with your lab Alice, I have a friend who is still waiting for hers to settle down seems like with labs you get a calm one or a hyper one.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Sunny here in Kanab UT. Didn't get at cold last night as the night before cause the cup of water out on the picnic table didn't freeze. Heck of a thermometer system I've got. Very hi-tech don't ya know.

Can't remember if I posted it yesterday or not but we got some stuff out of here and over to the small store room we have. Love that little store room, it's a 4x6 cost $20 a month. Was really a pretty good deal they offered, pay first month then get 2 free! So it's costing me only $20 for 3 months. I like it! ;) Now to just get MORE out of HERE.

Gonna have to hook the TT back up to the truck today. My own stupidity really. Didn't have the jacks down under the rear of the TT cause I didn't have enough blocks for them back there. Welllllll, I was standing just inside my bedroom when Kelly came "running" for the bathroom. WOW! The trailer bounced and shook enough that the tongue came off the blocks I had under it. So the trailer now sits crooked in the site. Gonna be a whole lot of fun cracking that tongue jack up high enough to get it back on the ball. Get this straightened up and resettled. I HAVE got to get more blocks for under the rear jacks. I'm hoping the lumber store here has some scrap 2x6's that I can talk them out of. Don't really want to have spend the money to buy jack stands, at least not right now.

But on a really high good note!!!! The fridge seems to be working OK so will be putting our groceries in there right quick. We could really use some good luck our way right about now! :D Just have to keep our fingers and toes crossed for now I guess. Well after we get the TT straightened out of course, will be needing to use them fingers n toes to work first.

I'm really looking forward to getting this place cleaned up and livable. We will probably be amazed at the stuff we find. We have put it off and put it off but the purge is gonna happen this winter. Altho we don't have the 'stuff' we use to? We still have way to much than what we need or for what we have room for. I had a good idea of ? space ? in here for things but I don't think Kelly had a clue? It's been like pulling hens teeth to get her to get rid of things. And a lot of those things are non-essential items. I've got to get it thru her head that just because she can find a hole or smidgen of space for something means that she can keep it. Granted some little extra can go in the back of the truck for travel but you all know that the weight adds up. ~sigh~ More weight adds to the problems and uses more gas.

I am really bummed that we can't afford to go home to TN to see son and grandson. But then again I'm grateful that we hadn't planned on going any further than right here. Heck for that fact it would probable be cheaper to fly home than drive.

OK, time to get off my duff and get to work. Whatever ya'll do today hope ya have fun, get accomplished what ya need and stay safe all at the same time!

Love to all

Sparkle, I've been on the forum almost 3 months now. I have read in 'Bether's Blog' (think it was hers) of your struggles with C. I am sending my very best wishes and prayers for the new year to be one of restored health. I understand the toll radiation takes..tho I don't understand chemo, never having had it, I can vouch for the hard punch of radiation. As I read the varied difficulties and struggles of the members of this forum I believe I see a book in the making. My heartiest salute to my new friends...a tougher more resilient group I have never met :!:

Sparkle! So good to see a post from you as I have been wondering how you are doing. My friend in CA who is undergoing both chemo therapy and radiation for her lung cancer is coming to the next phase of her treatment-----hopefully the latest scan they will do will show that the cancer has shrunk enough to allow them to do surgery and remove a portion of her right lung and the two lymph nodes that are affected. One of our bith mothers' group members will fly there to be with her following the surgery. We are all trying to contribute what we can to help with the plane tickets.

I hope that you are able to keep eating and fattening up! If you can send me your latest address, I can send you a card or two from the sunny south! I might even be able to send a picture or two, as well! You two friends of mine battling this disease are braver than I ever hope to be, and I think of you often. I know you dont like to discuss things like this, but I need to mention it at least once! KUDOS to all who are battling!

Love from me and Molly
