Help, as a newbie this would be my first GTG and yes count me in. So how does it work? Does everyone call and make their own reservations scattered all over the park? Someone fill me in please. For those that want to drive over to Crater lake if you have the time you should do the Century Drive Loop near Bend. It isn't far from Crater Lake and a beautiful 66 mile drive. RV parks are all over, there is a really big one on Hwy 97 near La Pine. I will get the name. I have driven by it for years and it is always full. I am planning to travel all of central OR again this next summer. It is the most beautiful place, having driven from Kennewick, WA to Klamath Falls, OR via Hwy 97 for the last 39 years I still can't get over the beauty of the mountains. Anyone interested in a second GTG in that area after the coast or a convoy let me know.

How on earth to you get photos on here??? I am stumped.

Hi, LInda!
This will be my first campground/RV GTG, too. Yes, we are to call and make our own reservations which they will take after the 15th of this month. We are going to be in Loop B. Marda and I were thinking something close to the showers. Probably some of the sites in the 40s.
I might take you up on your offer to convoy. Sounds like great fun.

EDIT: Do state parks ever offer WiFi? I'm thinking not.

Linda, I am going to try to get site B44 and suggested B46 for AlmostThere as they are closest to showers. What size rig do you have? B41,B48,B50 and B52 are all large sites and in the same area as 44 and 46.
We can check availabilty and make reservations on the 15th. You can do it online or call: 1-800-452-5687 8am-5pm. Hope to see you there. A convoy sounds like fun.
Marda

PS: I have stayed at the LaPine State Park which is directly across Highway 97 from Newberry Nat. Volcanic Monument. Nice place.

Marda,

I have a 20' Roadtrek B motorhome. I can't walk very far. Have one small dog and would like to be close to showers. I do have a handicap sticker if that helps.

I am on my iPhone so can't bring up the campground map, but do remember a handicap site next to the showers. Just don't recall the site #.

Linda, your best bet is B43 a 30 ft. site right next to the path to the showers. Next best would be B45 a 25 ft site also next to that path. Both are across from B44 and B46.

My MH is 35.5' Class A with 50 AMP's. Probably would be towing also. Would like to Gtg in Bandon, OR but rarely make plans this far in advance AND I haven't taken a MH trip that far solo. Always a first I guess. Sounds like fun.

I highly recommend a GTG to give a reason to stretch comfort zones   Who know how long it would have taken me to travel from Ohio to FL on my own without the promise of last Jan's GTG to give me a good excuse...ur...I mean a good reason.......   Then it was Arkansas and Branson.....and....I'm working towards Canada and AK eventually ;) :D :D

Rufflesgurl, where would you be coming from?
You could reserve a site now and if for some reason had to cancel I think it would only cost you a small amount if you didn't wait too long to notify them.
B41 is 44ft; B48 is 50ft; B50 is 50ft; B51 is 40ft; B52 is 45ft and they all have full hookups and 50amp service.

Marda - Thanks - I would be coming from the central coast of CA (Pismo Beach area). You're probably wondering why I would want to go way up to Oregon coastal area when I live 10 min from the Pac. ocean. LOL Rags (my Shih Tzu) and I just walked at Pismo Coast Village RV Resort this AM and it was so gorgeous - cool, windy but still gorgeous - and I think I will go get my MH out of storage and stay there for a few days.

I'm still contemplating the Bandon OR gathering. I love Oregon.
