WHERE I AM

Postby Nasoosie » Sun Oct 31, 2010 5:54 pm

Sue and I are at a Flying J at exit 219 on Route 81 in PA. I had to sign up and pay for one hour of internet time with my credit card. I left home in a blizzard yesterday, with my tire pressure monitor not working as it said my tires were at only 20-30 psi----I measured them with a gauge, and they are all right on 50 psi. I tried it again today and have had no time to call TST to find out what in hell is up with that. So I have paid or an expensive thing that, so far, has been useless.

I stayed at Lorrie's last night and could NOT log onto her WiFi----we worked for over an hour and I gave up.

We drove for only about 100 miles today as I needed to try to fit in Sue's over 200 pounds of food and other stuff that she didn't realize we could not carry. And all my stuff was scattered all over the floor last night in piles of messiness due to my packing and stowing wrong. So I spent all morning today re-organizing and re-organizing and making Sue leave about 50 pounds of apples destined for my son at Lorrie's house. When Lorrie pulled my trailer into her VERY narrow driveway loast night when I first got there, her shrub made of steely spikes (cut off branches) stabbed my trailer, scratched it, and then trapped it before I could scream at her to STOP! Her son brought a chainsaw and sawed me free, destroying that shitty shrub.

We got off from Syracuse at about noon or half past today in snow, sleet, freezing rain, heavy winds, and you name it. When we got this far, I found a spot I could fit into and here we are.

I need the furnace as it's freezing out there. It was blizzarding as we ate dinner inside. Stopped now.

Are we having fun? No comment. If I don't head back north tomorrow, I have no clue when I will next get online or be able to call anyone and let them know where we are. Whose idea was this anyway?????

Until sometime in the future, I remain insane, stressed, cold, and wondering what on earth I was thinking of.

Soos,

I made a post just now and told ORS about this one. So maybe some of them will come over here and read it. Sorry to hear the weather is giving you fits. There is a High Pressure coming in so maybe that will kick all the other junk out of the way. I think once you two get all your stuff organized and all, you should be all set from here. Think sunshine, warm temps, shorts, t-shirrts, beach etc., not cold, snow, snow shoveling, hauling wood and hauling wood and hauling wood, being by yourself. If you make it down this year, next year you can leave earlier.

We are following you every step of the way. :)

Hopefully you got a night's sleep and the world looks better....... it is all a learning curve....you are just getting a dose up front.....it gets easier and you learn what not to do a second time. :?

if you still have all your body parts? :) Worst things could have happened......
life can still be good..... Go south woman.....the world is not flat you will not fall off..... find some beautiful things along the road and remind yourself that you would not have seen ___ if you were not out searching/watching for it.... Take care....

Hang in there Soos. Things will get better. The first long trip is a learning curve and I can still remember that I took way too much stuff. I'm confused tho, don't you have a heater in your rig that runs off propane?

Soos - I've been off the forum for a couple of weeks but just had to come check on you and your trip. I know you can do this and that before you travel much father SOUTH, you will be able to relax and enjoy the journey. Take a deep breath and keep driving; don't worry about it if all you can do comfortablely is 100 miles a day the whole trip.
