Bikerchic made it to Apache Junction.

Just checking in to let you all know I made it to Apache Junction, where I will be for the winter :D Had a great time on my travels with BarbaraRose (Barbie) and my BFF, Colleen. I tried at one point to post photos, but my computer decided to blip out. Maybe I can make a file of travel pics on Photobucket and post the link to it. I didn't have cell phone coverage while in Joshua Tree, CA so couldn't use my tether. I was too cheap to pay for the park WIFI.

The park here is primarily a mobile home park and is very nice. The sites are HUGE, but very sunny, so I have already moved to another site. This one faces the other direction so the sun isn't beating on my fridge side and I can sit in the shade of Myrtle without having my awning out all the time. All of the people here that I've met so far are very nice. There are a lot of work campers and we all live on the same street so I'm sure I will get to know most of them. I have met several of them already. A guy named Mike helped to park me today and lent me his 30 amp extension cord until I can get one tomorrow. We can wash our RVs so I need to get a new garden hose so I can give Myrtle and my little truck a bath....and Rags, too ;) There are two of us in the office named Linda so I'm Linda Sue here and the other one is now going my Miss Linda  She has already been training everyone to call her that. She and the office mgr, Yulla, seem like they will be fun to work with. They seem pretty laid back and they do things the old fashioned way...without computers. I have another day to get settled and start work on Fri. Still need to find my second job. Still trying to decide what to look for. I'm torn on whether to go for my profession of Opticianry or something else.

I'm sure I won't get caught up on here, but please let me know if there is something I really need to know.

Linda "Sue", good to hear you've gotten to your destination and all is well. Hope you continue to enjoy the job and co-workers, also hope that you find a second job that you like.

Lina "Sue", I like that name. Suits you. Glad you got there okay. My next door neighbors are down in Apache Junction too. If you ever come across anybody by name of Dick and MaryLou Davis, tell them I said hi. Althogh I dont see much of them anyway as they keep pretty much to themselves. They have a place somewhere in Apache Junction. House up here is for sale as they plan to live permanently down there except maybe come up to MI for a couple of months in summer.

Have fun in your new job.

Glad you made it safely, Linda Sue. And glad you like the park and people. Good luck on that job search.

I just might be up in Apache Junction this weekend, have to check out the storage yard
I'm putting my rv in. Would like to meet you while your around so let me know when you
get some sort of work schedule set. Maybe we could run off to the arboretum one morning.
I've been wanting to go there. They have a website, Boyce Thompson Arboretum, its just
outside AJ but before you get to Superior.

Thanks for checking in, Linda Sue, and I hope you have a fun time meeting new friends and co-workers. Some other job will turn up, if you really need one. Are winters that hot out there that you will need to run your AC? I am counting on FL being 90 degrees, or under, so I won't need any AC, which I really dislike.

Happy job hunting!

I survived my first day in the office. Still have a lot to learn, but at least I'm not working alone. I got the procedure for collecting the rent down pat. Need to learn about collecting rent for RVers and making reservations and collecting deposits for them. I much prefer my custodian job at the lake. I'm not used to sitting in an office anymore. Maybe I should try to get a waitress job for my second job. At least I would get more walking in! Meeting more nice people. I'm kinda the kid on the block, so they probably wonder why I'm here

Well, Soos...For now I need my AC, but hopefully not for much longer. I still have it on at almost 9 PM tonight :o It got up to 97 today and I think the avg high is supposed to be 83. I could stand it longer without, but I have to think about Rags. Thinking of at least leaving the fan on when I go to bed. It was a bit warm last night and supposed to be warmer tonight. I sleep better when it's cool.

Sounds like everyone likes the name Linda Sue, including Linda Sue  When I was growing up, some of my family called me that. I had to go by it once when I was on a women's bowling league and there were several of us with the name of Linda. I just have to get used to introducing myself that way here. The other Linda is going by Miss Linda  I think she likes the status.

Ava...I would love to gtg with you! I will PM you with my phone number. I could use the stress relief, if you know what I mean ;) All the changes of moving, starting a new job, looking for another job, and not knowing anyone here...well, need I explain? I could sure use a friend right now!

Sheila...I came so close to calling you on my way here. I hate to admit that I passed right through Q on my way here, but didn't leave early enough to stop. I do hope we can gtg again, though.

I agree, Sheila. Whew! I'm glad you weren't there yet when I blasted through.
