Joshua Tree mini GTG

Let's get together!

Joshua Tree mini GTG

Postby sharon » Sat Oct 23, 2010 9:33 pm

Barbie and Linda (Bikerchic) are in Joshua Tree and we've been trying to get together for several days, but Barbie's been busy with job interviews, Linda's been busy visiting with old friends and I've had some stuff going on here. We were finally able to touch bases this morning at their CG. I was beginning to wonder if it was gonna happen! Both of the girls are just as sweet as can be and we really enjoyed our time together, even tho it was kind of short. Really enjoyed Linda's friend Colleen, too. They were off on a road trip for some sightseeing and there was a park I wanted to check out in Morongo Valley, so after a couple of hours we said our goodbyes.

Oh yeah, Barbie got the job in Temecula and the room she posted about. She said the woman who owns the house is really nice, it has a pool and she has kitchen privalages, so I imagine the chocolate chip cookies will soon make an appearance at the campfire before long. Linda will be hitting the road on Monday for Apache Junction, Az. They should both have wifi before long, I know Barbie will have it at her new house. Linda didn't even have cell phone service at the cg they're at, and neither did I. We both have Verizon, but I guess no towers in that area.

Wow. A great mini-gtg. Even greater - Barbie, things are working out so well. A job, a place to live - all before Linda had to leave for AZ.

Great picture. Glad you were able to gtg. Where's Evie - would have thought you could have dragged her along, Sharon :)

Evie was out flittering around in Flitter...I left her a message, she got home Friday but didn't get back to me until yesterday when I was already up there. Going over to her new to her house on Thursday for lunch and the grand tour. Don't expect pictures since she said she still had cartons piled everywhere...unless I can sneak a couple in... I am sooo glad she made this move, she sounds so much happier! She's visited all 4 pools in the complex and is already on a decorating committee and has joined some kind of a club, can't remember what it was...crocheting or something. Had trouble finding a date we could agree on for lunch! Go Evie!!!

They were at Joshua Tree Lakes rv park Diana. It was ok, typical desert setting, but don't think I would recommend it...sites were all pretty un-level, no sewer hu and over priced in my opinion...over 30 a nite with tax. I think I heard one of the girls say the bathrooms weren't all that clean. But there's not much in the way of cg's in that area where they could have showers and electric, and with 3 of them and being there a week, they needed that.

Hi gals!
It was great finally meeting Sharon and Chewy! I wasn't feeling very good that day, so was quieter than usual (had some sort of intestinal issues for a couple days there, but better now).
I said my good-byes to Linda and Colleen yesterday and headed up to Temecula. I had to sign papers at the salon in the afternoon. I start next Sunday. I then went to check out my new home. Unfortunately, in the daylight, it was a mess! I can handle clutter but the house is dirty too. The room and bathroom I have, hasn't been cleaned since before the last renter moved out several months ago, so I need to do a lot of cleaning in here. I don't think the bedding was even changed, so I went out and bought all new bedding and put that on. There is dog poop all around the pool area so not so inviting out there either. The garage is a disaster but was able to find a small area to put some of my stuff for now. My roommate is very nice tho. Her cat and dog are sweet too. Her dog, Ozzie (part german shepard and part charpei) seems very starved for attention tho. He is always on me (jumping up) and follows me everywhere. He keeps jumping on my bed and I don't want him up there so have to shut him out in the hallway, where he whines outside the door. His nails are terribly overgrown so I think I may bring him in later this week (she is going out of town for a week) to get them trimmed, and start taking him for walks. He also needs to learn some manners.
I may look for a small apartment of my own for December if I can find one for reasonable rent.
This town is really nice tho! I have never seen so many shopping malls and restaurants in one place! The Old Town Temecula street is really cool! Several blocks of old western type buildings with lots of (more) shops and restaurants with a western flair. Also lots of horse farms around here. Have even seen some cowboys!
Already bought some cookie dough and a new cookie sheet so may bake some tonight! Really been missing those cookies! Sounds like you gals have been, too!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Oh, dear. Sorry your new place isn't what you expected. I hope you can find something better to your liking and a bit more private.

Barbie, bummer on the place being so messy. I doubt I could be as nice as you about it. She knew you were coming and couldn't be bother cleaning ? What's up with that? Anyway, glad you like her and especially like the town. How is it being back after all these years? Anything like you expected it to be?

That's a really nice pic of the three of you. Glad you all had a good time. Linda
