original post....

Any interest in Bandon OR in August of next year? It's a darling little town on the the coast....new waterfront/marina, beaches, golf, river, Bullards state park for camping, yurts to rent (if you aren't camping!), light house, beautiful bridge over the river, Wild Life Refuge, and probably more that I can't remember right now. (Only a couple of hours from CA redwoods to the south and Crater Lake to the east).

I know, if you look at the map Bandon is a bit north of half way on the West Coast, and if y'all wanted to meet exactly half way we could find something in Northern CA, but I really like Bandon and I bet you would too!

Thoughts?

Diana, My suggestion? Pick an exact place, pick the exact dates - post it - and let those who can come make reservations. I'd love to come, but right now, don't believe I'll be anywhere on the west coast next year. That said - probably many can. Make the plans, and some will go!

Would love to, but have already made plans to be in the middle of the country July thru mid Oct. I love the Oregon coast, one of my favorite places. Weather's gorgeous there that time of year.

Bullard's Beach SP looks like a really nice spot. I'm game if we get enough interest.

Aw, should have been last year! My cousin lives in Bandon. I'll be east of the Mississippi next summer. But there are still plenty of west coast people to have a gtg out there.

There are enough of you west of the mighty river to make it even if the east coast folks can't make the run... I can see you guys having soooo much fun and the east coast folks being the ones waiting for pictures...and with a time lag to boot.    And Mitch? She can make up pictures as she goes......

Again, set the date, make reservations. What if there's only 2 or 3 of you? That's enough for a gtg. And planning this far in advance, I'd be very surprised if some more didn't make it. There are lots in the area - so go for it. And don't wait for "enough interest" or it won't happen.

The only problem I see with the State parks is that if you have a bigger rig you cant fit in them. I avoid state parks for that exact reason. Occasionally there is one that has some sites I would fit into BUT they are few and far between. My 2 cents worth.

Diana - I would be interested. My Class A MH measures 35"6". Have been all over Oregon but would definitely love to do it again!!
Especially would love to see Crater Lake again - it's been years since I've been there and then it was not in a MH.

Let us know.

Here's a link to Reserve America for Bullards Beach State Park. They look to have 192 sites, many of which are really LONG. I didn't notice any 50A service, though...just 30A. Some sites have full hook-ups. I only looked quickly at 2 pages of sites.

I would love to see Crater Lake also. Seems like a few of you have recenly visited there. Perhaps someone has knowledge of a nice CG nearby? I'll have to do a search also.

Thanks, Mitch. You're such a sweetie! :P
Mazama looks to be a good option. I bet it fills up fast, tho. Would be fun perhaps do both there and Bandon? Just throwing that out there.

Mazama:
http://www.craterlakelodges.com/Mazama- ... d-815.html

Lost Creek info:
The Lost Creek Campground lies three miles south of east Rim Drive on Pinnacles Road. It consists of 16 individual sites open for tents only. The facility lies at an elevation of 6,000 feet along the banks of Lost Creek in the Sand Creek drainage.

Each site at this facility is available on a first come, first served basis. Campers can expect a picnic table and fire pit at their site with drinking water and flush toilets maintained at the facility. It is usually open by mid-July and closes in mid-September, although these dates are subject to change due to extreme weather conditions.
