WEDNESDAY MORNING

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WEDNESDAY AND SS PAYDAY FOR ME!

Postby Nasoosie » Wed Oct 20, 2010 7:51 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I am late because I was reading and looking at Colliemom's wonderful presentation of Fall! (Of course, I also slept in a bit longer than usual this morning, too, as it's so dark out there!) Like her part of the country, it's about 40 degrees outside this morning, overcast, and just plain grey all over. Our beautiful maple and oak leaves have been on the ground for a couple of weeks or more now, although the bright yellows of the poplars and the yellow needles of the Larches are still providing some color, and the geese on my pond are becoming fewer and fewer as they make their way south. The smell of those leaves and the sounds of those geese as they zoom in for a landing spot at night are intrinsic pieces of the Fall season for me. I have been so busy this year with packing and deciding and debating about following those geese that I even forgot to take pictures, for the most part! I find I am still torn about staying where I have been all the winters of my life, where I am 'used to' survival---where things are comfortably normal, albeit difficult alone----and heading out to a new adventure which will allow me to extend my summer/spring/fall activities for the entire year. I guess I definitely need to try it at least this once. And so I continue packing and shucking and shuttling 'stuff' back and forth from house to trailer and truck and back again!

Today is my SS pay day, and so I will head to town to pick up some last minute groceries and goodies for my trip. We plan to basically rough it, in the trailer, all the way to our destination, unless we can find a campground, or two, that is open and has space for us to stop for a night or two with hookups. We have comfy beds, porta potty, paper plates gas for cooking and refrigeration, and batteries for lights and TV at night. My generator will keep the batteries charged at least once a day.

Most of my packing is done, the house is organized and has its alarm system in place, and I guess things are ready to go. The question remains, "Am I ready to go?" Sigh! I keep hearing my father's advice, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained."

And so off I will go a week from this coming Saturday.

Happy Wednesday to everybody!

WEDNESDAY MORNING

Postby Colliemom » Wed Oct 20, 2010 7:53 am

Yoo hoo, anybody up yet :P I just got off the ORS site and nobodys having morning coffee over there either. Guess I'll just have to without this morning. Not a coffee drinker anyway :)
40 degrees out a daybreak this morning. That was a couple of hours ago. Looks like it might be a cloudy day today, can't quite tell yet. It's daylight and a few clouds are moving in, but sometimes that's just morning stuff. But last I heard it was supposed to be kind of chilly and windy for a few days. Changing of the seasons.
Kind of envious of all you heading south for the winter. Hmmmm, guess maybe next year I will have to look into that. Need to research places to stay as I don't know any RV parks or such and a lot of them need advance reservations. I really don't have an urge to leave winter completelly, but around about March, it would be nice to get out of Dodge for awhile. Happy travels all.
Not sure what's on the agenda for today. Do have somethings I can get into, but not in the mood. Might go outside and do some branch trimming although it it's going to be a bit windy, might not either. They are just low hanging stuff, no need for a ladder type thing. But want to them before I put my lawn tractor away for winter so I can use my cart to haul them to my dump spot.
Have a great day everyone, wherever it leads you.

More yard work is in my future today. The sun is shining ... but cold weather is forecast for the weekend & beyond. Sooo ... time to saddle up.

Soos, I can't believe your trip is so close. You must be beyond excited / scared. Sometimes for me it's hard to tell the difference. LOL. But it sounds like you are planning well and will have a wonderful trip.

Just past noon here in the PNW. The sun is shining, perfect Fall weather, again. BUT Weather is fore-casted to change drastically this weekend. Snow levels are dropping to 3,000 in the passes! Our highs are only to reach 50 w/rain. Of course! The weekend is when I stand out in the weather to watch my GDs play soccer!! ;) I feel so sorry for those little girls/guys playing in the cold rain, but most don't seem to mind.

I went to the RV storage and picked up Little Missy. That way I'll have her here in the AM to take her to get winterized. It's amazing how my mind has clicked and I'm really enjoying her!! I'm so excited about all the newbies on the forum from WA state! I sure hope everyone keeps up with the forum, and those looking to buy an RV get their wish. I'd love a GTG this next spring/summer.

Got the lawn mowed yesterday. Hopefully I won't be having to do that much longer. After the first good frost I'll prune back my rose bushes. This spring I whacked back my hydrangea to next to nothing and the darn thing went bananas!! I've had to cut it back 3xs this summer as it's went bezerk. Not only in height, but it put out shoots everywhere!

Ok, need to go Farmville!
Have a super day, ladies!
