TUESDAY AT 19 DEG. F.!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

TUESDAY AT 19 DEG. F.!

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Do you all have to put your countertop stuff into bins to travel down the road like I have to do? I guess some of you maybe have under-cover spots to stow all that sort of stuff, whereas my lack of storage space for spices, scissors, stereo speakers, etc. makes for always having to stow a lot of stuff in bins. My two kitchen sinks are usually good for what stays around them when we come to a stop, but my computer desk always requires some stowing of sutff, some bungy=ing of storage cabinet drawers, etc.

This is our coldest morning so far this fall as we were standing at 19 degrees F. when I got up. It's only up to 21 now. My woodfire is feeling ever so good!

My friend from CA had her first bout with her chemotherapy and radiation yesterday, so her battle has begun. She was pleasantly surprised to discover that the chemicals didn't cause unbearable burning pain when they opened the port into her veins. She was actually able to read a bit, watch some TV, munch on some good snacks she had brought, walk to the bathroom wheeling her bag-rack, and sleep through part of that long first day infusion. They gave her two major cancer killing meds along with much anti-nausea and saline solution to keep her hydrated and peeing. Our other friend from our group who is staying with her these first several days of treatments said Kathy wanted to drive home, and she did do the driving. So that was good news to hear. I am sure that as the treatments progress, 5 days a week for two solid months, she will get very worn out and will need to be driven to the hospital and back. The best news is that she is apparently NOT allergic to any of the chemicals they opted to use.

Today for me will be more organizing and shuffling of stuff from house to trailer and truck. I decided to wait for my SS check to get deposited tomorrow so I can pay more bills before I head to town to do last minute chores there. I also need to install my tire pressure monitor thingies. I am really hoping that nice sun will warm things up a bit out there!

Coffee is hot and Hazlenut, as per my usual favorite flavor! I hope you will have happy trips down the roads to your wintering-over sites, and I plan to stop by and visit people in FL when I get there and get established enough to begin my FL winter life! Happy Tuesday to all!

Happy travels!

Gee Soos, things are really cooling down out your way. We are now getting morning frosts but other than that our mornings are in the upper 20's, low 30's or above. Course you are in high evlevation in the mountains.
I've been up and at em since around 7. Carpet cleaning day today. He's been and gone already, 9:30 a.m.. I only have three bedrooms with carpet and my mudroom, so it doesn't take long to do them and since I have them done twice a year, they are really dirty to a point. More just needing it due to the dogs laying around on them. Don't want the place smelling doggy.
So carpets are cleaned, dishes done, breakfast over, laundry put away. In a bit here I am leaving for town to run some errrands and meet a friend for lunch. We haven't seen each other all summer, so it will be good to catch up.
Won't be staying on this puter long. Carpets wet in here, so I don't want damp slippers etc.
I need to get my laptop hooked up and running on the web so I can reconfigure my emails. This desktop is acting up more and more these days, so it's getting near time to go over to the laptop and let this thing head for recycle. It's a good 7 years old anyway, no use putting i na new hard drive. Been a good computer. HP.
Got my physical done yesterday and glad that's done. No problems other than my thyroid was a bit low. First time for that. So we are going to let it ride till spring and see what my spring cholesterol blood check shows. It could be just a one time thing. My mom and aunt both had thyroid issues to a point. Aunts was high, mom was low. Not going to worry about it right now. Otherwise, I have a clean bill of health.

Good Morning Soos and Sue and everyone else... what happened to my message... daaa who knows... saved it but had to shut the mac down and now cannot bring it up... so again we start... cold here this am was in the 30s and will recover to the 60s... will be warmer tomorrow in the 70s...

Oh Soos it is so hard to have someone you care about go through what Kathy is now... I pray for her every time you write about her... our friend Jake I think he is 20 had a bone marrow at 0 so they are not going to do a transplant but he will be on 2 chemo the strongest they have for a year... my son in law John and some other men fixed the basement and put a whirlpool down there so he can have comfort... this family has lost one to leukemia and now they are fighting with this son for his life... if this had not happened he would be in Afghanistan fighting for our country now he is home fighting for his life...

Down time yesterday with a cold but went to Snooks last evening and got some soup and Tussin took it three times in the night and another dose this am... it is working great... do not feel anywhere near as bad today... so very glad the front bedroom got cleaned this summer whew... did not get the rest of the house cleaned but I bet Beth does not even notice... but she will smell the bleach I have been using to keep the germs down...

The fireplace pilot blew out so my son in law is coming over to change the battery and light the pilot... so I have the furnace on am toasty warm...

Soos I move things down into the sinks... and lay the TV on a soft surface... sometimes bungie cupboard doors if they tend to open... like my clothes closet...
WOW Sue you got a lot done this morning... come on over anytime like fast cleaners... my daughter Jackie is one she is the one that went through everything in my place here for my summer 'cleansing' ha ha ha... gotta love that...

Have a great day everyone... I know I will as soon as Beth gets here...

Bungee cords are an RVers friend. I also use museum putty to hold stuff down. I actually drive with two pieces of my Indian pottery on a shelf held with the putty. I also use the putty on the bottom back of pictures I have hung in the RV.

Soos, my kitchen counter stuff rides in the sink. I have to strap in the kitchen chairs (those are sooo much fun catapulting across the room!) and put anything else that might fly around on my bed -- often in laundry baskets (sometimes I put those on the floor). The comforter keeps stuff in place. Plants go in the shower. I'm lucky that my cabinets remain closed. The "pots" drawer below the stove used to slide out when I turned left, but strong supports and a good latch fixed that.

It's beautiful here this morning ... about 45 degrees before the sun came up. It's going to be sunny in the high 60s all week. I've been doing general yard cleanup and my garbage cans sitting at the curb contain the evidence. Once the garbage truck comes, I'll get after some hedges that need a pre-winter haircut.

I'm going to fetch my MH from my son's house today. He's going to borrow it in a couple of weeks for a trip to Zion. I need to de-mouse it (!!) and clean their "remnants" from the cupboards before they take it. I'll also remove my "stay-in-there" clothing" to give them some room.

I think I'll start my day by taking Kiwi for a walk. Life is good.

Morning all! I'm here at my local coffee shop for some early morning computing. I tried and tried to load pics to Photobucket from home and finally gave up! Hopefully you will see pics of my current project in a separate thread.

It's getting close to my return to Texas so am also preparing for travel. A couple of rv related problems to get taken care of before leaving. But I'm hoping for no delays with a departure date of Halloween. Since it's getting so late in year I've decided to stick to I - 10 with a stops in Tucson and maybe Silver City for a few days.

My cousin recently had his 75th birthday. I'm making an old family recipe, Coconut Apple Strips, for him today. They are basically pie crust in a jelly roll pan with a layer of apples and a topping of coconut, eggs, sugar, and evap milk.
Sounds weird, but really tasty!

OK, time to do a couple welcomes and tackle Photobucket again!

Afternoon ladies. Had a lot of T-storms roll through in the wee hours of the AM. The kind that get overhead and CRACK and BOOM, just to make you jump from your seat. Finally stopped around 5AM so slept in this AM. Temp should be around 68 or so and cloudy.

With all the talk of getting ready to travel, de-cluttering and cleaning, I have decided to tackle the kitchen. A few weeks ago I cleaned the garage. It's really amazing how much stuff accumulates in such a short period of time. I decided, no more buying "stuff" just because, will apply the something in, something out rule. (We'll see how long that lasts. :D )

To all traveling, stay safe. (That actually applies to everyone) Linda

Afternoon all,
Another bee u tiful day here in the PNW! Need to take in as much as possible as we are to get rain starting on Saturday, of course. Just when my GDs have their soccer games. ;)

Bowled this morning. The first game, 95  , then 143 and 148. My average is 125. I'm not a great bowler, but have my moments and I enjoy it.

Afterward I got groceries, came home, ate lunch, took Choco for his walk, and just as I got on the computer the furnace guy came by. If you might recall I had a new Trane heat pump put in a couple months ago. On Saturday I didn't hear it kick on (it's right outside my computer room window), just the furnace in the garage (behind the wall behind my computer desk). I thought there was a problem so called Trane out. Anyway, all is well, The pump doesn't run if the temp is below 40 outside, just the regular furnace heats the house. I wasn't aware of that. Steve did check it all out just in case and it is running correctly. No charge. :D

Tomorrow night is our HOA monthly meeting. Not sure if I'll attend. Nothing major happening in the hood.
Thursday I take Little Missy in to get winterized. :( Then that night I'm subbing in a Bunco game.

Soos, keeping your friend in prayer. My neighbor, David, just finished with his second round of getting both! It has made him tired and his hair has thinned out a bit, but otherwise he's done pretty well.

I'm excited for all of you getting ready to head south. Safe travels, hear?!
