Off to Ohio tomorrow

Postby asirimarco » Mon Sep 22, 2008 8:15 am

Alfie is happy again, her refrigerator is fixed and she has six new batteries. We'll pick her up tomorrow morning and hit the road for Ohio - Wilimington, Ohio only about 150 miles away. Will stay in a 1000 Trails park there. Going to stay four or five days then home again. While there we'll venture up to Dayton to the Air Force Museum at Wright Pattersen AFB. Then into Fairfield, just outside of Cincinnati to visit Jungle Jims Market check it out http://www.junglejims.com especially the adventures tab. Six acres of food of all types. And of course the covered bridges in the area - I found six within reasonable driving distance. The campground has wi-fi but probably only in the lodge so will try to keep in touch.
When we come back we'll leave Alfie at the RV place again to get solar panels installed. Then Oct 10th we'll be going to the Parke County Indiana Covered Bridge Festival for a few days. And sometime in November we'll take off for Nevada and CA to see our kids then on to Mexico for the winter - anyway thems our plans now - who knows what we will actually end up doing.
Better start my list of what we need to do before tomorrow -

Carol,

I really appreciate all your information about some places to go and see in Ohio. My brother and family live in Dayton, and I fully intend to head back to see them sometime, especially if I can find some kind of workamping job there. It sounds like you're going to have a wonderful time in the next few months or so - have a safe and very enjoyable trip. Oh, and please send pictures!

Hi Carol,
It's always good to know you have the "first aid" done for the rig. Mine will need tires next spring before camping season. I'll be glad when that is done and paid for.

I checked out that website,... whoooeeee,.. Jungle Jim's looks interesting. Have to put that on my list.

Have a great time camping and stay safe out there on the roads!

Carol,
Was at a LOWs event at Cowan Lake this past weekend and many of the members went to Jungle Jim's on Friday before I got there. One great buy they all mentioned - Boursin soft cheese - like a flavored cream cheese spread sells for about $4 in the grocery stores. They had it for $5 for cs of 12. Only catch was expiration date in early October but package says it can be frozen. Have fun in OH. If you come north, let me know. I live in Lima.
