Party barn this afternoon.

There is actually about another inch of the white stuff out there, now. Mandy just called, and she may not drive here tonight. I told her to call the state cops to find out about road conditions. All they have is rain up north where she lives. I don't know if tomorrow will be any better than tonight, or even worse.

I have to admit, I love to see the first snow of the year----always have! There is something very enervating about it for me. Maybe I will get one cross-country ski session in tomorrow before it all melts. Sigh! Am I doing the right thing by going south? (After hauling about 40 logs of cordwood in here today, I was ready to leave right then! That was before the pretty snow was here.)

Got a lot done today, and am now cooking some slum goo for supper----a perfect snow night recipe!

Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

You knew someone had to ask - what in the world is SLUM GOO?

And it seems like just yesterday, you were showing us pics of Spring blooms...

Wow Soos, snow already seems so strange, we're still running the a/c, it's 82degrees here right now! Very pretty pics of it.

Those are beautiful pictures, Soos. Looks so peaceful. But just remember how FRIGID it gets in the winter. Pretty snow is one thing, howling winds is another. Think FLORIDA.

Wow ! I can't believe you have snow already !! It would make me very sad to have snow this early in the year.
I'm sure you're apprehensive about leaving what you know, but what the heck ! You can always go home if you decide it's not for you.
I think you'll enjoy having it a little easier this winter.
Thanks for the pictures, it's really pretty.

Looks like you got more than a dusting. Enjoy your cross country skis, then pack up the water skis and come south!

Sure is beautiful Soos :) Just glad I no longer have to drive in it or shovel it! Hope you can head south soon! Thanks for the photo though and the reinforcement of why I left the northeast ;)

Soos, if you asked me my most favorite season, I'd answer Summer. If you asked me what I think is the most beautiful season - I'd say a northern Winter. Why the discrepancy? Because those northern winters come with the cold, and wind, and ice that I don't want to deal with anymore. To visit, yes. To take a vacation to, yes. To live in the whole season, no thank you :) Not if I can avoid it.

I think you just got the best of both worlds. You got to see the beauty of that fresh snow. Get to play in it a bit. And then get to head out of it for the lovely warmth of FL. And it's going to still be there if you want to go visit, or even return.

Pretty pictures Soos, and that's where it belongs, in a picture!! Head for Florida, and the girls are right, if you don't like it, head back home or stick it out and stay up there next winter. That's the joy of retirement, you have choices.

The first snow is always so beautiful, but I prefer it just before Thanksgiving and then at Christmas time. Really sets the mood during the holidays. The rest of the year, not so much!
Picture how happy you'll be in FL and not plowing/shoveling/carrying in wood.
