GOOD MORNING TO US ALL!
At 8:00 am, it's still very dark out there, due to the thick clouds, rain, winds of this nor-easter we are getting. They are saying we could get some snow overnight----guess I should have covered my woodpiles while the sun was shining! I have hopes for more bright, sunny days left in October, however, after this passes. I will need to bring in some wet wood this morning before I head to town with some more papers to put into my new safe deposit box, pick up prescriptions to take with me, some meds for Molly, too, and a gift certificate and card for the wedding tomorrow. Busy morning here in the rain.
School was great fun yesterday---I so love teaching 2nd graders. They are definitely my favorite age people. If you ever want to remember what humans are really designed to be like, spend a day in a second grade. I love how their minds work, how enthusiastic they are about everything, how absorbent are their brains, how eager they are to learn anything new, how spontaneous and active! I was really impressed by the latest reading program success-----these kids can read very fluently! I was less impressed with their math skills, but they are, after all, just beginners, with lots of room for improvement. No calculators in that school! They taught me much yesterday----I can only hope I taught them a fraction as much! The classes in that school are still as small as elementary classes should be---I had only 15 kids, which is a perfect size. A teacher can spend some one-on-one time with each as needed.
I need to call my house insure-ers now to see if I qualify for a discount due to my alarm system installation. I believe it will give me a break.
Coffee is hot, so stop in and let us know what's up---I love to read your comments later in the day! Happy Friday to all!
