"Page not found" it is telling me, when I click on your link. How do I get to where I can reserve? Do I have to become a member of something?

I am ready to cash it all in here.....screen keeps timing out---the spot I wanted is now gone, and I can't afford to pay the whole shot up front...I just don't have the money available right now. Guess I'll have to pass on this GTG.

I am furious----207 dollars for 8 days is beyond me.

GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

When I found a credit card, and bit the bullet and charged my site, putting me in more debt, I afterward discovered that the original site I wanted was still available, or was available again as the 'time out' crap had taken over. It had been 'not available' because I had chosen it first. So I called the reservation number, asked if I could get that original site, exchange it for the one I didn't want, and he said, "Sure---it will cost you another $10.00."

So I am now paying for 8 nights for a fee of 217.36.

The upshot is, I am an extremely unhappy camper now, as I am in debt once again. I think it is a horrible price to pay for a week of camping. But I have site 48 in that fk loop (which is aptly named at this point!) reserved from Jan. 20 through Jan. 28. This place had better be as pretty as it looks in those photos!

Now all I have to do is find the place---I hope someone can help me with that.

I need to go calm down now before my brain blows out through my ears. I am feeling sick about this decision....but, now if I cancel, I will pay another 17+ dollars. Remind me to never plan another stay in a FL state park.

Soos, last year I only had to pay for one night to reserve and pay the balance when I checked in. I called and made my reservations by phone. Also, they had a senior discount. Call them back and ask them about the senior discount and why you had to pay up front for the entire week. Altho at $24 a nite thats not a bad rate these days.

Whew! I'm sorry for all of that Soos, but I'm glad you're coming. I hope it will be worth it to you. For others reserving, the OFFICIAL GTG dates, are Jan. 23-28 (5 nights....see first post in this thread). Some will arrive early, but there may not be space available for many over that weekend. FL residents over 65 or disabled get a 50% discount....so I guess that's why I like to stay in the state parks. People are welcome to come for just part of the time if that works best for you.

Soos...just come for a few days :) ....whatever the bank account can handle for now :) We would hate to miss you altogether. You would so appreciate Birdie's birding knowledge and I can't really explain the beauty of Nan's laughter but it makes the world a better place. :) My reservation is in for site #39 for Jan 23-28. as we get closer I will decide if I can/want to extend at either end if there are other sites open additional days...but I am there for part of it anyway! This past year I discovered that I have a younger cousin that is a university prof somewhere in central FL. I haven't seen her in 0ver 25 years. She owns a small horse training facility and is a riding instructor (last FB message is that she was judging dressage at some national event at Atlanta, Georgia...) I don't think she will let me come down to FL again without stopping. Not that she would have to twist my arm. Okay, Sarah and the rest .....come on down  you know you want to be here. I figure that CArol will be already somewhere south of the state line soaking up the FL milder weather and visiting daughter and gks. (Oh, and Liz is sorta nice, too!...  ) Roe get ready for company on your hikes.....

Wow. :o There was a lot of action from the time I checked sites, answered a phone call here and finally got my reservation in. Officially excited.....and the campsites really are as nice as the photos show. Walking around with the dogs last year I didn't see one I would have hesitated to park in....well maybe those 1or 2 that had the busted water pipes and the rangers were having to dig out and repair

Add another to your head count, Liz. From someone who never knows what she's doing from one day to the next, I'm hoping for at least two weeks in FL - maybe even three. Must see Nan, Kathleen, and Liz new rigs. Looking forward to seeing all of you. Another officially excited member here.

Soos - If you use your FL address for reservations, could you qualify for one of the discounts?

I wonder if I could use my FL address in Orlando? No way am I going to call and find out now, as it seems calls and changes to reservations all cost 10.00. I'll deal with it when I get there. Too late to change anything now, as it's all been charged to my credit card. Cancellations cost 17+ dollars.

The reason I made my reservations online rather than by phone is because I THOUGHT I could pay for just one night upfront, and pay the rest when I got there----and I wanted to see the map of which sites were available. Hmmpphh! Little did I know!

Oh well---if I can find the place, I will be in site 48 for 8 nights. I will be happy when I get my debts paid off once again. It really does look like a pretty place, and my site is drive-through, thank heavens.
