SUNNY SATURDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SUNNY SATURDAY

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Halloween used to be one of my favorite holidays when my kids were young. Even when they got older, and the trick or treating had grown old along with them, we all enjoyed dressing up in ugly, scary costumes and going out to parties. I have saved boxes of costume-making stuff upstairs, as we always made our own outfits. One of my prize costumes, which I have been asked to do for people through the years, is my werewolf creation. It consists of Dr. Scholl's sheep wool, Karo syrup, black face paint, plastic fangs, a bit of fake blood, rubber paws with hair and claws, and more!

My friend, Sue, called me last night and confirmed her being able to come with me to FL! Now I need to get online and order her a ticket from Orlando to Syracuse around the middle of November. I am very excited to have someone accompanying me on the road this first time on the major highways! YAY! Thanks for letting me know I need to get her official name from her driver's license...will call her back this weekend.

Yesterday when I went to the post office to mail some checks, I saw that our RV traveling dentist was across the street at the town hall. On a lark, I decided to go over there and ask what it would take for him to clean my teeth. They had a cancellation, so in I went, filled out a few medical question papers, gave them my dental insurance card, and ZAP! He cleaned my teeth, asking me if I was sure I hadn't had them cleaned in over a year (I was ashamed to admit it was at least 6 years ago when I had my last cleaning!) because he said, other than some placque under my gum line, my teeth looked great! It took him about a half hour, I left no copay, and they will bill my insurance company! No money needed upfront! What a difference from the other day at that other dentist! I told him he was now my favorite dentist, and that I would see him when they next rolled around to this neighborhood next year!

My daughter and Joe came last night and will help me get some chores off my long lists today and tomorrow. So far, it is cold out there, but sunny, and that's what counts. The entire weekend is supposed to be very nice, and I am hoping it will be Colliemom's Indian Summer that is heading East!

On the list for today is to cover the paddleboat, close up the leanto, put the big canoe into the cabin at the pond and put the cabin's chairs inside, clear out the shelter up here and back in the old trailer for the winter, mow the lawn one more time, go to the dump, and, if any time left, begin mowing the fields with the brushhog which is now here and fixed. In between, Mandy and I will sort though more jewelry and valuables. That's just a fraction of one of the lists!

Yesterday's morning coffee discussion of a movie, which I haven't seen as I greatly dislike movies (trying not to use the word 'hate' so often any more, although superlatives are me!). was very interesting to read. The thoughts about the Donne poem and us all being a part of the whole has always moved me, and a thought to which I subscribe. I take it a step further with the poem 'Desiderata'---to include the universe and us being a part of a whole something so big I can't fathom it.

My friend, Sue, and I have had some heated discussions about 'auras' and 'attitudes' being predictors of what life will be like for you. Although I do not aspire to any thought that any who gets raped was putting out 'luring auras' and gets what she/he is asking for, I guess I do leave room for doubt in that I tend to be very 'bristly and cold' to leave no doubt about my wishes! That is not to say that a woman who dresses like a whore and exhibits provacative behavior in front of males searching for sex might not be asking for forceful sex. I cannot say with total conviction that some people do not send out vibes to be 'taken' either consciously, or subconsciously. "What did she expect?" has crossed my mind more than once in rape charges.

Coffee is hot and sure does taste extra good this morning as it's chilly out here. Stop by and tell us about your day!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning, what a beautiful day outside it is here. Little cool but to climb into the mid 80's today. I had a list of things I had hoped to get done today, BUT reading Soos's greeting, and what all she plans to do, I AM POOPED,  So glad you do have help there, Soos, for some of the heavier stuff anyway. Have no doubts, you would still have gotten it done though.

I have been elbow deep in pictures, trying to get them in an album. This has been a several months project, have to find the right mind set to work on them. (ok, I know what mind   ) Glad I live alone, have had two card tables setting in the middle of my livingroom floor for a very long time. I am sick of walking around them , so pictures will be in albums before week is out or in trash or in back of closet hiding.

Not much news from this area, have enjoyed the nice days, cool but good working weather. So much to do, no doubt, not all will get done :) Have to take time to enjoy these nice days too, if its just setting outside, making pics out of clouds up in the beautiful sky we've had lately. What a stress reliever that is !!

Have a great day everyone, what ever you're doing or wherever you are
Stay safe and just enjoy,
CArol

good morning ladies
not much going on in my part of the world that I care to discuss. I know that doesn't
sound good but I am alive and kicking. My side jobs have slowed a bit, well, alot,
haven't had any in a couple weeks and one ends sometime this week when my neighbors
get back. Fall break from school next week but have some work to do to fill in the time.
One of the private special ed schools that we transport for is still in session, so will do
those students into school and pick up a few extra $$. The budget at work has me stressed
out, management is being very strict with the time clock. I got called in for letting my
time go 15 minutes into overtime. Another driver got called in for a half hour when her
bus broke down and she had to sit and wait. That kind of stuff is making everybody
nerveous.
I have surgery coming up that can't be put off too much longer. I'm hoping for November
but of course it depends on the doctor and what might need to be done before surgery.
Our new lease came out and its got some addendums added this year that lots of tenants
are not happy with, including myself and I'm considering not renewing it. Lots to think
about.
Well, I guess for not wanting to discuss my part of the world I typed quite a bit  must
have needed to get it off my chest. Coffee is yummy, caramel truffel :D enjoy your day

I bought fresh orchard apples yesterday. And after the cold last weekend, it's supposed to break records with the warm today. Go figure.

I had a terrible time trying to replace the threshold on my door. My bil is going to make something - works for me. I also got more GooGone yesterday and removed the rest of my weatherproofing around the door. Bought another kind which I'll put on today. It's way beyond time for that. I also bought more carpet cleaner for their machine, and sometime today will get the lesson on that - so that I can get everything in here cleaned.

We are heading out this afternoon to meet a friend of my sis, have dinner and see a play - so I'm hoping tomorrow will be the upholstery/carpet/ceiling day - get it all vacuumed and cleaned in the one day. Empty this place out first, then reload - everything in the way - and under my couch to get the carpet there, etc. I'd like to get the overhead bed but don't know about that - so much stored up there and I'd rather not redo that right now - but we'll see. If I get everything else done, might to back to that. I know, I know, shouldn't skip anything. We shall see.

Hope you are all enjoying this Indian Summer we're having here. And if it hasn't reached you yet, hope you get some of it. I love summer, and dread seeing it come to an end, and this sure helps. (I also love cool nights - oh, such good sleeping weather.)

Not morning Not Afternoon so it must be Evening... long long day... we left a little before 7am... poor shadow was barking and scratching to get out of the bathroom... I am sure he settled down later.... well when we came back my pocket book was considerably lighter and I am now the proud owner of the 26' 1998 Jayco Eagle... it was in way better than excellent shape... spare tire Beth under the back... never used... they go through and detail the inside and outside and I have an appointment on Thursday to do the walk through and learn all about everything... I will pick it up and drop my Fleetwood Flare off... I got an excellent price sight unseen for it... but I did tell them the issues they said they will sell it as a handy man's special... was going to take more pictures but for some reason my batteries did not work... and I had charged them up too... bummer...

Ava please keep us posted on your surgery... Carol what a job that is sorting pictures... my daughter Jackie said that is next years project here... Soos you simply amaze me... could not do what you do in one day in a week!!!
Oh Beth I do not use as much cleaner as they say... maybe half the amount they say and scrub stubborn spots and high traffic areas with another solution... take it or leave it for what it is worth...

Best to everyone

I suspect most of you gals are getting ready for bed about now, but it's only 5PM here. I got home a couple hours ago. I took Little Missy out camping. The first couple days were wonderful, then the rain came, and came and came! With no internet nor TV I was going crazy. I read one whole book and started another and watched 5 DVDs! I was to stay another night but decided to pull up stakes this morning and headed up the road to watch my GDs soccer game. Surprised the family by pulling into the parking lot with my MH! I looked a bit worse for wear with not having showered, but it was pouring rain sideways, so who cares!? I enjoyed the game and this was the first I drove the MH in wind/rain and I did great!! Kept it between 60-65, no problems. Oh, and the new thermostat I put in worked like a charm!

Got a letter from my health insurance, blue cross/blue shield, that said that they are turning my insurance over to another company or some such. They chose a plan that was comp. to mine and said unless I wanted something different I'd not have to do anything. I did notice my rates should be lower by about $100 a month and I will now get dental back as I stopped by my dentist office and had the billing gal call this new insurance and make sure my dentist was on their list, and he was!!

Kathleen! I'm super happy about your "new to you" RV!! I hope it's everything you've wanted and you enjoy many happy safe miles in it!!

Woooohooooooo Kathleen - great news. So excited for you. I have pictures - hahahaha

Lenora - isn't it great to take the mh to a game? You had somewhere inviting to go to get out of the rain. Sorry your camping was interrupted by rain, tho. For me - I just use those days and read, read, read lol. Or clean. Or nap. But can see when you only have a couple days, you want the good weather. Course Mother Nature doesn't care.
