SCATTERED CLOUDS TUESDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SCATTERED CLOUDS TUESDAY

Postby Nasoosie » Tue Oct 05, 2010 7:44 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

My friend, Sue, called last night, way past the time I thought she should be here, saying they had been delayed in Boston and were still in Albany. She was tired, so stayed with her buddy there for the night rather than try to get up here on the deer-infested highways. She couldn't call me earlier because she had forgotten to put my phone number on her cell phone, so she had to call home, have a neighbor go back to her house and find my number for her! Meanwhile, Issy and I, who had been waiting for her to eat supper together, then ate. So Sue will arrive sometime today, hopefully before I have to leave for the dentist appointment at 1:30.

School was fun yesterday---I loved the two classes I was in charge of! The second graders and I had a really fun time, and we laughed a lot! Hopefully they learned something about chameleons, caterpillars, lady bugs, and crickets, too. I was very happy to see that no calculators are being allowed in the 5th grade math classes! Those kids are going to have to memorize some math facts as everybody had to in the 'old days.' Unfortunately, some of the students hadn't yet learned how much easier it is to multiply 7 X 14 than it is to add 14 seven times! They have cheat sheets on each of their desks to which to refer when learning the multiplication facts, but they weren't using them. I think they will now.

Today is grey and cool, but not frosty, at 45 degrees. It's warm out here in the trailer as I turned my heater back on this morning to take the chill off. After my mail check and posting this morning, I will go in and begin to fill the new bins I bought to keep pictures I am not able to get rid of---until I can scan them, as Beth did with hers. Then off to the dentist for x-rays (dentist requisite) and cleaning. I aso hope to find out if they can bond my front top teeth as they are chipping off and are very thin. I hope there is something that can be done that won't cost a fortune, as my dental insurance isn't the best.

I sent for my tire pressure monitor yesterday, and can't wait for that to come. I went with the TST brand, as it was about $50.00 cheaper than Pressure Pro, and had the best ratings on RV.net and elsewhere than any other brand. They will also measure heat in the tires. Pete has been very satisfied with his as well. My truck has built-in tire monitoring, so I only need 4 little sensors for my trailer tires. I had good use for my truck ones the other day when a piece of debris flew off a truck in front of me that I wasn't able to avoid hitting. I held my breath that it hadn't punctured a tire, watched my dash for a warning light, and nothing turned on! I relaxed and carried on until I could get to a spot to pull over and visually check all. I lucked out....no damage anywhwere. But that monitoring system was sure nice to have.

I hope you all on the road are having good weather, and that you will all check in and share your days with us. As someone said yesterday, it's really neat to be able to check in here and read all about others' doings! Even us, who are still rooted to a non-wheel home, have much to talk about. NBC is saying that more rain is coming toward the east. I sure hope it won't be the last straw for some of those rivers that are ready to overflow their banks. Happy Tuesday to us all!

I saw the weather news on TV and said, Soos is getting wet to day! Looking at the national weather map has a whole different feeling when I know different individuals are out there under those "sun" pics or "storm clouds" making their way through what ever the day throws at them.....Gray, chilly here in Ohio, though the weather man did say hi of 65. Husband has invited his brother and another friend over to help him put up the insulation and ceiling in his "Pottery House"....I don't do a lot of ladder climbing but will probably be expected to help some. As lot as I am not expected to cook for everyone

Need to get a sweat shirt on, the dogs are barking, I think some of the help have arrived!..... Morning like this it would be helpful for me to like hot coffee to warm up my hands.....Maybe I should experiment with some flavors....

Good morning! It's a beautiful cool morning here in central FL! I have the AC off, windows open, and ceiling fans on. I can hear the birds chirping away outside....probably asking when I think there might be some seed in the feeder. :D I don't mind being in FL when the weather is like this.

I got the Roadtrek registered & title transferred to FL, paying the sales tax$$$ this morning. Officially broke for at least a month, I'll have fun playing with storage solutions in it's many inside and outside compartments. Hoping not to put as much in it as I took out of the other one. Anything that's not been used regularly, and likely not to be "needed" will not go back in.

Hope everyone has a great day, rain or shine.

Good Morning... not as cool this morning but that maybe because I did not get up very early... have had a touch of a bug can't be the flu as I got my shot two weeks ago... so am putting off my trip to Indiana to look at the Jayco Eagle... oops just got a phone call it was my daughter... my son in law wants to go with us to see it... also my son looked at the pictures so it is a go... at least to look at it and maybe buy... sure am excited for the prospect of getting a MH that will better meet my needs... as I told them I am not ready to give up just yet!! Sat is the day...
Soos glad you enjoyed your day yesterday... what fun that must have been... if I had had the career I wanted it would have been to teach 4th 5th or 6th graders... but life moved in another direction...
Sounds like you have a full day Tina... let the fellas do the hard part... they are stronger than you...
OH my so nice you are home Liz would not want to have you running around the country with no clean undies... :D

No longer morning around here - coffee all gone to.
Beautiful day but down right cold. Will be an indoor chore day at least until it warms up a bit more.
Kathleen - good luck with your RV hunt. Hope you find something you like as well a Liz seems to have.
Need to get something other than playing on computer off my to do list.
Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine.

Well, it's almost the next morning, but wanted to tell you Liz that I'm glad you made it home safely and gettin the "Silver Lining" all in line ;) I pass your old Pleasureway everyday on my way to work. I gave up riding my scooter the back way in since it's in the 40's here now in the mornings ;) It was so great seeing you again :)

Soo's, I just have to say...that I hate towing too. I did it for the first time this summer so I could have my scooter with me. Granted, it is only a 8 x 10" utility trailer, but it was still way different to have it behind me when I wasn't used to having it there. The longer I towed, the more comfortable I felt with it back there. And, it was worth it to be able to ride my scooter in the Natn'l Parks :) You will actually have your house with you, so it will be more than worth it for you.

However, being from PA, I recall vividly that most of the cg's close Oct 15th and you should be winterized by Nov 1st. So finish up and get the heck outta there gf! There are plenty of rest areas and truck stops along I-95 to FL. And when you get further south into VA, you'll find some cg's open for your convenience :) It's only a matter of a few days drive or however long you want to take and you can do it :) The roads are much wider than what you are used to, so I know you won't have any problem. I have faith in you. Don't let towing stop you from enjoying the warm climes this winter :)

Love,
Sharon
