FROSTY MONDAY MORNING

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

FROSTY MONDAY MORNING

Postby Nasoosie » Mon Oct 04, 2010 4:58 am

GOOD EARLY MORNING TO ALL!

I am subbing at the local elementary school today, so am up in the pitch dark as I have been doing forever until this year! Do I miss this hour of the day? NOT!!! I am looking forward to the stint with the young kids, however. I miss elementary school ages. I think if I had been allowed to get my Master's Degree, I would have chosen teaching 2nd grade, or possibly 3rd grade, as my life's work. I love kids this age. I hope I can find something decent to wear in my 'work' clothes section of my closet!

I spent a horrendous night having nightmare after nightmare, which makes me realize how stressed out I am over what I am doing by trying to haul my a&& to FL in my trailer! My nightmares involved not being able to get to work on time, not being able to find my clothes to get dressed, mice setting off my interior motion detectors from my alarm system that I am having installed on Wednesday, not being able to find the room where I must take a test, (hangover from college days---this is a recurring dream I have had forever, it seems) and on and on all night long! Sigh! At least my two alarm clocks I had set worked as they should! I KNOW I am happy about having retired now, however. Although not sure about what I wish to do with the rest of my life yet, I do know I don't want any more of these early morning scheduled 'have-tos!' My mind is telling me "ENOUGH" of this! I love the fact that I can go to bed with the sun setting and get up when the sun rises.

Molly, too, has gone back to bed, waiting for the sun, and wondering what on earth is up with me today!

Mandy and I got the paddleboat hauled out of the pond yesterday and ready to be covered with a tarp for the winter. I will buy a tarp tomorrow when I go to town for my dentist appointment. Even if it rains again, I can now bail it out on land, dry it off, and then cover by myself. The hauling it up the steep bank from the water is the hard part. It's a big paddler, holding 4 passengers. We also picked out some jewelry to put into the safe deposit tomorrow. Still more stuff to go through next weekend when she comes again. Still to do are cover the woodpiles, park my old camper in the shelter for the winter, finish bringing stuff from the leanto back up here, put lawn chairs away in the party barn, staple up the snow fencing/guard fence along my front deck so snow can be shoveled off it, move stuff away from the walls of the cellar so Wiley and Mandy and Joe can insulate that front exposed wall and the guy can install the detectors down there on Wednesday.

Today after school, one of my college roommates will arrive for a visit. She used to come up in the summers regularly, but, since she bought her own house, she hasn't been here in years! It will be a fun visit, but I wish I didn't have two things scheduled to do while she's here! Oh well----we will have time to chat and visit.

Thank you all for the pep talks and wise advice! I so appreciate all the encouragement from a bunch of very wise women!

Coffee is hot now, so I will get me a cup and read the other posts. I also need to transfer some money from one bank account to my checking so I can pay for the alarm system this week. After that, I will get dressed and abandon Molly for the day. Here's hoping you all are having nicer weather now, and those of you on the road are having a fun time. Stop by and tell us about it!

Happy travels!

Sounds like you're getting things done, Soos. Very soon you'll be heading south, woohoo!

I remember those college dreams....I used to have a recurring dream that well into the semester I remembered I had signed up for another class that I forgot about and wasn't attending....then I couldn't find the right building/classroom, lol. Haven't dreamt that in a long time.

Once you've made up your mind t's the right thing for you to do, and actually get started, a peace will come over you about it, and the nightmares will go away.

Well, I'm out of clean underwear  , and I don't want to stop to do laundry, so I think I'll go home today. Time to take care of business...register the RV & pay it's taxes :o , and pay the rest of the bills coming due (vehicle & homeowners insurance) and real estate taxes. Then count my $$$ to see if there's any left to play.

I'm waiting for 6 a.m. quiet time to end so I can go use my macerator pump to dump. The dump station here is right beside the host's site.

It's going to be another beautiful day here. Hope it is where you are. Enjoy!

Good-morning? I have my fireplace on also, Kathleen, to take the chill off the house. Its 37 out there and feels like almost that in here :) Maggie and I, had a nice time out in it though, she ran all over and I picked up limbs and sticks that have fallen and can't be mowed over. The sun is beautiful, it is going to be a super day. Thursday, the 80's will be back, hopefully I'll get car and r.v. washed, think my time for that is running out this year. Latter part of the month , probably have to turn my outside water faucets off.

I had my first chuckle earlier LIz, when I read your reason for going home. How many times have I counted mine to see how long a visit I can have with someone :o

List of chores is long today, they won't all get done, but always another day. If not, who cares about the list anyway :) Think I'll go get at it though, good way to warm up too, get the blood flowing . I set to long, laziness sets in, and that happens quick! :)

Have a Great day everyone !!!

It was around 36 here this morning, but lovely outside now with a gentle breeze, not the cold one that blew yesterday. We went to our yearly block party and I wore a heavy coat over a flannel shirt and it felt good. Think my blood is still thin from all the100 degree temps of the summer and the cold has come on too quickly.
My back is better and I have one dog washed hooray. My friend who did the massage for me did a great job. Hope he comes back again soon!
I had to go to a periodontist and was told I need to have an hour and a half surgery to repair some gum separation. After my DB experience with one surgeon wanting to do a 4 1/2 hour surgery for a brain tumor when right down the road he found they could do a simple out patient procedure with no incision... I am wondering if this dentist has the latest techniques and if someone else is doing this procedure faster. Apparently no one does this locally as my dentist here said I could see someone in Belleville or Paducah. I like the one I picked, he told me a great story when he found out I was a hypnotist about how when he was in dental school they brought a man in with 4 impacted wisdom teeth. A hypnotist put him in hypnosis and the whole procedure was done without any shots for pain.
Have a great day everyone hope your weather is as nice as mine.

I hit the floor running...well almost. I forgot to turn off my alarm (needed it yesterday AM), and it went off at 6:20!! I know I would have slept a bit longer if I hadn't forgotten it. ;)
I checked my computer "stuff" and had some coffee then showered. I wanted to be at my dentist office at 8 when they opened to talk to the gal that does the billing as I got a letter from Blue Cross Blue Shield that they are no longer going to be my carrier as of 1/1/11, and the new company (or insurance group?), looks like it would allow me to go back to my preferred dentist but I wanted to make sure before I added dental back. Anyway, hooray, they will, so I'm a happy camper!
Then my pug has been scooting his butt again so I wanted to make sure he wasn't having another anal gland problem so called his vet and got him in at 9:30! She said everything looked fine so far, but glad I'm keeping on top of it. No charge.
Brought the dog home and then went grocery shopping. I also needed a new pair of jeans. Sorry to say I'm outgrowing the ones I have. I've been using food to comfort myself since I lost my sister in May. I know better as I worked so hard to loose the weight last year! But then, with me it's an ongoing battle no matter what's going on in my life. :(
Saturday I went to my 2 GDs soccer games. The weather was perfect!! Afterward my SIL changed the oil/filter in my car. Also checked the tires and other fluids. He takes good care of me. Then I brought the girls back home with me for a sleepover. They also wanted to invite the little gal that lives next door to me so I had 3 overnight. It was allot of fun. We played at the park, baked cookies and took walks. They went home late yesterday afternoon.
Ok, I'm gonna take a break and hit the sofa for a bit. Try to catch up on some recorded TV shows.
Take care, everyone!
