Sleepy Sunday morning

Is there a rule you have to have, um, slept in order to do the morning coffee post? It's almost 3:30 am and no sleep for me yet. I'm not putting on the coffee ... and I have laid out no sweet rolls. There is no bacon cooking, no flippin' pancakes (!!) and the bread is not in the toaster.

Yet, here I lie, laptop in lap. Think if I turned it off and switched off the TV that sleep might envelop me?

Hope you went back to sleep, Janice! It's now 6 a.m. central, but I'll lose that hour when I cross back to Eastern time today. I'll offer coffee...one cup at a time, cause my new RV didn't come with a coffeemaker.


It'll be one of the first things on my list to get....miss that!

Got a few more odds & ends to finish up the settling in here in GA....but all in all we're ready for the next 6 months at Holbrook Pond....It's been a busy weekend here...lots of tenters in and the rv sites are full....so we've jumped in with all our feet going.... (that's including Spinner who's has greeted everyone who comes by... )

Okay, better to get my shower and get ready for the day.....Have a great one, ya'll!!!

Good Morning Ladies... cold here 38 will frost tonight... burrrrrrr still thinking of FL I did rent a one bedroom unit butttttt am getting itchy feet and may be using a MH... am looking at another one this week in Indianapolis... a class C, with a walk around bed... that would solve some of my problems and they would take my old MH in as trade... I did give them a detailed list of all the faults the rig has and the strong points also... I just happened to call last Friday and the salesman I talked to said this one was taken in on Thursday as a trade in so it has not been listed or shown... not sure but will know by the end of next week... he is sending pictures via e-mail on Monday... it is a Jayco Eagle it has 29,000 miles on it... anyone know about Jayco's? sure need to pick brains... I did watch a video of the process they go through manufacturing them and it was impressive like they use plywood not particle board... and well insulated... it is at Camping World... does anyone out there have any info on camping world... are they good dealers? that kind of thing... do they stand behind their homes...
Thanks for the coffee Liz you are still smiling I bet... where did you get the dish cloth that one is mine it is in my sink now... have to get an rv so I can go to the GTG in FL this winter!!

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Janice was up MORE than early today! And I am late-----lazing around waiting for the sun's warmth. However, in the hour or so that I've been up, the sky is getting overcast, so I guess I'd better get moving if I am to bail out that paddleboat today!

I am back in my trailer this morning, the oil-filled heater has it feeling toasty in here, and my refrigerator seems to work fine now. And, for the price I paid for the job and an inspection, 200 bucks, it had better work!

My daughter and Joe showed up yesterday evening with their pony-dogs (rotweiller/lab combos) unexpectedly, as they had decided to not come until next weekend. It was great to have company, the pizza and beer they brought, some friends of theirs that I know, and a GREAT bonfire out by the party barn. We burned a bunch of my paper 'stuff' without even batting an eye! Molly and I turned in at about midnight, so I slept in until the sun was warming my head through my eastern-oriented window at the head of my bed. Today the sun is out in a cloudless sky, and I will need to bail out the paddleboat when it gets a tad warmer so they can help me haul it out for the winter and cover it over. It got down to 27 degrees last night and the stars were brilliant in the moonless sky. My indoor-outdoor thermometer says it's 31 outside now, and 60 in here. I didn't aim the trailer out when I brought it home, as I love to sit here and type the morning posts while looking over the pretty view. I will shovel it out of here if necessary, but I see no reason to spend all of this pretty fall month facing my woodpiles and the back of my house! Even though I did find a long enough RV extension cord I knew I had somewhere, and was able to buy a little connector to lengthen my coax cable at K Mart yesterday. I also bought 3 more plastic bins while there.

I like coffee made the way Liz pictured this morning----it's the same way I always make it here in the trailer. One cup at a time with nothing but my mug to wash off each day after my second cup! This way, I can also make my second cup decafe to try to keep my blood pressure under control! I have made it this way for years in tents and the leanto, also. I guess I am still a rustic camper at heart. I just don't feel as if I need anything other solid walls around me different from what I have used in tents, for years. I will admit, the refrigerator is very nice to have! Hot water I guess is nice, too, when the weather permits the use of running/pumped water. But I am happy out here with just jugs of H2O for now and my pee bucket.

Coffee is hot and tastes extra good out here where I belong! Stop in and tell us about your day. Hope we all have a very nice Sunday in October 2010.

Good-morning, seems busy here this morning, thats good. Maybe its this cool weather we are having, no one feels sluggish and wiped out I was afraid this would happen, go from being way to hot, to almost to cold for this time of year. To quick, I don't do things fast anymore

Sure hope you were able to get some rest before you start your day, Janice. I 've had times like that, oh sleep where are you? I had to do the coffee thing like that before getting home this time and I have a coffee pot Liz. Just didn't want to crank the gen, where I was. Still good however you make it, need that caffine.

Sure glad you all got there safe and sound in spite of the weather Lori. Wow, sounds like you're right in it quick too. Busy already. Whatever happened to easing into something?

Kathleen, I have a Jayco. I love it, and still in fair condition, at almost 18 yrs. old. That is if I have not messed the transmission up , making it go, with wheels locked up. One little part, could have saved me so much trouble, if only the first of four mechanics had checked it out. Thats what caused my problems with brakes in the mountains with Liz, not my driving, which is nice to know, but doesn't help situation I had to deal with. Anyway, i think Jaycos are great, thats the r.v. part, now what kind of motor, how long is it, how old is it, with only 29,000 miles not very old I hope. Does it have a generator? What kind of gas does it use? etc. etc. Make a list of questions before going that you want to know, and ask, while you are checking it out, as to how it feels to set in drivers seat etc. I know you know a lot of this stuff, and I am sure some will add to this, you'll have a long list, that salesman will earn his commission

Well, time to get ready for church, thought of crawling back under the covers after taking Maggie out for her morning duties, REALLY chilly out there. Have missed Sunday school with these thoughts , so best get moving now, or I will have messed up my whole day.

Hi gang, I have no travels to report yet. As I said, my MH has been basically a lake house since I lost my husband. The lake is beautiful, but its time for it and me to be on the road. I will drive it home later this month with my son in the passenger seat. I have only driven a few feet or so , like from the boat launch to the campsite in another MH my husband and I had years ago. Ladies, how did you all start out and how long before you were comfortable behind the wheel? I have a DVD on driving a MH I got from the RV Bookstore also. Have a great day, if anybody is in the Smokey Mtsn,I m jealous!!!

We are done with the carnival and getting ready to go to church! First time since 3/21 ~ can't wait and so excited to be with other believers. We are going to Enumclaw Community Church and then we are heading to Pasco, WA to see family.

We had a great season. I will be posting some backward glances at our time with the carnival and will make sure to post that news when I do.

Looking forward to being back with the group on a more regular basis. Well need to get ready, have to go to Costco to get gas and then drive the 30 minutes to Enumclaw. Have a great day! And talk to you all soon.

Oh thank you Carol for all of the suggestions... I had a list in my mind but you are correct I will put them on paper the mind can forget and if it is a nice one that could cause the brain to glaze over the other things (kinda of like when one falls in love they see no faults inc )... it is a 1998, has a heated underbelly, hitch in the back so I could carry my tricycle, 26ft, no booth table yea yea... the people who traded it in on Wed or Thur wanted a 5th wheel so they could leave it and not drive it around like the MH... the sales man has been in the business for 35 years so he should know things pretty well... the price is excellent and the main thing is they will take my old 90 that has a leaking issue in on trade mine has many many good things and is not ready to be junked but it needs a new roof which would cost 2 to 3k not worth it for me as the bed is a corner one and so very hard to get into...
Please anyone that has things I should ask let me know...

My first drive in the motor home was good but I was a school bus driver and drove many 84 passenger ones so the 28ft was not bad to learn... the thing that I had to get used to was the volume of air space that gives more movement than a bus with heavy seats in it... just go for it and you will do fine... rooting for you all the way ... also Ali if it has sat for a while you may need to have the tires checked and a good check up of all the systems...

AFternoon ladies. Woke up to 41 degrees. How pleasant was that after the brutal summer temps. Will be 65 today and sunny. We have no rain forecast for at least a week. It will be getting warmer as the week goes on. As long as the triple digits and the 90's have left the state, all is good.

Readytogo, I rented a class C before buying my camper and found that I started getting comfortable driving it within a half hour. The white knuckle death grip relaxed and the steering wheel was no longer a part of my anatomy. I didn't do anything fancy for the first few days, just kept to the interstate and used pull thrus at the campgrounds. I knew I graduated when I took the back roads and actually backed into my first spot at a campground. Remember, baby steps first, the rest will fall into place. The DVD will definitely help.

Kathleen, my first rig was a Jayco....they do a lot of things right. But one more thing to check: Ask to see how they do the water hook ups for the rig/year....City water, how to do a water fill, how to get water pumped from the tank... My rig was a 2005....but it had a really screwy system of levers that had to be manipulated in order to fill and then to either pump from tank or set to get city water direct. It was a PITA....required getting down on my knees, removing panel in the bathroom and feeling around were I couldn't really see well. They had apparently forgotten the KISS principle that particular year/model.
