Where's Sharon? Albuquerque!

Postby sharon » Wed Sep 29, 2010 1:52 pm

Made it to Alb about 11:30 this morning and it was a pretty good drive...altho a head wind from Santa Rosa to Moriarity. Not much traffic thru Alb for a change, just kind of breezed thru. Got to the rv park on the west side that I always stay at, went in and registered, came out to move Hope so I could un-hook the car and that's when the day went to He**. Couldn't get the door open to get in the coach! It's been kind of sticking and figured I would have it looked at when I got home. Thank goodness they had a 4ft ladder in the office and I was able to stand on the top of it and get in thru the drivers window. And wasn't that a pretty sight! Guess I shouldn't complain, for as long as I've been gone and as many miles as I've been, this is the first real problem. I'll just have to be careful not to close the door tight until I get home.

Called my dad and he's being a jerk...long story but it's got me pretty upset. The only reason I stop and see him is it makes my uncle (his brother) happy and I love the uncle to pieces and it keeps my sister off my butt. Oh well. Nice weather here, better than last year when it was snowing! Leaving here Fri AM, couldn't stay longer, balloon festival starts. The story of my life this trip! Next stop..Holbrook, Az.

((((((((((((((((((((Sharon)))))))))))))))))))))))

One reason I don't want a rig with only one door - have heard this story too many times. In TX, we opened a storage unit on someone's rig, "borrowed" someone else's child - who was able to climb in, move the furniture enough to slither in, then open the door.

In your case, I'm sure Chewy was sitting inside wonder WHAT your problem was.

I moved from an rv park to a casino parking lot on the west side of town a few years back during Balloonfest - so if you want to stay longer, I'm sure the casino will welcome your money, as it did mine :) (I actually left the park I had reservations at because I hated the park - let's see - could it have been a, um, yep, it was - a KOA).

Sorry that happened, but now you can laugh. At least we can. Lucky the drivers window was open?

A photo of you climbing in the window could have made you famous! What a missed opportunity.
Hope you make it home without any more problems.

Ok, I'll tell the story on myself. My door to the coach wouldn't open from the outside. Got a laddeer and climbed in thru the window by the sofa. Neighbor waits until only my rear end is hanging out before coming over and asking if he can help. Yes, put hand on rear and push. Door wouldn't open from the inside either. Called my RV guy in a panic - door won't open, dogs need to go outside, climbed in thru window. There's a loooong pause and he says, "Don't you have a Class C? With doors up front that open? Well, duh!!!! Now he laughs every time I call him.

I, too, am totally impressed that you have the agility to climb through the window. Before getting the truck camper, I rented a class C. I was waiting on line to get gas and a guy was going to every vehicle asking if we had anything that could help him get his door open. He locked himself out. After I pulled up to the pump I watched Sandy place her chin on the door right where the pop up lock thing was. I watched it go down with the weight of her head. Of course the keys were still in the ignition. I lucked out because the window was down enough for me to stick my arm through. I now always take the keys out when stopping for gas, with or without the dogs. :D Linda
