Last Wednesday in Minnesota!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Wednesday in Minnesota!

Postby BarbaraRose » Wed Sep 29, 2010 7:51 am

Good-morning gals! Got up early this morning since I couldn't sleep. So much to do today!! I gotta have everything cleaned out of my apartment and loaded into my car by the end of the day. Gonna be a busy day! Tomorrow morning I will shampoo the carpeting and turn in my keys.

I have been debating about going to Moline IL to visit some relatives I haven't seen in a long time, before heading to Des Moines. My dad doesn't want me to do that since it is a little out of the way, but my relatives are very excited about seeing me again. So if I can get out of here on Friday morning, I think I will head down there and stay the weekend and then drive over to Des Moines on Sunday afternoon.

This morning Zoey, my cat, will be going to her new home with a client/friend of mine. Moxy is already at his new home and adjusting well with his 5 new ferret buddies! My fish didn't fare so well. My friend's daughter put some guppies in with my Cardinal tetras and the guppies killed them right away  Obviously, they didn't take the time to read the book I gave them on which fish are compatible with other fish  .

Went to Steve's last night to get my car top carrier, and say good-bye to him. Had dinner earlier with my dad at my aunt and uncles house. It was strange, but no one even brought up the subject of me moving to California. I think my whole family thinks I will be moving back here by spring so they aren't taking this too seriously. my dad says I will be back "once I get it out of my system". One of my brother's hasn't even called to say good-bye. Well, I have no intention (or reason) of moving back here anytime soon! I will come back in the spring to visit my daughter and that is it.

I better get busy! Have a good one!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

MY mom! This is Hope using Lily as a resting matress!

GOOD MORNING BARBIE AND ALL!

As you can see, Lily and Hope have not yet denned up, although Lily's metabolism has slowed way down compared to not-so-little Hope's at this point. Interesting to see how bears make or modify a before-used den. Apparently they are very picky about their wintering-over niche.

You have your work cut out for you today, Barbie, for sure! Here's wishing you luck on your new adventure in life! I really loved that beautiful apartment you had where you are now, but, when it's time for a change, it's time for a change!

I got the trailer down out of the mountains yesterday, before the winds arrived, but in torrential rains, and left it there to hopefully pick it up this coming weekend. I miss not seeing it in the yard, and having it to sleep in overnight. It took me only about 15 minutes to hitch it up in the pouring rain yesterday morning, and I was very proud of myself! My new backup camera on the truck makes it possible to get that ball directly under the cup on the first try! Well worth the extra money to have that installed.

When I got back into the yard, I realized I had forgotten to check my live mouse trap under the sink in the trailer, and so had to call the dealership and ask them to please open it up (preferably outside) and then leave it open, as, if mice get in there and can't get out, they would die and stink before I could get them back here! How embarrassing! I am sure they now know how crazy I am, although, I suppose they have suspected it all along in their dealings with me!

I visited WalMart while at the big city, too, and bought me three more see-through plastic storage tubs for the 'stuff' in my house. It will be good to get rid of all those cardboard boxes that have accumulated dust and mold over all the years, and to be able to see through them at what's inside. I am also labeling each of them, of course, too. I also got me some stick-on window shades that were on sale, the pleated kind, to cut to size for my truck camper top rather than keeping on with my original attempt at making curtains from red baby blankets! These have little clips with them that will clip the bottoms onto the lip of the camper top when closed.....I am hoping! When/if it ever gets clear enough to get out there, I will install those today. Otherwise, it will be just more of the same----sorting and dusting off and repacking and labeling 'stuff!'

My friend, Kathy, from CA goes into the operating room today to find out if her chest lymph node (s) are cancerous, or not, which will determine their next move in there----either close her up and begin chemo and radiation, or remove the upper lobe of her right lung and the non-cancerous lymph nodes, and later begin the chemo and radiation therapies. I have everything crossed in hopes the nodes are still cancer-free. I should know by about supper time on this coast.

Please be careful out there on the roads, those of you who are traveling. I heard of record high heat again in the CA areas yesterday, and also some more flooding elsewhere. So far, we have had a wonderful summer and fall right here in my own little paradise. Stop in for some coffee, and let us know what's up in your neck of the country!
Happy Wednesday!

Happy travels!

Good-morning !!! Just checking in to let everyone know I am home safe and sound. I added the last for those who know of the problems I had. They seemed to be fixed, I think, after driving several hundred miles yesterday with no problems. I just needed my mechanic to fix it, in Savannah, Tn.. Needed one small part, that would have saved all the problems I had going and leaving the GTG, if the first person to work on my brakes had checked and replaced it, I would not have had all the problems I did. I won't dwell on that. The items, lost were also returned, all in tack. So all in all, except for the mess in my r.v, all is well here. Not ready to be home really but so many things to see too, guess I'll have to stay for awhile :)

Don't have time to check all of the forum, I have missed so much. Sure glad to see Liz, did get her new to her Roadtrek. Doubt she'll be home much, now. :) Hope everyone made it home safe. What a great time I had while in Arkansas. Highlight of my year, now to see if I can find some more highlights. Gotta clean that r.v. first, and I had better get moving. Lots to do today.

Have a great day, and be sure to ENJOY every minute of it. Doesn't make a difference what you're doing, if you woke up this morning, ENJOY !!!!

Good Morning Ladies... wow so much news this morning... Barbie be safe and enjoy your adventure... reminds me of my cousin Bea she graduated high school in Michigan; then she and a girl friend packed the car and moved to Ca... they did not know a soul there... she was never sorry one bit...
Will keep your friend in my prayers Soos... and thanks for the bear pictures...
Liz wow that is a lovely MH so glad you found it... glad you are home safe Carol... cleaning is my least favorite... lol
It will be my favorite weather again today in the 70s... no air and no heat helps the bills some...
Am having coffee and have not decided what today will bring...
Drive safe and enjoy...

Barbie, just a reminder - be careful along the river - it is flooding now in Prairie du Chien - Moline will follow. So watch your route!
