Chewys new friends

Postby sharon » Sun Sep 26, 2010 7:11 pm

I love this park, it's so dog friendly. In fact, if you don't like dogs, you might as well just pack up and leave 'cause you're definitly not welcome here! They don't have a leash rule here so I've pretty much just opened the door and let Chewy out (with me,of course), she's perfectly safe. She's made some new friends and hangs out with them while I talk with the owners or anyone else walking by. It's a small park in that they don't have many sites, but huge grounds and there's no where off limits for the fur babies. Want to take a shower with your dog? No problem. Go in the rec hall? No problem. Here are her new friends:

Max, a huge Mastiff that likes to lean on you when you pet him, talk about a gentle giant! It really hurt his feelings when Chewy would snarl at him

Domino, only a year old, kept trying to get Chewy to play. She'd snarl at him and he would just keep trying. He never gave up.

Domino and Max, just to show you how big Max is

Lucky the Rottie. One of the guys that works here found him in the NM desert almost dead..hence the name Lucky. Another gentle giant

And of course our mascots are in residence

Chewy's actually getting along well with all of them, pretty much just ignores them now. Wish I could stay here longer, but need to start heading home. But I'll be back next year for sure! This is my new home away from home when in Fayetteville!

This isn't your regular park that you stay at is it, Sharon? Isn't it funny how we get accustomed to staying at the usual places and then find a great place by accident! Great pics of the neighborhood site babies!

It's Cowpatty rv park abiut 4 miles south of Fayetteville, Ar in West Fork. That's the address anyway, but when I went to the state park today West Fork was actually another 4 miles south.

No it's not, Vickie. I usually stay at Southgate rv park, about 5 miles north of here. There was a big deal football game this w/e and they were full. The owner told me he might have a cancellation but it would be 150 for Fri and Sat nite! WTF? Don't think so fella. So now even if he has room next year, he lost a customer. I love it here and will be back. The owners here are trying to get me to stay another week for Bikes, Blues and BBQ and even offered me a bike to ride, but I really need to get started home. Not that I wouldn't love to stay, they have a ton of bikers that stay here and it's party central for 4 days. Might stay next year, tho. Depends on the weather. I keep remembering last year!

I love it. Any park that loves dogs - I love! The night before I left Branson, I had Peaches over past the last row where that grassy area was? And another man brought his dog over, we let them off leash and they romped and played. Was sorry to take Peaches away in the morning - she went looking for her new friend. Dogs like to play like that when they can. And off leash, they quickly come to terms with each other (in most cases).

Chewy is the exception to most every rule.

I know, but we're trying and I love her to pieces...when I'm not wanting to strangle her!
