I can understand how hard it is to go to work each day with that kind of stress to deal with! It is no fun! Just take a deep breath and tell yourself "this too, shall pass".

its a paid job, with benifits but they don't hire aides very often because they tend to use bus drivers in training
to fill in. I'm not sure how much they start the aides out at, but around $10 an hour cause I know the drivers
start out at $13.
Documenting will be easy as we have video on each bus. I just have to write the time down and have the
computer download the video.
I sat down last evening and wrote myself a list of the issues I want to cover with her. We have to be a team
and the only way thats going to happen is if I give it a fair chance and address the issues that bother me.
Then I can go from there. I'm not out to get her fired, just want my original aide back, but in the meantime
don't want to appear as the employee that will not cooperate.

Ava you are a supervisor's dream......and you are so right.....you have to document that the individual was informed of what you expected, the issues etc....and then sit down and give them a chance.....

Do you have audio on the bus too? If not, document that part. You're right, you have to give her a chance. Good plan to make a list. I had a written set of guidelines/expectations that I gave to my aides. Didn't develop them until I had a problem with one.

Yep! Document, document, document. But as we all know, the admin is always worried about being sued. Hoping things work out, Ava in every way. Vent all you want  we can take it. carold

Been there, done that, worn that T-shirt! Had an Engineer that I supervised and had to document her behavior for a variety of reasons. The male supers couldn't do it because she already had a number of "sexual harrasments" filed. All of them perfectly ridiculous! I wrote her up and would you believe that Bee filed a sexual harrasment against me?? I had to laugh at that one!! I finally got rid of her, but it took a lot of writing to do it. Worst Engineer I'd ever seen. Hang in there, make a list of expectations, give it to her verbally plus a written copy and make sure she signs both copies so she can't say later that you didn't tell her what was expected. Also make sure the written copy states that you have discussed the expectations and that she has read and understands what it says. This is called CYA.

Ava, you seem to have it all figured out - intelligently and kindly, too. I'm sorry you have to go through this and big ((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) to you.
