I was going to PM this to Beth and Sarah, but I thought others might find it interesting, too.

Chemo is just so hard on the body. I forwarded this to my neighbor who is now on both chemo and radiation. Thanks

Well that was depressing! I started at 120 and now weigh 80 so I;ve lost 40, a tad more than 5%. However ny radiation doc is going to give me meds for the problem. Frankly I don;t care if I ever eat again. And Beth, don;t even mention Ensure!

Good to see you post Jean... hard road you are walking... keep inching forward...
Our friend Jake is in the hospital again he is I believe 19 maybe 20 by now... he is a fighter... they want to do a bone marrow transplant but his count must be stable before they can do it...
My friend Jere is walking in MN but is slowing down... he wrote me today that his legs are getting tired... I know he has another dr appointment in Oct... not sure how things will go... he has been walking now for several weeks...
Each one faces this disease in a different way... it seems that what works for one does not work for the other... you are in my prayers Jean... hugs to you...

Jean....just remember the part of the article that states that if patients don't eat (take in enough calories) they died..... Bodies need calories to heal.... Keep fighting Gilbert :) ...just not the doctors :)

Jean...my dad didn't like the Ensure because he thought it was too sweet. We started mixing it with club soda that cut the sweetness and he liked it...tasted more like a creme soda. Just a suggestion.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Hell, put some lemon or lime juice in that sweet Ensure, add a good stiff shot of Scotch (whiskey, gin, vodka, etc.) , and Cruppers Up!!! :)

I didn't have to say a word.

And please note what Tina said - even if you think this is you - you don't want to be the ones who die because they don't eat.

Nuff said - it's your life (or death) although you know I prefer you alive and well and enjoying life again.

I've suddenly got my appetite back! My tummy rumbles - I can taste food! It must be because I'm off chemo, so I'm eating at every oppurtunity just in case radiation sets me back. I'm so enjoying this sensation, no more cardboard on a plate - oh yum!
