GREY, DAMP FRIDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

GREY, DAMP FRIDAY

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Kathy got home last night at about 1:30 am, as she called in the middle of the night (morning) and let the phone ring twice before hanging up when she got in----our plan to let me know she was safely there. I knew I couldn't get out of my sleeping bag fast enough to actually answer it! I hope she had a good flight---will find out today via email or phone call. We really had a wonderful, albeit short, time together. Visits are just too short these days.

The temperature is about 43 degrees here this morning, and I am attempting to get my wood fire resurrected. I need to bring in loads of wood today to replace what we burned while Kathy was here. It was rather cool for a southern CA girl!

Today is a laundry day, and back to sorting the house stuff, if the rain keeps up. There is still so much to do here before winter. I need to begin bringing the stuff back from the leanto sometime soon, too, I suspect. And haul the paddleboat out of the pond for the winter. I really need help to do that.

I hope all on the roads are finding better weather than what went through the Ohio Valley yesterday, and eventually hit NY City and Brooklyn. Strange, destructive weather has been the rule for this summer of 2010, for sure. Please keep an eye to the sky,

Wonderful news story about that little boy who wandered into an irrigation ditch on the Fourth of July and drowned. He was found, CPR begun, heartbeat resumed in an hour, body temp low, and, after keeping his body temp low for a couple of days, they rewarmed him, and he is FINE! Amazing things we are learning about the resiliency of kids' life these days. I love starting my day with this kind of a story.

Coffee is hot, so stop in and tell us about your day. There are so many goodies here to finish up, including one more pistachio muffin! Happy Friday to us all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

I didn't sleep well last night, again. Same as the night before. Did you know that at 3AM on the Oxygen or Lifetime channel, (can't remember which), they sell sex toys! OMG!

Glad your visit with your friend, Kathy, went to well. Good friends are a treasure and a smile in our hearts.

Drizzle is the forecast for us. I'm thinking of taking Little Missy to the state park for a couple days. I love being in her when it's rainy, not so much fun for my dog, Choco, tho.

I got a wild hair yesterday and almost talked myself into getting another dog. I've wanted a French Bulldog puppy for some time, but can't justify the $$. I was online watching You Tube videos of mommas giving birth to pugs and frenchies. So cute! Finally reality set in as I remembered the potty training and the chewing and the extra vet bills etc and thought better of it.

Might go watch my 2 GD's soccer game tomorrow if the rain takes a break.

Have a great day eveyone!

Good morning!

Got the early part of the day off today ~ don't have to be in till 4:00. Spending time on the computer after paying bills. Will do a little cleaning shortly - can't believe how messy the motor home gets when all we do is sleep, eat and change our clothes and go off to work those 12+ hour days.

One of the Customer Service gals called in and quit yesterday. Today is another's ones last day as she heads off to college tomorrow. Hope we can make it work with only three of us.

Talked to our grandson, Max, today. He is now 12! Can't wait to see him and the rest of the family in October when we go to Lewiston.

Wishing everyone a great day.

I was talking to my manager yesterday and she said she wants to come out to visit me once I get settled in California! Huh?? This is the same woman who constantly was riding me about every little thing I was doing "wrong" for the first 2 months. Now she acts like I am her BFF! Strange!

Dropped my car off last night at my mechanic's shop to get all checked over today. Just picked it up a little while ago. They did an oil change, changed out the transmission fluid (was black), replaced the fuel filter which was almost completely clogged (no wonder it was running rough!), replaced the air filter which was black, put new wiper blades on, checked a few other things, and after $260 (which my dad paid for), my car is good to go! Runs great now! Should get better gas mileage now too!

Went to the dentist this morning and got two fillings put in, so now my mouth is good to go! Then I was waiting for a guy to come over to buy my bedroom set, and my friend's husband was coming over for my aquarium. Well, my friend's husband showed up so I was helping him carry the stuff/fish out to his car and somehow, the other guy showed up at that time looking for me and by the time I got back to my apartment (no more than 5 minutes), he gave up and left since he didn't think I was home. I was keeping an eye out for him and his truck so I am surprised I missed him. Got a message on my phone from him and he was not happy because he had driven out from Minneapolis. I told him I would give him a discount on the furniture if he wanted to come back. He said he would let me know tonight. I do have another person interested tho.

Now I have a ton more things to get to but I am tired already! Maybe I will take a quick nap first and then start in. I have all day tomorrow too, to work on stuff around here.

Soos, where does your friend Kathy live in southern California? I just got an e-mail from a manager of a Great Clips out there who is opening a new salon in Yucca Valley and wants to know if I would be interested in working out there. That is just north of Palm Springs. So it looks like I have lots of options coming up out there!

It is a gray damp day here today too. Sure won't miss days like this! Fall really came on quick this year! The trees all started turning this week too! Very early for us. But then spring started early this year too. Looks like I am getting out of here just in time!

Hope you all have a good day and drive safe!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
