Well sistahs, we just survived the meet and greet cocktail party. What a great bunch of women to be friends with. Many thanks to the hostesses, Vickie and Mitch who went beyond anything I have ever seen in preparing for this get to gether. Those who couldn't come really did miss a special occasion. They even had bags for the pets complete with their names. So very cute. Emma is enjoying hers as I type this post. :D Jim had a bag with a bandana in it. The man LOVES his bandanas so he is over the moon with his gift bag. I got my official flamingo wine glass and I am over the moon. I have been wanting one of those ever since I first read about them;.
They seemed to like the Alligator Piss that Jim brought so I am going to post the recipe.
Alligator Piss
1/4 oz of each of the ingredients.. Amaretto Melon Liqueur (Midori) Southern Comfort Peach Schnapps and Sour Mix

shake well with ice and strain into a shot glass. Alligator Piss is the name because of the color not the taste!!!!! Yum Yum
Remember::: Best served ICE COLD

Could have been a very dangerous night for me - I started with wine in my flamingo glass. Course, I had to taste the alligator piss- and it is GOOD. Then Mitch brought out the pudding shots, and I had one of those. Luckily I stuck with one on all of them, and only 1/2 a glass of wine. For those of you who know the size of the flamingo glasses - that's still a lot of wine!

I'm way behind on pictures - going to try to get my Graceland ones to my blog tonight - so who knows when I'll get to the gtg ones  But I'll get there!

Vicki and Mitch sure did go over and above. They are fabulous hostesses. When I plan a gtg, I get the place and tell people where it is lol - maybe plan pot luck nights. This is way beyond that - and wait till you see a picture of the mugs they had made. WOW is all I can say. Oh, I can say one more thing - thank you Mitch and Vickie for putting this together.

WOW! I SO wish I was there!!! Looks like a ton of fun so far and it's only Monday! Looks like great weather also! What a beautiful campground. I expect lots of pics of rigs, scenery, food, gifts, etc. The rest of us are enjoying the GTG vicariously so we need lots of visuals!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

We had a great time tonight with everybody gathered at Mitch's site. Dang, we even forgot to make a campfire, oh, well, there's always tomorrow! I'm sorry I didn't get any pics today, too busy changing to our site down by the lake and getting everything set up with Mitch. Carold & tGM & Carolyn came in today. I'm pooped dog tired out tonight, but there were lots of cameras flashing and video's, so we'll see what all gets posted. This is one heck of a great bunch of women!

Great shots! Now I won't feel bad that I haven't even taken mine off the camera yet. But I did spend the last couple hours making potato salad for the pot luck. Why do we love butt shots so much? I threatened CArol that I would put my butt shot of her leaving Honeycomb up as her avatar when she wouldn't let me take a head shot of her tonight. She is now promising me a pic for an avatar. (Threats do work, eh?)

Car Museum

Postby retiredhappy » Tue Sep 14, 2010 10:32 am

Arrived Sunday after about a nine hour drive. Beautiful park and our site is right on the lake. Had some wine with some of the girls and collapsed in bed.

Our site with view of the lake.

The guys all set up in their pen. Best investment I ever made.

Carole and I went to the car museum Tuesday. Loved the old cars. They had the two cars I've always wanted; 1955 Ford Thunderbird and the 1952 MGTD.

Image

This car had the neatest rear end.

This one was the cutest.

What??? Of course we are always good. Kathleen, when I pulled in there was a truck with a 3 wheel bike in the back and I thought you had decided to join us. Maybe I'll see you this winter.

Oh thank you... now remember the trouble started in January when we were all in your MH so don't let anyone in!!! I look at your site all of the time and you have had a great year traveling as well as helping family members... good for you... yes I wanted to come but my MH has not even been cleaned out since my son in law and grandson drove it home in March... kind of slow and many problems... but I will be in FL this winter but not with the MH I will be staying in a one bedroom unit in McIntosh...
Enjoy Enjoy Enjoy... what a great group...
