The black cloud continues

Postby retiredhappy » Fri Sep 10, 2010 8:06 am

Here I sit parked in front of Carole's waiting for Chris, my repair guy.

Got here yesterday afternoon after driving all the way around via the freeway cause the road was closed by the KOA because the water was over the road, a lot.

Turned on the generator and its SURGING and running unevenly and doesn't level out after running for a bit. Called Jimmie and they were so backed up they couldn't come out. Told me to call Chris who came right over.

Plugged into Carole's and turned on the AC - NO AC!!! Thought maybe it was the same thing that happened when it was 103 outside and something on the AC turned off. Worked fine after being turned off for a while. Tried that - still no AC. I'm now more concerned with the AC - can travel without generator but can't without AC.

Am now anxiously awaiting Chris. The doggies and I spend the nite in Carole's guest bedroom with AC and a King size bed. Wow, wonder if I could fit one of those in my rig? So much room and the dogs didn't crowd me out of bed.

Just remember, every black cloud has a silver lining (or so they say).

Gosh dang it, Karen - if it isn't one thing, it's another! I know you don't want to get too comfortable in that king size bed and want your rolling home FIXED! My definition of an RV: 4 wheels with a body in which you periodically feed money. And all this time you thought it just ate gas! Nope! It likes money spent on it better.

Hope you get it all squared away ASAP.

Karen, that stinks. And doesn't make sense, as I know you've been using your air- did you check the fuses - make sure you didn't blow one running the line to Carole's? Just a thought. Good luck - and yep, they take money just like any house does, on or off wheels.

Mitch, don't tell me you're turning into a "sissy" wine drinker  I might have had a cooler or a "piss" but as of today, don't know how to mix them. I'm sure by the end of the GTG that will be remedied. And Karen, I put some out for you at the campfire :D carold

Yup - sissy I am...dry red is my drink of choice. Following a close second is a nice, cold and refreshing Carolyn's Cooler (wine based).

See you in a few...

OH NO! But don't let it get you down, it will work out. The black clouds are heading this way so maybe they are through with you. Fingers crossed!

I talked with Karen a couple of hours ago. Just wanted to make sure she was safe and tucked in for the night. I didn't know that the DBC (dxxx black cloud) pooped on her again. She is in a campground between Lampassasssass and Burnet for the night. She is sporting a brand new air conditioner. Plans to get to Tyler Saturday and then on in to PJ on Sunday. I'd like for the DBC to go away, but I really would like for it to go west or southwest. Don't need it coming east.

She has a good story to tell you about her new appliance and yes Paulette it is the silver lining!
