LABOR DAY 2010

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

LABOR DAY 2010

Postby Nasoosie » Mon Sep 06, 2010 6:51 am

GOOD MORNING TO EVERYBODY!

It's about 43 degrees out there so far! Not exactly a summery morning, but better than what the Mountainous Idaho mornings have been like lately, according to a friend, at below freezing already, with intermittent snow! Guess I should be happy to just have it be cold!

Yesterday I tackled my kitchen and all its 'stuff'----I cleared off all the counters, washed and sterilized them, re-arranged counter-top appliances, fixed some lighting (although I haven't attempted to once again replace the overhead main light which quit after only about two months of being replaced last time), found some small countertop gadgets to offer my daughter or to toss out if she doesn't want them, went through stacks of handbooks and manuals for various things, throwing out those that were for long-gone gadgets or appliances, and made it way more usable out there. Today will be the tough part----under the counter storage areas with all the various pots, pans, electric pans, etc. that haven't been used in years. OR----I can tackle the upstairs closet which has all my 16mm, 8mm, super8mm, and more movies and projectors and cameras, plus a bunch of wall pictures and photos and clothing not used since it was stashed in there some 20 odd years ago! Also, all my Christmas stuff is stored in there. I have glass balls from my parents' first Christmas, for instance, and bubble lights from the 50s! Good grief! The kitchen under-the-counters is beginning to sound like a better deal!

No mice caught last night, either in the trailer or in here. YAY! I need to get some bills paid this morning, then go grocery shopping after I see how much I have left to spend on food, before I tackle the sorting and tossing again. I also need to call the RV dealers and set me up an appointment to get the ice box repaired. I should also try to get my enhanced driver's license once again, now that I managed to get TWO proofs of a physical address.

I hope you all will have a good day, whatever your plans may be. We love to read about what you are doing, so stop in and let us know what's up. Coffee is Hazlenut, as usual, here, with vanilla creamer. Happy Monday and Labor Day!

Morning,
I haven't checked the temp outside as it's still dark, but the furnace is running yet again this morning.
I didn't sleep well. Saturday I was so tired and I slept almost 12 hrs straight. VERY unusual for me. Then yesterday I found a sore lump on my throat if I touch right in the bend of my neck in front just above the voice box. This morning it is bigger and sorer. Not sure what to make of it. Will give it another day and then go to the Dr's.
Barbie, glad your garage sale picked up and hope you find a good home for the kitty. I'm thinking the home without other pets sounds best.
Soos, you are on a roll with houseclearing/cleaning. I know I always feel so much better when I finally tackle the chore, just hard to get me motivated to get me going. ;)
All I have to offer is coffee right now. Cold cereal later or yogurt with fruit later.
Take care everyone, travel safe!

Good morning! It's chilly here in NC this morning, with heavy dew on the grass. I dug out my shower shoes to walk the dogs, so my others won't get soaked. I'm really enjoying the cooler weather, though.

Carol and I will be packing the RVs today. I'm going to make a gas and grocery run too. We hope to get on the road sometime tomorrow after some errands Carol needs to do. Getting excited about the GTG, and especially about being on the road again. We'll take a leisurely route to AR.

Soos, I vote for the kitchen cabinets. If you do photos and old Christmas decorations, you'll get wallowed in memories and not get much done....at least that's what happens to me. It'll be easier to purge pots and pans.

Wow, Soos, I am wore out, just reading all the possibilies of what your day might hold !!!!!!!!!! I'm running away from all my stuff and dust and dirt here   Its all promised to wait for me

Good-morning, good morning, this is the big day, packing up the r.v. and we're heading out tomorrow. Fill the tank, get frig. going, all that stuff. I'm so excited !!!! Could do without all the effort of work involved today, I'm ready to get in the drivers seat and get out of here  But I learned years ago, there is always pain , before gain(reads good time in this instance).

We've been having some cool mornings here, it makes it easier for me to hope that I might make out alright without my AC. I'm not going to allow that fact to dampen my spirits on this outing. Everything always works out!!!!! (Have fan will travel) ;)

I know there are more then me, getting very excited around the country, this morning. Hope you all have a Great day, wherever you are, whatever you're doing. Big thing is, be smart and stay safe.

Whatever you are doing, enjoy,
CArol

Good Morning Ladies, it is 62 this morning... I could not sleep so got up before 6 made coffee and cleaned out a drawer in the kitchen... yesterday when I opened the drawer to take out a dish towel there were the infamous black mouse tirds... yikes they have invaded my space... I will wash the towels and put out traps... not like you soos I put out mean ones... I have never seen live traps...

I have both doors open and put a fan in the window to bring clean fresh air in... it will be in the mid 80s today... in my mobile home that will be spelled HOT... the sun shines on the south side and the heat builds up inside so the earlier I open up the less air conditioner I will have to use... I had the highest electric bill I have ever paid this past month... I was talking to my neighbor she has a tad bit smaller Mobile home and she has a line of trees down the south side of her home however her bill was $20 more than mine...

Oh I am envious of you Liz and Carol... sounds like where I would love to be... but will take a short trip to the county park in a week or two to see how I do... Margie said she would help me get things in order and that that would be a better idea than taking on a 550 mile trip... this park is 10 miles... if I get into trouble I can yell real loud and family can hear... actually I am stubborn enough to try it myself... good for me...

Oh soos I agree with Liz make it the bottom cabinets you will get lost in memories and not get a lick done if you do the closet... I had planned on sewing my lace panels while I was in Mi but not sure if I will go so I may cut them this week... notice I give me several days to procrastinate...

Barb I hope your sale ended up very good... my son in law took the left overs from our sale last month to Homes of Hope... Margie said do you want anything? I took a small box over one that holds a dozen pint jars and said if this gets full that is all I am taking back! Hard to do but it is done...

Almost take care of your throat you never know maybe that is why you needed the extra rest you were coming down with something...

All you that are packing and cleaning take care and all that are on the road drive safe...

Peaches and I got a good walk in this morning. Then she got a good golf cart ride from one of the employees. Another walk. Over to Jean's where I decided to get her garbage to the dumpster before everyone left - they were already looking full and Jean had quite a bit that had piled up. Came back and took a shower (in my rig) and did all my hand washables.

Now, I'm having fun watching the line up at the dump station. 6 lined up right now. And one of them just blocked the entire road from other vehicles being able to drive around. What an idiot. One of the employees is actually "working" at the dump station - basically to make sure no one stays there longer than necessary, I'm sure. Overall, with the crowds, wasn't too bad. But something about weekenders - they make messes and don't care. The bathrooms were trashed several times a day - poop on the floor, for God's sake. No excuse - and of course, no way to tell who did it. So the workers were constantly being called to clean up messes that shouldn't have happened. Nothing against your weekenders - it's not all of them, by a long shot. I just always wish the parks could find the culprits and take away their right to camp or rv! And same for the full-timers that do the same rotten stuff.

Beautiful day here again. I know it shows warmer nights again coming - but boy, I hope we can have this weather in AR - crossing fingers and toes. And in Branson. And right on :)

Hope you all have a great day - and Soos - don't try the drivers license or any of those offices today - they won't be open. I also vote for the kitchen cabinets if you want to get done today. I loved doing all my pictures, etc, but they do take time - cuz you'll go over every one.

Kathleen - mid-80s is my favorite weather - I love it - no air for that, in most cases, for me anyway - unless to take down the humidity. And in a permanent location, would probably get a dehumidifier instead of having to use the airconditioner - that's what I did in my house. It's been mid to upper 80's during the day here all week- windows open, no air used in a few days now. And I've gotten cold at night- just the best sleeping weather - and the best warm days - my kind of weather. That's why we're all different, eh?
