SEMI-SUNNY SUNDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SEMI-SUNNY SUNDAY

GOOD MORNING CAMPERS!

It was very cool last night, and is still about 48 degrees here this morning at almost 9:00 am. Sigh----summer weather is fading fast! Molly and I just got back from taking a tin cat full of FOUR mice I caught in the trailer overnight! That's themost I have ever caught at one time! I am very glad I have three of those tin cat live traps now, as this si proving to be a very prolific mouse season! No mice in the two in the house, however. Maybe I will crawl under the trailer today and try to figure out how in heck they ae getting in. My new screw-on power cord seems tight enough, and my other water inlet holes seem tight. The onl;y thing I can think of is the satellite coax cable that I have coming in through my stove vent, which, by necessity, needs to be cracked open to admit the wire. They could tightrope that wire, I suppose! Or, I guess they could be coming in through the refrigerator vents somehow----I will look again back there, too.

As far as this house goes, I suppose there are tons of ways they can come in here, including a large space where the walls meet the roof under the eaves----by large, I mean at least wide enough for a mouse to get through. I left some space when I spray-foamed that space years ago, to allow for moisture escape. I think, if I had the time and could stand that rock wool insulation behind the upstairs wall in the crawl space, I would seal it completely off and try to install those condenstaion vents at each end of that crawl space, with tight screening over them. However, that can be left for someone else at this point in my life!

Yesterday was a dump day, and I finished cleaning out my 'stuff'' from one of the upstairs bedrooms. It is now ready to be finished, as the room was never finished off----just dry wall, no seams sealed, no trim around windows, and way more. Before I even attempt to do that, I need to put a new roof on my leanto. I will see how much a metal roof for that would cost, and if I think I can cut it to fit and install it.

I also need to do a lot more sapling/brush cutting with my rotary brush saw, including the open field, to make it easier to mow with the brush hog when Wiley gets that up and running once again.

The sun seems to be coming out, so it's not such a bad day right now. There is always plenty to do here, no matter what the weather brings. I hope you all are having a good weekend, wherever you are, and whatever your plans may be. I am goin online now and ordering me a SPOT GPS tracker/finder with emergency contact service that is supposed to work just about anywhere on the planet except for certain parts of the large oceans. That just may be the answer to my having no cell phone service here, or for anywhere I may be in the future. The cost of monitoring AND tracking is 149 per year-----well worth it if you live alone and like to do things outside where those "I've fallen and can't get up" monitors won't work! I will let you know if it works when I get it. If I don't want the tracking part of it, it will cost just 100 per year----less than 10 per month, if I choose to pay that way-----well worth it for peace of mind. I think I also want the tracking service, as then my kids can track me and my vehicle all over hell and gone, if I opt to have it on!

Morning all! I'm in Jackson, Mississippi getting ready to drive the Natchez trail down to Natchez. Wifi here comes and goes, mostly goes and it's a pain! I have pictures to post from LA, had trouble getting PB to work (the first time that ever happened) and figured I would do it here...don't think it's gonna happen, but we'll see when I get home. Hope everyone has a great day!

good morning ladies,
am going to visit my friends Mickey and Ginny today, have an invite for dinner.
They have lots of pictures to show me from their 8 month long trip around the
United States. It will be good to see them. Lots going on in my world lately, not
sure its a good thing or not but working on a decision with my rv. Daughters
job has decided to do the same thing with their employees that the school district
did with us, cut everybodies hours. She is so stressed about her budget and what
its gonna be like to live that way we are thinking about putting the rv in storage
for $50 bucks a month and me moving into her condo to help her out. It would
free up 300 a month on my budget and I'd be able to help her financialy to get
over the rough patches making sure all her bills are paid on time. It really is a
good idea but the issue is with the girls, the condo association doesn't allow
pets and I'd have to keep the girls over at my friend Rons. I really don't want to,
but sometimes we do what we have to to survive. I don't want to see her go through
what I've been through over this past year. I'm used to living on nothing but she
isn't and she's been such a good daughter and I don't want to see her lose her
condo while the Ariziona state economy is taking a blow. My lease expires the end
of December so we do have a couple months to prepare and think it over.
It would be for at least a year, maybe two. Putting the girls up for adoption is not
an option at this point, I just can't do that unless absolutely requires it. Ok, I'm
done getting that off my chest.
Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.

It was a lovely cool morning once again for which I am grateful. I went to a festival yesterday and everyone was in such a good mood. Temperature in the mid-seventies with no humidity is reason enough for being happy.
Soos, In the last couple of weeks you've listed enough chores and repairs to keep several people busy for a long time. Have you considered just closing the door, getting in your truck and driving down the road. You could take a month or so visiting people along the way to Florida, you've even have time to make it to the GTG. Get an ice chest and have the fridge fixed when you find somewhere you want to stay awhile. You are retired let put the chores off and go play.
Ava I hope things work out that you will be able to keep your dogs, maybe your daughter can find part time work.
