SUNNY FRIDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SUNNY FRIDAY

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

The story of that little premature baby, born 3 months early to the Australian couple and pronounced dead, was just on the NBC Morning News, and it has me in awe and weeping. It makes me wonder how many other little newborns might be kept alive by handing them right to their moms rather than putting them in incubators right off the bat. What a true miracle for those parents and that child...or could it happen more often, given the chance? I will be anxious to see if any brain damage occurred. Apparently he can see and hear just fine, so that is a good sign. It must be that there was breathing so soft and low,and a heartbeat not perceptible to the doc, that allowed the strength to return to the baby. Whatever it was, it is a wonderful thing to behold.

It's 60 degrees here this morning, and the sun is coming up into a clear sky. The coast of the eastern seaboard is experiencing some wild winds and rains from Earl this morning, and I hope, if any of you were near there, that you found safety. I am starting the day with the lowest blood pressure I can ever remember taking, and I am a happy camper! I began taking the higher dose of meds last night, and have no bad side effects and only good results.

Now, I have to work on my TRAILER refrigerator, as I found frozen things in there again this morning. The thought of having to unhook, stow all my stuff, hitch up, and haul to the dealers a good 40 miles away does not make me happy. But I suspect that will have to happen. Sigh.

I will probably work some more on painting and staining my house, and maybe go back to the pond this afternoon. I have some apples I picked from this old, wild apple tree that I could make some apple crisp with, and I might do that, too.

My huge chest freezer down in the cellar needs to be cleaned out and defrosted and restocked, but that will be tomorrow when the dump is open. Heaven only knows what lurks in the layers of old food in that thing!

Coffee is hot, so stop in and let us know what's going on with you and yours. I hope you all have a happy Friday!

Morning,
My dog was up 3xs last night to go pee. What's up with that?!! Now he's snoring and I'm on this thing and watching the news while seeing double and yawning. :o
I haven't a clue what the weather is doing at this point but did notice the outside thermometer reading near 40 at one point during the night. We had near 90 degree temps yesterday and in a couple days our high will barely reach 60. SO strange, for sure. They said on the news last night that our June/July/Aug average temp was 65!

I have an eye exam at 9:30 this morning. I'll be glad to get rid of the glasses I now wear and sure hope the new frames (that I've already picked out when I went to make the appt), work out for me.

Coffee is still hot...grab a cup and peruse the forum with me!

Cold, rainy and blustery here today!! Will only get into the high 60's thru the weekend here. Still have tons to do yet to get ready for my sale tomorrow! Have a few hours here to get stuff done before heading off to work.
The girls at work are sad to see me go. I was told that I will be the first one quitting there that is leaving on good terms! What does that say?? There is another stylist from my old GC's salon who is applying for a job here because of the poor management at the old one. At least this shop is pretty fair and honest compared to the other one.

Moxy is running around being cute and funny this morning. Maybe he knows I am sad and need a good laugh!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

good morning everyone... it is cool and you heard that right cool this morning got up to 57 degrees it will be in the 70s today what a relief... they say we will have near perfect weather for camping this long weekend... so glad for all of the campers...

Soos I too believe that mothers have a healing touch after all they carried the tiny one for ever so long inside their bodies... even mothers softly singing helps...

Almost I think I would put your dog in a kennel that way he is confined and will sleep that is unless he is ill... normally they will not go pee or poo in a kennel... sorry I have not kept up with what you have... that has to be very hard on you...

oh my Barbara I am so glad my sale is finished... do not think I would want to do it again... but may put a few things in my neighbors when the spring sale is going on in the park... my twins are both beauticians... sadly they had to retire with rheumatoid arthritis... where they went to high school they offered a program called 'shared time' a student could get a degree in one of three fields and also graduate from HS... one was nursing and beautician and the other I cannot remember... it was an excellent program... and it was paid for by the school district...

I will do my exercises for this bummed shoulder and hope they take effect soon...

May you all have a great day and if you are headed out to enjoy this long weekend be safe...

Morning all. Got my license plates in from SD yesterday- so the car is now all dressed up and ready to travel, as of 1/2 an hour ago when I put them on her. Got to have another little talk with Martha this morning before that - then she headed out. She's going to try to get all the way home today. That will be about 500 miles, a long haul. But when you get in the home stretch, it's a tad easier - you just want to get there. She's a smart lady and will stop if it gets tiring for her. Sure was nice of her to come out of her way to spend a night here. I'm glad I got to meet her. Hope to do so again down the road.

I have lists of lists now of everything to get done before I leave. I actually scanned in all my classmates pics from my year in the 4 hs yearbooks I have. So sometime today those 4 yearbooks will be off in the mail to another classmate. Something else I won't have to stash somewhere anymore. My trunk is full of pictures that I'll take to my sister's. If she wants some of them, she can have them. There are a few that I don't want to part with - so will store someplace :) In the off chance that I ever have a home for part of the year - like Evie, or Laura, for example - those would go on my walls.

Back to my lists!

Barbie...I'm glad Moxie is cheering you up. I also think animals know when you are sad. That is nice that your co-workers will miss you. Sometimes when you give your notice, people can make your life miserable until you leave. Maybe it's because it's easier to say goodbye when they are angry. Wish I could be there to help you with your sale ;) Good luck!!!

Soos...Before paying to get the fridge fixed, have you tried to resolve the problem yourself? Check for a recall first. I know mine doesn't work as well when it needs to be defrosted. I thought my days of defrosting were over, but with RV fridges, it's still usually a necessity. Mine needed it badly recently, with all of the humidity we've had here, and it works so much better now that it's frost free ;) I have also called my mh mfr and talked to their tech for instructions on how to repair things myself. They are very helpful! You can also find videos on Youtube for almost anything. I would love some of your apple crisp, by the way :D My tip: If you don't get it all eaten, it tastes wonderful mixed in with your morning oatmeal! I stir 1/4 c. oats and 1/2 c. filtered water together, then plop in the apple crisp (or any fruit pie-crust and all) in on top and pop in the microwave for 2 mins. Delicious!!!

It was 54 when I got up this morning and 64 in Myrtle! Kind of nice for a change. Windy, though, so I can feel the pollen effects. Hard to believe it will be back up to 90 on Labor Day. It was the first time the comfort stations weren't used so made my job very easy this morning :D Have to go pick up my leaf blower from Sears service. The leaves are already gathering in a couple of my shelters. Now, let's see how long I can keep from breaking off the start/run switch again

Was paying bills this morning. Looking at my accounts and the calendar sure gives me incentive to cut back on expenses  I still have to get the oil changes in Myrtle and the truck. Don't think I will do anything extra, though, at $90/hr labor charges. I have a hard time paying that! My steps will stay bent so don't laugh if you see them  It's not that obvious until I drive and they don't go in all the way. As I try to remember...It could always be worse!

Well, think I will take a long walk with my boy, Rags :D Have a great day, girls!

Good day

Barbie - hope your sale goes well this weekend; should be a good time to have one. And staying busy is should keep your mind occupied.

In watching the track of hurricane up the east coast was reminded of a set of chairs I purchased a few years ago. The bottoms were marked hurricane 1938. Turns out the worse hurricane to ever hit the NE was in 1938 and the floods from it downed thousands of trees. The trees were rolled into ponds to preserve them until saw mills could be erected to salvage the wood. Two inch thick boards were cut for chair seats and the work provided jobs to hundreds of men struggling from the Depression. One reason I've stayed at playing around with antiques is all the interesting stuff one can learn when researching it. For those interested in more info on this event, check out

Need to get busy; I have successfully wasted the morning.

Morning...well looks like the sun has returned. We will finishing putting the girls room back together. I am so glad that remodel project is done. It really wipes me out, as it is so much work and the rest of the house falls apart around me. While the kids are great about doing little things..it is my stuff that seems to fall by the wayside. The mail is stacked, the bills have to payed, the checkbook balanced. I looked at my desk yesterday, before I left for a meeting..said to myself..get to this later.. stopped at my friends to pick her up at for the meeting..went back to her house after and spent the afternoon there..got home in time to have a snack and take DS to football, then off to CampFire Leaders meeting. Now I have sat her watched some cartoons with Kodie and then checked computer..and now it is almost noon. Can you tell I do not want to deal with the desk...LOL.

So I think I will labor this labor day weekend...plus school starts on Tuesday and I am not even close to ready for that. I need to get back to be more organized..and clean things out. Honestly..I look forward to the day that our oldest moves back out...he finally has a job with great hours..almost full time...36 hours week. Now has his own car..he bought last week. WHY??? I would have my office/craft room back..instead of it all being in the dining room.
