MARVELOUS MONDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

MARVELOUS MONDAY

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Before I went to the pond last night, I took something out of this trailer refrigerator, and discovered some of the things were frozen. I turned down the cold button to the least cold, but when I got back up this morning, I find it hasn't fixed things. My thermometer reads about 10 degrees in there, so I shut the whole thing off for a while. My question is, what would make the refrigerator begin freezing my food? I opened the back on the outside of the trailer to check for mouse nests, or something, but there is nothing there. I am wondering if maybe one of my bags of ice I am storing in the freezer was preventing the freezer door from shutting properly, so I shifted stuff around in there, as I know that the freezer is what controls the whole appliance. I will thaw it all out, clean it out, and start it again later, I guess. But I'm wondering if others have ever had their refrigerators begin freezing stuff, and why?

It's another absolutely perfect camping morning, with the temperature about 60....cloudless and sunny and amazingly beautiful!

I mowed the pond area again last night, got all dirty, so came up here for a hot bath before returning there for bed. I managed to get into the ORS chatroom for a while.

That's the part of camping at the pond I miss the most----internet service. As we have no cell service down there, even an air card wouldn't help me. Sigh----life is full of compromises! Richard the roofer caught me at home via home before I left, and I told him I would not be seeing him at the VT bluegrass festival until after my doc appointment this Wednesday, and maybe not even after that, depending on how the appointment goes, and what he has to say about my blood pressure and those new meds I am taking.

I guess I will work up here at the house for a bit today, perhaps doing some painting/staining for a while until it gets too hot to be out in the sun. Then I might go to Oregon Pond for a swim at my favorite little swimming hole.

No mouse in here this morning, but I may have another one in the house to release. Coffee is hot and is tasting mighty good, so stop by and share a cup with us all. Happy Monday!

Good Morning :)

I arrived safely back in Kerrville yesterday from my summer travels. I'm staying at the same park as Karen this year and we're even next door neighbors :) She's spoiling me already with her good home cooking. We had a nice visit over a wonderful pork roast dinner!

It's back to work for me on Weds and time to make some more diesel dollars ;)

Soos, here's what I googled about your fridge problem:

The food in the refrigerator freezes
This is a common problem that often doesn't have a clear, permanent solution. The first thing to check is the overall internal refrigerator temperature (see the Appliance Accessories section for a refrigerator/freezer thermometer). The proper temperature should be between 35 and 42 degrees. Here are some things to try:
If your refrigerator temperature is closer to 35 degrees, try turning the temperature up slightly.
If you find that the temperature varies a lot from the top shelf to the bottom (where it is coldest), try putting produce and other sensitive products on a higher shelf.
If the temperature is too low and you can't make it warmer by adjusting the thermostat, you probably have a defective thermostat. If so, you need to replace it, because they cannot be repaired. Other possible problems are a leak in the sealed (refrigerant) system, cold air migration (in side-by-side models) or a defective air damper. These problems can be quite difficult to locate and correct, we recommend you contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

Hope it helps some.

Love,
Sharon

Thanks, Sharon! Sounds not too good for me fixing it, but I am trying and assuming that maybe it was because my freezer stuf was preventing the freezer door from closing properly. We shall see when I later turn it back on.

Sharon, glad you are back "home" but I have to admit to a serious case of "map envy" when I see your newly updated map. Today, I'm going to the rig to inventory supplies, food and clothes for the next trip and return laundry etc from the last one. If #1 son isn't too busy today, may have him do a few things like install the new TV antenna thing I bought in March! It has turned hot again here so I want to get over there before it becomes unbearable inside. I sure wish I had those Max Air vents so I could leave it open. :)

Sharon, enjoyed reading about your summer trip but wish I could have gone. Glad you made it back ok.

Soos, there is a small battery operated fan made to help circulate the air in an rv refrigerator. I recently bought a new one at Wal-Mart but the batteries keep falling out. I'm not sure if there are different models. I have trouble with my refrigerator at home freezing things. I think it's because things get pushed to the back and block the air flow.

My grandson made it back from Turkey so now I'm catching up on the Disney Channel. I would like to stay around for a while but my DH is past ready for me to come home. He doesn't notice the cats until he has to take care of them. Every night I hear about what the cats did. They need to behave when mom's away.

I do run a 2 D-cell battery operated fan in my refrigerator all the time, and it has worked perfectly all summer long. (I sent for it from Camping World a few years ago, and I love it. I suspect that I stuffed that bag of ice in the freezer wrong, preventing the freezer door from closing properly. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions, guys. I am hoping it was the freezer door not shutting properly. So far, since I defrosted it and cleaned it all out, it is cooling fine. There was a lot of frost buildup in the freezer which I couldn't see until I got some of the stuff out of there. I am now waiting to see if it overcools again. I will put that fan back in, I guess, as I wasn't sure if it was that thing that was causing it to overcool/freeze. I bought that when I was using my old trailer and its refrigerator at the music festivals---an old guy told me to get myself a fan when it wasn't cooling properly, and PRESTO! It worked perfectly. Those same two batteries have been working non-stop all summer, so far!

I have been painting orange trim and doors so far today, but it got too hot in the sun, so will now put on some white around the door on the covered porch. It's nice and cool out there with a fantastic breeze.

Back to work I go, after some seltzer with ice. Just checked my blood pressure on the newest med I added two days ago----second reading was 119/73 with a pulse rate of 85. I tried to tell the doc that my BP varies inversely with my heart rate----"Impossible," he says! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I have the stats to prove it! When my heart rate is its usual 53, my BP is about 130/79 now, which is still very good for me. Sigh----talk about getting old!
